The villa has 1 large double bedroom with en suite & a/c, 1 twin bedroom with a/c & 1 twin bedroom with a ceiling fan. The bathroom has a bath, walk in shower, double washbasins, hair dryer & is situated between the 2 twin rooms. There is a utility room with sink & washing machine. Lounge/diner has 2 ceiling fans ,TV, satellite, WiFi, DVD player & three double doors opening onto the terraces. The kitchen has a cooker, hob, extractor fan, fridge freezer, microwave & dishwasher. On the undercover terrace there is a table & chairs & gas barbecue with steps leading down to the pool (8x4) & loungers. From the pool, steps lead down to the garden. At the back there is a table tennis table.
The nearest beach is approx. 5 kms but there are many different beaches, towns & villages to explore & if you feel energetic there are many sports facilities available nearby.
There are restaurants & bars in the medieval village of Calonge but nearby you have Palamos & Platja de Aro which are quite lively with lots of choice .

Beautiful villa

We received a very warm welcome from Ken and Ethel. They clearly love their home and it doesn’t take long to see why. The villa has all the home comforts you could wish for, it is clean and spacious with everything you could need. The gardens, pool and outdoor space are beautiful as is the view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely comfortable family villa

The villa had everything we needed for a nice relaxing holiday. The pool was great: a nice temperature for kids to swim, deep enough for jumping / bombing, and with a beautiful view over the surrounding hillside (the photos don't do it justice). The kitchen was very well stocked. Comfortable beds. Also, although we clearly didn't come on holiday to watch English TV, it was nice that the TV has the option of all the regular English channels we get at home. The owners were very helpful with suggestions for local things to do, nice restaurants and areas of the beach. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic in every way!

We have just spent a really lovely two weeks at Ken and Ethel’s villa. We have stayed in lots of villas over the years and this is by far the best. Ken and Ethel are fabulous hosts who are keen to ensure you have everything you need. This is a spotlessly clean, ideally located and very well equipped villa with a lovely pool area, deluxe barbecue, water cooler and TV with lots of channels, DVD, (great for the kids when it gets too hot outside ) WiFi, air conditioning, ceiling fans - great outdoor seating areas - beautiful gardens - the list goes on.....it really is 5 star! We couldn’t have asked for more and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this villa. We had a really enjoyable holiday and would love to return one day. Thank you Ken and Ethel for a great stay!

Like in your own house... with the sun as a bonus

Perfect holidays in Ken & Ethel's property. Kind and caring hosts making our stay very comfortable. From the booking process to the checkout, everything ran properly. A few words about the house. The villa lays in a quiet place in Calonge and she is nestled in a small hill.... small is somehow relative when you finish a ride on your bike by climbing the last tens meter in front of the house ;-)) But that's also what makes the view from the villa so lovely, dominating the village with the surrounding hills and the sea as a horizon. Finally the villa is in line with the description, clean and well arranged. Definitely recommend it

Fantastic!

We stayed in the villa for 1 week in July - and it was absolutely fantastic! The house has got a great layout, kitchen was extremely well equipped and the pool area was beautiful - with lots of sun loungers and parasols for a bit of shade. The bedrooms where huge and it was perfect with the aircon at nighttime. The pool was perfect for our 2 boys (4 & 6) since it was between 26-29 degrees every day - and we spent most of our time here. Wifi works perfectly which gave a little break from all the swimming. Brilliant eating area outside (2 different areas) and we used the gas BBQ every night. The local supermarket had a lovely deli with huge variety of food for BBQ. The communication with Ethel and Ken was kind, fast and precise, and Ken came to clean the pool twice while we were there. All in all - the perfect holiday for us! Murray Sørensen Family - Denmark

August 2022 stay at Ken and Ethel’s beautiful villa

The villa was just exactly how it showed in the pictures. As we arrived, Ken and Ethel welcomed us to their impeccable house with wine and other items. The villa is fully equipped in the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms, so we hardly had to buy anything. The pool area was also very clean with lots of umbrellas, benches and tables for our enjoyment as it was so hot. They also have an amazing bbq in the terrace above the pool. Ken and Ethel were also really friendly and responsive when we needed something during our stay. We can’t fault anything to be fair. The only thing we found is that it’s 10-15 minutes walk from the village of Calonge but our teens managed to walk there several times. Thank you so much for being incredible hosts, we had the best time. Susanna, David, Johnny and James.

Fantastic villa with great views

We spent a brilliant week at the villa with our two young children. The villa itself is maintained to a really high standard and has everything you're likely to need. The pool area is secluded with a great view over Calonge and to the sea. The villa is well located being only a short drive to Calonge and the other towns and beaches in the area can also be easily reached. We would highly recommend it.

Great house with nice pool

We had a lovely stay at the house of Ken and Ethel. The house is fully utilised, has a great pool and is located very centrally for all the nice things Costa Brava has to offer. There are various beaches within 10-15 min drive. The host are really friendly, helpfull and easy to communicate with! When we will visit Costa Brava again we will definately come back to this house!

Wonderful villa, great location.

We have just returned from 2 lovely weeks at this villa. As soon as you arrive it is obvious how much pride Ken and Ethel take in their home: the villa is spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need (from a drinking water dispenser, to cool bag and blocks, inflatable water toys, snorkels, etc), and the gardens and pool are lovely. There are numerous seating areas to enjoy the views, and the gas BBQ is great. For us the location was perfect. Just a 5 minute drive to the beaches at Palamos, which have golden sand, rocks to explore and very clear water for snokeling. We preferred the Saint Antoni end, by the rocks. If you walk over the headland there are steps down to a smaller, rocky cove for snorkeling. The location also provides easy access to the C31 for exploring north or south, an excellent water park 15 minutes away (at Platja d'Aro. Go on a cloudy day when the queues are much smaller and book online to get a discount), a short drive to Palamos old town in the evening and a Spar supermarket within walking distance. We did a lovely snorkeling trip from Estartit to the Iles Medas (through La Sirena diving centre. Book online). They provide all the gear, including a wetsuit, and the water was so clear we saw an amazing variety of fish. The guide in the water with us was very knowledgeable and the kids enjoyed identifying the different fish. The drive to Estartit itself is also lovely, through vineyards with some traditional hill top villages to explore. Make sure you go to the fish market in Palamos port, 5pm each day. A huge variety of fish straight off the boats to buy and see. If you are looking for a holiday in "real Spain" in a good location for exploring, this villa is ideal. Ken and Ethel are always on hand if you need advice or recommendations. We loved sampling the different tapas at El Casino, Palamos Port, following Ken's recommendation. Get there by 8pm if you want a table outside, so you can watch the boats and the sun go down. A wonderful holiday. Thanks Ken and Ethel.

A fabulous family holiday!

We spent two wonderful weeks at Ken and Ethel's villa. The villa itself is very well furnished, decorated and equipped, including air-con (essential for us!), Sky TV, a terrific pool and a great BBQ. An additional bonus is the location. Calonge itself has some nice restaurants, Girona is great, there's lots of lovely places to visit along the coast, we drove over the border into France for a day and also had two day-trips via train to Barcelona. Ken and Ethel were a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to book again! All-in-all a fabulous family holiday.

Amazing villa in a beautiful location

From the moment you arrive you know you have found something special. The villa is immaculate, so well equipped and very welcoming. The aircon, water cooler and pool help to keep you cool. The dining areas and the views from them are fantastic. The gas BBQ is very convenient to use. The outside space is amazing, so well maintained and very private. Walking into the hills from the villa is easy and extensive. The shops, beautiful beaches and restaurants are within easy reach by car; a car is definitely recommended. The amenities provide something for everyone, from wifi to table tennis, tv and video, a lovely pool that is so clean and well looked after, to tranquil areas outside to relax and take in the view. Ken and Ethel are great hosts, offering any help and advice needed but giving you the space to enjoy your holiday. A perfect villa for a family holiday.

Very good holidays

We have located with my wife and my 2 children this house for one week. I've already rent many houses for holidays, and this is the one which was the best equiped (cooking utensils, spices, bottle of wine, milk, orange juice ...). This is not usual for a rent house but very appreciable. Furnishings was of good qualities and the house was very clean at our arrival. The piscine area with the gas barbecue was very appreciated too and moreover, owners were very pleasant. This was for us marvelous holidays. Thank you Ken & Ethel for your welcome.

SUPERBE VILLA !

Très bon séjour de 2 semaines dans cette agréable villa située au calme et bien équipée. Villa très propre à notre arrivée et lits faits. Linge de lit et de maison changé à la fin de notre 1ère semaine. Clim dans les chambres très appréciable la nuit. Magnifique piscine bien entretenue. Vue superbe sur le village de Calonge et sur la mer depuis la terrasse. Propriétaires très accueillants et disponibles. Nous recommandons vivement cette location.

Merveilleuse villa

Fantastic Villa with great views

Just back from a fantastic 2 weeks here. The villa is in immaculate condition with a great layout, and Ken and Ethel were extremely welcoming hosts. Enjoyed lazy days by the pool, and evenings on the terrace enjoying the view down towards Calonge and St.Antoni. Great area with lots of beaches, water parks (marineland with the dolphin show a particular favourite with the kids) and restaurants. Was our second time in the area (first in this villa), and we hope to be back!

Superb!

Immaculate villa with first class amenities. Clean, comfortable and roomy. Lovely upper terrace for breakfast with great views. Large patio area with beautiful swimming pool. Short drive to the beach, towns and great restaurants. Calonge is interesting with a small market and many festivals. Excellent golf close by. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

2 Super Wochen in Calonge

Wir hatten zu sechst (3 Erwachsene, 3 Kinder) zwei hervorragende Urlaubswochen in Calonge. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet: vom Riesen-Toaster, über die Waschmaschine, eine gut sortierte Blu-Ray-Sammlung sowie einem schnellen Internetzugang war alles vorhanden. Das größte für die Kids war aber der Pool, wären wir länger geblieben, wären ihnen Schwimmhäute gewachsen. Die Nachbarschaft ist sehr ruhig, in der Umgebung gibt es alles was man braucht. Der Ort ist hervorragend zum Erkunden der Costa Brava geeignet. Die Eigentümer sind sehr nett, sowohl Übergabe als auch das Auschecken waren problemlos. Wir denken gern an die schöne Zeit zurück und schließen ein Wiedersehen nicht aus.

Great villa: all the amenities and good location

We are a family of 5 with 3 children (5,9 and 12yrs). We loved the villa which has all the facilities you need and much more (except for a radio). Swimming pool southward and full sun all day. Aircon in the bedrooms is great, lovely outdoor terrace with easy to use gasBBQ. Calonge is very well located: one hour to Barcelona on highway, close to Calella and also Calonge center is charmingly small. Highly recommended villa.

all you need for a relaxing holiday

Quiet location overlooking green hills this villa had location and facilities that were top notch. Pool was great and big enough to do laps. Big flat screen TV and airco, BBQ etc. Would recommend to all.

Lovely villa in a good position

This is a well equipped, spacious and comfortable villa. Positioned on the side of a hill, it has great views down the valley to Calonge and on to the sea. The kitchen is well equipped with many gadgets - we made some tasty fresh orange juice with cheap local oranges using the juicer! The beds and bedrooms were very comfortable and the air conditioning in two of the rooms was very welcome. Outside, the pool is a good size and great for the children. The veranda was great for breakfast and relaxing in the evening enjoying the views. The location is ideal for exploring the local seaside towns and beaches, or a trip to La Bisbal just a few miles away to pick up some local pottery. This is a really good villa to stay at, we would happily recommend it to anyone looking to stay on the Costa Brava.

Beautiful villa

We had a lovely holiday in September 09. The villa is spacious, light, airy and tastfully furnished. Three really good size bedrooms with one ensuite. The living room leads onto a lovely veranda through three windowed doors each with shutters where it is perfect to eat. The villa is maintained to a high standard and is spotlessly clean. The large garden includes a swimming pool and gas BBQ. It was all just perfect and we want to go again.

Superb villa in a great location

Our stay in August 2009 was great. The villa was as described - very well appointed, spotlessly clean and well maintained in every way. The interior was comfortable with an excellent kitchen, lounge with large TV, bedrooms with air-con; exterior had a shaded balcony, barbeque area, lots of patio furniture and a lovely clean pool. Easy access (by car) to village with shops and supermarkets, and nearby beaches. Great view of wooded hillsides and sea from balcony, and a quiet peaceful location. Highly recommended.
