Best L'il Bunkhouse on 40 Wooded Acres

Mikey's cabin was built in the late 40s or early 50s. Part of the original homestead, the cabin was renovated with reclaimed materials. The trim was repurposed or locally milled. Located on 40 wooded acres, that you are welcome to meander through, this is the perfect place for solitude and yet it is close to amenities and attractions.

We are a very short distance to national forest where you can hike, ride mountain bikes, atv's or horses. Its' only 45 minutes from the Colorado Springs airport and two hours from DIA.

A super cozy find for a weekend getaway!

We had an incredible stay this weekend here at the property. Lee and Jeanne were very kind, accommodating, and provided everything we needed for our trip. We brought our 2 dogs who loved walking the trails on the property. Hospitality was great and we would love to come back!

Cute cozy cabin

We enjoyed this one room log cabin, set in a quiet wooded property, while visiting family in the area. This is a quiet and peaceful setting, even though there are other cabins on the property as well as the owner’s home. Although the cabin is small, we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We used the hide a bed at night for a second bed, and closed it up during the day to use as a couch. The decor was peaceful and rustic and best of all, the hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Over all our stay was great!

Excellent!

Had a wonderful stay at the bunkhouse. It is clean, cozy, and comfortable. Lee and Jeanne are wonderful hosts and put a lot of attention and care into their cabins and property. Highly recommend!

Cozy Cabin was a good name

Property was nice, cabin was very clean. Easy check in and check out. Directions given by host to get to the property were extremely detailed and made it easy to find the cabin.

Lovely Property

This was such a nice getaway from Denver. Very easy to get to, this little cabin was perfect. The property and area are beautiful and communication from the hosts was perfect.

Time in the mountains

I was helping family out and needed a close place to stay. This was a nice affordable place. The turkey and deer roam around the property. It's beautiful.

Adorable Cabin

We stayed 5 nights. . It was myself and my husband who stayed. We had never been to Colorado before and needed a base that was convenient to get everywhere. This cabin was in the perfect spot for us to travel to all the sights we wanted to see. We drove to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek and Canyon City. This adorable cabin had everything we needed. The cabin was clean and ready for us when we got there. The wifi worked great. The stovetop and grill was awesome to have so we didnt have to eat out every night along with a washer and dryer. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking to be away from the hustle and bustle of being in a tourist town.

Cozy cabin hideaway

Cute cabin, well decorated, secluded, away from noise of city and airports. Literally next to Pikes Peak and Pike National Forest. GREAT VALUE!

Quiet night

It was beautiful and snowy when we came in late after an event in Cripple Creek. The drive over the pass in the snow was not pleasant, but when we got to the property everything was shoveled and easy to navigate to our bunkhouse. The bunkhouse was decorated in such a warm and welcoming way, and we had everything we needed for an delightful overnight stay.

A wonderful cabin getaway!

This cabin is cozy and incredibly quiet. The decorations are so picturesque; it looks like a holiday movie inside! The owners are nice and very responsive. The drive into town and/or Cripple Creek is easy and beautiful. We are already looking forward to returning in the future!

Amazing lil bunkhouse

Lee and Jeanne thank you again for letting us enjoy your cabin. It’s simply magical inside and out such a relaxing location and inside of the cabin is like from Christmas movie. We had wonderful week and on top of that we got to enjoy and play in the snow :) we can’t wait to be back again. Absolutely recommend it to everyone

If you want to celebrate the beauty and serenity of the mountains, the marvelous hosts, cabin decor and warmth, the Colorado Rockies, and revive your soul this is the place you can have it all in reasonable proximity to all the vacationing you desire. Hope to stay as often as possible.

Best place we stayed in CO

We loved our short stay at Best L’il Bunkhouse. Lee and Jeanne were the perfect hosts. Being a gardener myself, I appreciated the tour of his vegetable garden, and the fresh tomatoes he gave us. The sunrise through our front window was stunning. The bunkhouse was cute, cozy and just right for the two of us. We both agreed it was the best of all the places we stayed during our CO vacation. Thank you Lee and Jeanne!

Wonderful stay!

The cabin is wonderfully decorated, perfect for two, and in a beautiful setting. Bed was very comfortable and kitchen area was plenty sufficient for our stay. Was surprised to see a washer and dryer in the unit. Really can't believe how much they could put into a cabin that size. The check-in process and communication was fantastic. Well done!

Perfect getaway

This little cabin was the perfect escape from the stress of the city, work and day-to-day life. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. The cabin was very clean, organized, and had everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. I took my dog, Hank, along with me and was pleased to see pet bowls and a pet bed were provided. The surrounding acres were great for early morning/late evening dog walks/pottie breaks--just make sure to pick up after your pup to keep the area as nice as you found it. Hank and I were delighted to see a trio of deer grazing on our first evening walking the property. There are also tons of hiking trails and other attractions within a short driving distance. I didn't have the opportunity to meet the hosts, but appreciated their obvious dedication in providing a wonderful vacation experience for their guests and also their respect of guest privacy. I will definitely be back for future stays!

Host: Lee Chapin

We are empty nesters with 7 grown children and 5 grandchildren spread as far apart as Washington state to Ohio. We love to have our family here and our set up allows us to accommodate them and still provide space for them to get-away! Lee is an Architect/GC and the brains behind the renovations you will see here. Jeanne worked as a Social Worker for many years but "retired" to Hospitality Manager to make your stay enjoyable :)

This property is not only good for your stay as individuals, couples or families but it is also good for group vacations. We have 3 cabins available for rent and we do host groups that want to vacation together yet enjoy their own space.
