Charming bay view 2 bedroom condo, close to beach and The Convention Center

Makai is conveniently located on 42nd Street and the bayfront. Walk to the Convention Center, dining, shops and the beach. The building has two elevators serving all floors, an indoor pool, ground floor lounge with free internet access, fitness center and billiards room. Bed sizes include a king in the master and two queens in bedroom 2 to occupy 6. Guest supplies all linens, towels, paper goods and soaps. For your added convenience, there is a washer and dryer in the unit. An optional linen package is available for this property. Linens would be delivered to the condo for your arrival. A set would include a sheet set for each bed and a towel set for the occupancy of the condo. You will be able to add this option to your reservation for a fee if you wish. Condo rents with check in/check out day of Thursday or Sunday in season and any two nights off season.
Our property owners do not permit group rentals to guests under the age of 25. Non-smoking/vaping unit, including balcony. No pets, please.

We were visiting for a basketball tournament at the convention center. Location and condo were perfect and as described. No problems were encountered. Check in and check out were seamless. Would stay again.

Great Property. Easy check in process. Somewhat dated but good room layout and bay view, property is well maintained. We didnā€™t use the amenities but gym looked very nice. Location is next to the convention center.

The location was great. Even tho it was very windy and cool the weekend I was there the room and facilities were in good condition. after a little mishap with the bed, and a the other little minor items which I reported the weekend was great. Would love the be there again next year but on a lower floor April 11- 14, 2025

Ok for the location and need for stay

Overall an ok stay. location was good. Property itself needs some clean up all together. The condo was nice but the stains on the floor in the bedroom are terrible, doesn't take much to spot clean the floors along with touching up the walls. Whoever the cleaning crew is needs new rags for cleaning of mirrors and really should dust some more. There were dirty dishes but atleast they were in the dishwasher i guess.

Dirty but Great Location

The Unit itself was very disappointing. Check in was smooth. When we got to our rooms we were treated with the last guests dirty linens left out which was gross. Every pillow had terrible sweat stains and had a dirty smell. They smelled terrible. There was dried food on the floor of the kitchen like someone spilled their pasta and left all the sauce. The bathroom had multiple bulbs out. Every dish we used to cook had to be washed first because there was dried food in it. The location was great but the unit was pretty dirty. Wonā€™t be staying here again. Way too many options to settle with a place like this

Great Location

We have stayed at this condo complex for four year, this is the first time with VRBO. The bayside view is priceless. The location is very centralized. Our only complaint is the unit needed lightbulbs replaced. The bulbs were in key locations.

It was meh.

We got to the condo after going all over the place for the check in process. We were supposedly sent an email I never got but it was ok. We got where we needed to go. But once we got inside and started unpacking we noticed outlets that didnā€™t work, water damage in the ac vents, lights that didnā€™t work, and my husband stared getting really bad asthmatic allergies from something in the room. Then we couldnā€™t even open the door to the balcony from the bedroom because the door handle was busted. Most of the issues were manageable but not expected. What really bothers me is the fact my husband had issues with his asthma the entire time we were there. They should probably check for mold in the ventsā€¦.

3 night stay

accurate description given, but wasnā€™t sure about towels and paper products being available. Perhaps I overlooked that on my confirmation but may want to make that clear to future guests . We felt secure at the property and appreciated the quiet time being early although neighbors on lower floors were noisy on their balcony late into the night. All in all a very nice experience and hope to visit again if able to afford since staying for 3 nights was high priced .

Great for family vacation

We were pleased with the accommodations. It was ideal while traveling with my mother-in-love and two children ages 5 and 9. The location was great. Easy access to the beach and plenty of crowded places to eat and play putt putt.

Couldnā€™t beat the central location

When we arrived on Sunday, the property manager, Kathy was right there to make our checkin so easy. We had a condo on the sixth floor with an incredible view of the bay and every night beautiful sunsets, and the city lights were awesome. . Lots of amenities, cooking utensils and dishes. The only drawback was that you could tell the cleaning staff between guests just did a superficial job. Lots of dust around the lamps, behind the couch, and sticky drawer handles in the kitchen. As far as location, the beach, restaurants, and boardwalk were only a short walk or a quick drive. Indoor pool was great. The property was very quiet after 9 pm and very little noise , so the kids slept well. Property grounds were very well maintained.

This property was in a great location with walking distance to a lot of bars. The only negative about this place was the smell. It has a strange smell the entire time that would not go away.

While the property was in a great area and the check in and check out process was easy, the reason for my 3 star rating was due to the cleanliness and broken items in the unit. The listing said this was COVID clean. However there was dust everywhere, the master shower had a big lump of hair in the drain, and in the kitchen the dishes in some of the cabinets still had food on them. There was carpet stains in the Master bedroom, slats were missing on the blinds for the sliding doors, the closet door was broken on the master closet, and the drain in the other bathroom was slow to drain. Cleanliness in this time is very important and that was what I was most disappointed about in the unit.

Everything was fine but the virus was worrisome

Property was fine, except that the closet door in the master bedroom came off the track the first time that we opened it. Some people inside and in parking lot were not following mask guidelines. Elevators were super fast. Overall, we would recommend this property to others.
