Rock Rest Eco-Cabin on 2 acre forested lot. Mins from Wolf & Wildlife Sanctuary.
Rock Rest Eco-Cabin was built by the owners in 2018. It is thoughtfully designed with modern lines and rustic textures. Lots of special features. The bedroom has a queen bed and a suspended bunk bed. The back balcony overlooks the valley with farmland beneath the Pikes Peak mountain range. The bathroom is a perfectly clean and efficient space. The shower has a unique stainless steel surround with a polished river rock mosaic floor. With our new water well and tankless water heater you can always have a long hot shower. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make a nice meal. The appliances are stainless steel and the counters are custom made with inlaid polished stone and fossils. The living room has a custom built twin XL daybed. A Smart TV with Netflix, Bluetooth sound bar, HD DVD player, industrial and rustic furniture. The HUGE Sliding glass door addresses the large deck with a twin XL swing and the beautiful forest and meadow where the deer frequently graze. We are located less than a mile from the Wolf and Wildlife sanctuary. You can often hear them howling at the moon. Sometimes they will respond if you howl at them.
It was a great place at a lovely location. However the two EMPTY fire extinguishers in the house had me worried. That is a huge safety and forest fire risk.
Central location for exploring the area, fairly private and close to dining options in Florissant and Divide. Very grateful for pet friendly accommodation, especially when they provide a gate to keep the pups on the deck.
It was easy to get there, and the place was clean. Very, Woodsy, and we saw a big red fox one night. Close to lots of cool things to do and visit. Great food, beers and cocktails very close. Nice small towns close by with very friendly people willing to talk with you and answer any questions. Owner was very quick to get back to us to answer questions. I would recommend staying here and would stay again!
Not a good place to stay if you donât have dogs, have allergies, or are sensitive to smells. There was an ick factor for us- the dishes were grimy, the fridge was dirty, the shower smelled and the shower curtain had spots of who-knows-what, there were sections of the wall peeling off, and there was dog hair everywhere. That being said the cabin is super cool, the outside is gorgeous, the location is great, and the privacy is good. The porch swing is basically a bed (as is the couch inside) and was totally magical to hang out on. The stars and the yellow aspens were gorgeous. Also, HIGHLY recommend a tour of the nearby Wolf Preserve.
I loved staying in this quaint cabin. The area was perfect with plenty of hiking and outdoor access while not being too far away from town so we could still go in for food and other things. Would highly recommend this as a stay
We enjoyed this spot and the close proximity to Pikes Peak and several hiking trails. We especially enjoyed watching the deer as we relaxed on the deck.
