It’s difficult to objectively describe Taupo Bay & the magic that surrounds this spectacular place – probably why it’s just been rated as one of the top 10 beaches in NZ!

We have been coming here for years & every time without fail, we get shivers of childish excitement as the first glimpses of the bay come into view. Even newbies to the beach have described that same breath-taking awe as they reach the top of the road & see the dramatic headlands, golden sand & aqua waters. This is where relaxing just happens & it is quite simply, pure magic.

Think old school beach holiday stuff - the nearest latte is a 20minute drive away – well worth the drive & an explore of Mangonui village. The Taupo Bay camp store is there to provide the basics with Kerikeri an easy drive away as a great day out for stocking up, browsing the boutiques, markets & exploring historic landmarks. Renowned for fantastic fishing & diving, Taupo Bay also has a unique curve which gives great surfing swells at one end, calm snorkling waters at the other. Throw in rock pooling, beach combing, caves for investigating & of course swimming at one of the safest beaches in New Zealand, the adventures are endless.

Imagine all the wonderful memories you can create with loved ones. This bach is a large dwelling with enough room for friends & extended family – 4 dble bedrooms, a ‘granny flat’, two full bathrooms, huge living spaces, games room, 2nd level decking, expansive lawns right to the waters edge.

For us, the charm of this bach is how little it has been changed over the last 30 years other than a tasteful freshen up – this gives easy fuss-free holidaying.

Please Note: We provide duvets and pillows for beds. Please bring your own sheets, pillow cases and towels or you can rent from our property managers.

What a great fun place to stay - the whole vibe matched our family perfectly. Absolutely loved the quirkiness and the carefree hospitality shown, with access to games and extras that really garnish the enjoyment of such a superb location. (My writing ... not chat cheating!!) Wonderful family holiday

This property is perfect for a big family holiday by the beach. It’s rustic but has everything needed to enjoy your stay, including toys and games, multiple fridges, plenty of seating and great views. Lots to enjoy in the immediate area, including swimming, surfing, fishing, snorkeling, a playground and an ice cream truck!

Family trip at Taupō Bay

An amazing location right on the beach at Taupō Bay with enough rooms to fit our family including my dad, my sister and I and our families including children. The communication was excellent and despite the rain there was plenty to keep us entertained including a pool table and surfboards. Thanks for having us.

Fabulous Taupo Bay

Fantastic family accommodation. Right across from family friendly beach. Very safe for young children. Very well equipped property, great pantry & beach gear. Loved the pool table & games, a hit with the kids. Suitable for all ages. Very comfortable & rustic. Loved it!

Beautiful home set up for a big family.. plenty of space for adults and kids.. Amazing location stunning views.. Well equipped for summer. Plenty of bathrooms so no waiting in line lol... Loved our couple days.. Highly recommended this home..

Idyllic location and lovely kiwi bach

Mike was one of the best hosts we have ever experienced. His communication prior to our stay was amazing.You cannot beat the location of this Bach. Right on the beach and over looking one of the best beaches in NZ. It is an authentic Bach experience, no tv, limited wifi but everything you need to have fun with your family and friends. We played board games, pool and spent time swimming, paddle boarding, boating and reading. One of the best holidays we’ve had. Thank you Mike.

Perfect Beach Location

It would be hard to find a better location - it is a large, traditional kiwi bach - not flash but very comfortable with large lounge/dining/kitchen area, plenty of frig/freezer space (3 frigs), two toilet/shower areas and plenty of sleeping space. It is absolute beachfront. Very generous supply of equipment - bodyboards, surfboards, paddleboard and kayak - a large expanse of lawn leading down to the beach, and a huge deck with great umbrella. We had a group of 12 - age range 7-70+ and it was perfect for us. The owner, Mike, was very responsive and helpful as were property managers Clinton and Maria.

This place is memorable! It has the most stunning views, super big so can fit everyone. Access to so much things and lots of fun! Would definitely hire again. The friends that help out mike with the place were amazing also. Couldn’t fault it at all 🥰

Extended family break

Our group had parents with 5 adult children and their Young families. We all had our own space, there's plenty of kitchen gear and has casual NZ Beach Bach vibe..... not flash but relaxing!!

Right on the beach!

My friends and I spent a long weekend here and absolutely loved it!! The house has a classic kiwi bach vibe and has everything you need. It has a big deck, pool table, and lots of beds and rooms so is perfect for a big group. Mike is an excellent host and provides you with lots of information which makes the check in process very easy. Taupo bay is absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to go back sometime soon.
