Hello! My name is Donna. I formerly owned Mountain Memories, a gift store and cafe in Wells. After many years of wonderful experiences great customers, I closed it and turned it into a Vacation Rental. I loved hosting and was rewarded with awesome reviews. I have since sold that property and have built a smaller one . This new property is a dream come true. My experience has given me a deep appreciation for details and service. I look forward to sharing this insight and my home with you.

The home is located on the backside of Lake Algonquin in the quiet town of Wells. Our area has tons of hiking and mountain climbing trails. Our lake is perfect for water skiing, jet skiing, paddle boarding , kayaking , fishing and of course swimming. The home is located on a small outlet of the main lake. We have a fishing dock here. A short walk across the road brings you to your private beach on the main lake . Here we provide a screened gazebo and watercraft for your use. Wells has a community center with a playground, tennis and basketball courts. The area has many farmers markets and craft fairs. Speculator and Northville are a short drive away and offer a variety of retail establishments. Summer evenings find visitors sharing stories and toasting marshmallows around a fire under the stars. In the fall the colorful leaves transform the lush green landscape of summer into a beautiful vibrant tapestry of reds, golds and oranges. “Foliage” viewing on drives through the Adirondacks is a popular choice. Winters can be a challenge, but for snow lovers it is perfect. Our nearby ski areas offer both downhill and cross country skiing. Ice skating and sledding . Our guests that enjoy snowmobiling will find Wells and the surrounding area packed with trails. Parking for your trucks and trailers is not a problem as the home has plenty of space. Our Spring weather, to be honest, is not so great. We call it mud season and outdoor activities are limited. It’s a great time to stay inside and cozy up by the fireplace with a good book or bake some cookies in our well equipped kitchen. If you are looking for a quiet vacation away from the hassle of traffic and crowds, you will find paradise in Wells.

Our property is unique in many ways. The outdoor areas are vast and have everything you need to enjoy being surrounded by nature. The gliding swing out front is a perfect place to relax and unwind while enjoying the ducks and lake views. The fishing dock is an anglers refuge. The private beach has a screened gazebo, a swimming area and a dock to tie off your personal watercraft. Kayaks, a row boat and a canoe are free for your use. The home itself is designed with many areas to gather while the bedrooms and two bathrooms provide plenty of privacy. The modern kitchen and bbq area have everything needed to prepare meals. Smart TVs and high speed internet assure that you won’t miss any of your favorite shows. A cozy fireplace in the living room and an additional one on the patio create areas for gathering and conversation. The cozy screened porch assures that you can enjoy the outdoors without dealing with flies and mosquitoes. Our home is designed with travelers in mind. Upkeep is a breeze with the help of a dishwasher and a laundry room with full sized washer and dryer. Should you forget something or need assistance during your stay, there is always someone around to help.
