Luxury detached villa set in the spectacular Gavarres hillside

Casa Benross is a beautifully appointed property, furnished to a high standard, in an elevated position, overlooking the bay of Palamos. Thoughtful design means that impressive sea and rural views can be seen from the lounge, bedrooms and the secluded garden and pool area. The extensive terraces are ideal for relaxing after that “Al fresco” dinner cooked in the purpose built garden barbecue/kitchen, or simply enjoying a drink whilst watching the children playing in the private pool. The property is bright and welcoming, even the beds are top quality, ensuring pleasant nights as well as days. There’s a well equipped kitchen for the dads; Full Sky Satellite Package (Inc Sport & Films) for mum and for the kids Game Consoles. The village of Calonge is within walking distance and contains numerous restaurants, shops and supermarkets and within 15 minutes drive you will find the old town of Palafrugell or Mediaeval Pals and the pretty cove beaches of Llafranc where the discerning lunch.

2 weeks in Calonge.

Great villa in a fabulous location. Close enough for a stroll to the local shop for fresh baguettes. Well equipped air conditioned villa result in a perfect holiday. I would definitely stay again.

Nice house

A very nice house to stay in. Nice surrondings. Nice pool. Two things were not so good. There was a building site next door that we did not know of (a house soon to be finished, so this will not be a problem soon). Joan were very understanding and we made an agreement about this. There was no door to the outside kitchen/barbeque from the kitchen inside, so you had to walk around the whole house to get there. Otherwise very, very nice!

Une maison idéalement situé, dans un environnement calme et très agreable, et tout ca a 5km de la mer. De très belle prestations, et les propriétaires très réactifs. Je conseille vivement cette location. Le seul petit point négatif que je pourrai donner serait les transats qui sont vieux et la cuisine d’exterieur qui mériterait un peu d’entretien aussi. Prachtig huis met een waanzinnig uitzicht

Fantastische tijd gehad hier..mooi huis met héérlijk zwembad en waanzinnig uitzicht op de zee en de bergen en het kasteel van Calonge. Wel veel trappen in en om het huis, dus niet geschikt voor kruipende kindjes, maar daar krijg je wel mooi uitzicht voor terug. Het waait meesral wel bij het huis en dan is het héérlijk vertoeven mrt 34 graden. Ook de omgeving is geweldig..veel mooie baaien en middeleeuwse dorpjes..mooie tijd hier gehad je wel mooi uitzicht voor terug. Het lekk vertoeven

Zunächst einmal ist unsere Gastgeberin Joan eine sehr nette und fürsorgliche Person. hat uns in jeder Hinsicht geholfen. Lediglich aufgrund des niedrigen Wasserdrucks in Spanien hatten wir manchmal Probleme mit Wasser, das in die obere Etage gelangte. Ansonsten war alles super

Okay but needs investment

Joan the host was great. We essentially chose the wrong property, it didn’t suit us in terms of layout at all. More photos would have been useful for us to get a better steer. I do think it’s nice enough, for us the lack of linkages to the outside was a real issue. The outdoor kitchen was tucked away from everything not all practical and the lack of flow between kitchen and dining was awkward. The architect got it all wrong so not sure what the poor owners can do tbh except a major rebuild.

Enjoyable family holiday

We've recently returned from a great holiday in the Costa Brava using Casa Benross as a great base to relax and explore the area. The villa has everything you would need for an enjoyable family holiday in a quiet, not overlooked, position fantastic views over Colonge and to the Palamos coastline. The pool area is a particular standout and we spent many hours relaxing and making great use of the pool. The villa has plenty of space, lots of storage and everything needed to be able to fully self-cater. The property is built over 4 floors which might be an issue for those with limited mobility. We made use of the outdoor kitchen but, as others have noted, there is no direct access from the kitchen to this area. The result is having to walk through the front door via three sets of stairs before climbing down or up several sets of steps outdoors. The villa benefits from air conditioning in all the bedrooms which, during the summer months, will be a must for a comfortable sleep. These worked very well but we did have two of them fail during our stay. Joan made every effort to have these repaired but getting hold of a qualified engineer proved a real challenge. We were provided with a portable unit but, unfortunately, this did little to improve the situation for the master bedroom with ensuite. So, if going in the summer months, make sure that all air con units are fully operational to ensure a comfortable stay. Finally, there are some inaccuracies in the property description. These were not an issue to us but might be important to others so note that there is no games console or table tennis tables. There are 4 bikes available, but these are all unusable due to them having flat tyres and no pump to rectify. Overall, we had a good holiday which was especially welcome after a couple of years of delays due to the dreaded covid related restrictions.

Flott hus

Fint hus og bra beliggenhet. Kort vei til det meste. Et ekstra bord ute som er litt mindre, hadde vært ønskelig. Ellers enig at det burdet vært utgang fra kjøkkenet. Litt tungvint å ta med mat ut. Et noe rart arkitektonisk hus, men koselig.

Lovely property

We had a great trip at this property. It was perfect for the age of our kids (4+) who really loved the pool. The views are super and it's close to the beach. Joan, the property manager was really helpful and very friendly. If at some point the house is remodelled, I would also recommend a door from the kitchen area to the outside BBQ for ease of carrying things out, but this did not in any way affect the enjoyment of our holiday. Thank you for a great stay!

Muy bien, pero a tener en cuenta que hay muchas escaleras, no es para personas con problemas de movilidad. Tendrían que hacer una revisión de que todo está correcto antes de la llegada de los inquilinos, todo los problemas se solucionaron pero cuando ya estábamos instalados en la casa. La zona muy tranquila y con una vista muy bonita, habitaciones amplias.

Vacaciones Agosto 2020

En primer lugar dar las gracias a Nicola y a Joan por su amabilidad. Eramos 5 adultos y 3 niños y hemos podido disfrutar de una hermosa casa con unas vistas fantásticas y una piscina envidiable. También tengo que decir que la casa estaba muy limpia, las habitaciones con camas muy cómodas y todas disponían de aire acondicionado. La cocina estaba totalmente equipada con neveras y congeladores suficientes. El único punto negativo era la terraza superior ya que normalmente hacíamos las comidas y cenas allí y como estos días ha hecho un poco de Tramontana, los parasoles (tanto de la piscina como de la terraza superior) prácticamente no se han podido utilizar porque se los llevaba el viento. También creo que sería necesario hacer una puerta de la cocina a la terraza ya que nos hubiéramos evitado de subir cargados por las escaleras rodeando toda la casa. Aunque eso no evitó que lo utilizáramos Por lo demás, es " Totalmente Recomendable"
