Welcome to the Guest House. Open floor concept plan, everything is located in one bright, loft-like room. Dining table is directly across from the kitchen island.
The Guest House! Located in Wells New York, one block away from Lake Algonquin on the Sacandaga River, in the Adirondack State Park. Two bedrooms with one full bath upstairs, and an open floor plan living area with a porch downstairs.
The shingles of Guest House are an interesting grey that looks blue in some light and brown in another. We love the lemon yellow of the door and the red roof!

Welcome to The Guest House — your sparkling-clean retreat just one block from beautiful Lake Algonquin!

With two exceptionally comfortable queen beds, this bright, creative space sleeps 4 comfortably. Antique touches and local artwork give it plenty of Adirondack charm, while modern amenities make your stay easy and relaxing.

We happily welcome up to two well-behaved adult dogs (pet fee applies). Sorry, no cats or puppies.

Spend your days walking the scenic 3½-mile loop around Lake Algonquin, swimming at the town beach, fishing, hiking, or discovering nearby waterfalls. For day trips, you’ll find several stunning lakes within an hour’s drive — including Lake George, Blue Mountain Lake, and Saratoga Springs.

Inside:
The open-plan first floor includes a full kitchen, dining and living areas, and a large flat-screen TV with Netflix — perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors.

Outside:
Relax on the spacious screened porch, fire up the charcoal grill, or kick back in the Adirondack chairs. You’ll be within walking distance of the lake, beach, tennis and basketball courts, an ice-cream parlor, and a handy convenience store.

Things to Note:
• There’s no washer/dryer on-site, but one is available in town.
• For your safety, an exterior camera faces the driveway.
• Guests agree to follow our house instructions and sign a short rental agreement.

Cozy farm house in quite lake town

Beautifully renovated little farm house in quite adorable lake town in the Adirondacks. Extremely clean and very cozy/comfortable. Screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee and breakfast. Hosts provided lots of good local info. Love that it was pet friendly.

Cute and comfortable cottage

My friend and I stayed in this cottage in September and it was exceptionally cute and cozy. It had everything we needed in the bathroom and kitchen. The beds were so comfortable and the bedding and pillows were perfect! The location was great. Right by Lake Algonquin and nearby several small villages. The owners suggestions were very helpful. We loved the pizza at Oxbow Inn. We also loved the lobster roll at The Local Dining and Spirits in Northville. Had a fun outing in North Creek at the Hudson River Trading Co. and The Barking Soider. The hiking was great. We had a fabulous week!!

Elegant, immaculate, blissfully comfortable beds & pillows

The Guest House has raised the bar for accommodations in the ADKs! I really don't want the word to get out about this very elegant, comfortable place, but I have to give credit to David & Maura for creating a guest home that goes beyond. As others have said, the house is immaculate, including the screened-in porch. We just returned from 3 nights in the midst of this suffocating heat. The Guest House was a cool haven with a window AC unit in the master bedroom and a large ceiling fan in each bedroom. Another AC window unit cooled the downstairs. The beds & pillows were blissfully comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay. The location is great for exploring Wells, Speculator, Piseco, etc. The house is decorated with each piece of art, mirror, etc., thoughtfully chosen and placed. Truly a special place, we're looking forward to return visits.

Charming House

This house was exactly as advertised, and more! Extremely clean, comfortable and perfectly decorated, with thought and care for guests. All you need is included with this property, including contact with the owner, who was completely available (not that we needed anything)! This location is quiet yet close to so many places to see. The fall in this area is incredible! I would definitely stay here again!

Great place to unwind!

We just spent four days (early August 2022) at the Guest House. It is clear that lots of work went into making the house as comfortable as possible: excellent, comfortable beds in both bedrooms; lots of comfortable seating in the living room and on the screened in porch; the best-equipped kitchen we have seen in a rental; lots of well-chosen books to peruse, ... We enjoyed several nature walks, daily swims at the nearby town beach, and quiet evenings having dinner on the porch. A great place to slow down and relax!

This is a very nice, quiet house. Lots of excellent hikes in the region. We ate in and used the grill several times. Groceries in Northville or Speculator but ice cream in Wells! Owners very responsive.

This was a great property for us to jump off from for three days of hiking in the southern park. Plenty of trails in the area kept us busy. The full kitchen and toasty heat was great to get in from the cold. Nice property. We would stay again.
