About this property

Blue Bluff Beauty - King Bed, Private Lake Access

WIFI | AC | Gas Fireplace | Lake View & Lake Access | 1 Non Shedding Dog Allowed

There's a moment — right when you walk through the door — when the whole Great Room opens up in front of you. Floor-to-ceiling windows. The lake, straight ahead. Light everywhere. That feeling is why guests book Blue Bluff Beauty. This lakefront home sits on the bluffs five minutes south of Bayfield, with the world-renowned Lake Huron sunsets laid out in front of you from multiple perches: the fire pit, the back porch, and that big bright room that somehow makes the lake feel like part of the furniture.

For families and groups who want everyone in the same room — this is that cottage.

INSIDE

The Great Room is sunny, expansive, and generous — the kind of open-concept space where the cooking and the conversation and the card games all happen at once. At the center of it: a huge round dining table that seats 7, the kind you don't stop talking around. The gas fireplace anchors the room when the evenings cool down. Off the kitchen, a separate den with a pullout sectional gives the kids their own space for games and puzzles — which means the grownups actually get the Great Room to themselves.

SLEEPING SPACES

Premier bedroom is upstairs, complete with King bed and private ensuite bathroom with tub and separate shower.

BR #2 is on the main floor with a Queen bed.

BR #3 has a Single over Single bunk and Single over Double bunkbed

Den has sectional with pullout Double bed.

3 Piece Bathroom on the Main Floor

NOTE: Playpen/Highchair available upon request

OUTSIDE

The sun loungers on the back deck are where the afternoon goes. The lake is right there in front of you, the light shifts, and nobody's in a hurry. This is the nap that fixes things — warm, unhurried, with the sound of the waves doing all the work.

When the weather calls for it — or even when it doesn't — the screened porch with its two skylights and mood lighting becomes the dinner table. It's sheltered, atmospheric, and completely its own thing. Evening meals here last longer than they should.

The fire pit on the bluff is where everyone ends up once the sun goes down. S'mores, wine, the kind of easy laughter that only happens when nobody has to be anywhere. As Peter put it: "there was always a new place to sit and enjoy the view." The fire pit is the last stop.

The new lake stairs (added 2025) take you down approximately 80 steps to your private stretch of Lake Huron. The lakebed shifts between sandy and stoney depending on what the lake is giving you that day — sandbars generally appear 3 feet out, the water is clean and clear, and the stone collecting is genuinely excellent. A geologist's paradise, a kid's afternoon obsession. Bring water shoes.

Note: *2025 -Newly Added stairs to access the Lake, right in your backyard - Approx. 80 stairs to the Lake*

The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.

EXPERIENCE BAYFIELD

The pace of life slows down in Bayfield. When you vacation here, it’s easy to experience each day to its fullest. Take a short drive to the village downtown, to fine exquisite dining restaurants/bars and cafes, to pub fare to fine dining. Many boutique shops to browse that unique find, or one-of-a-kind art pieces. See the sights of Bayfield, such as the splash pad at Clan Gregor Sq., Pioneer park for a pickup game of volleyball, or the shores of gorgeous Lake Huron for a beach day. Follow up with the best sunsets in Ontario! Bring your kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, boat, hiking shoes and escape to some good adventures and make memories!

Visit during the off-season to catch favorite annual events like VetteFest or for a girl's getaway weekend—we're happy to suggest our favorite local spas, wineries and breweries, shops, and yoga classes.

Bayfield is a “Blue Community” - visitors won’t find bottled water in public facilities or at events but they will find a portable refillable water bottle station operated by pedal-power and five water bottle refill stations at public facilities located throughout the village.

My group booked this house for a reading retreat and it was perfect. Nice comfortable beds, enough room for all of us and right on the water. We had a great relaxing weekend!

This cottage had the most beautiful view. It was so lovely sitting on the deck and watching the most awesome sunsets. The cottage itself was okay. A few minor problems - bathroom sink backed up, light bulb burned out in bathroom, not a lot of hot water in the lower bathroom as well. That said, the stay was enjoyable enough. We brought our dog which was a bonus and she loved it. The check in and check out was very easy. Jennifer and Shauna were responsive when communicating and they were also very welcoming.

Such a beautiful spot!

We loved our stay at Blue Bluff Beauty! The cottage was so nice! It had everything we could have wanted, tons of space, a great location, a gorgeous view and access to the beach! The week we were there was quiet and peaceful, we had the beach all to ourselves many of the days. 10 out of 10, we will definitely be back! The owners of Cottage Stays were so great to work with too. They were very thorough in all of their communication and information provided, and responded quickly to any questions we had. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

A Wonderful Week in a Top Notch Location

Blue Bluff Beauty is not just a clever name. This lake house is a real beauty. The layout provides a spaciousness while maintaining a cosy atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped and has lots of work space. The beds are very comfortable as are all the rooms. There is a billion dollar view of the lake - from the deck, the front lawn and the living room! Jennifer provided useful information before our stay and was very helpful during our time at the lake house.

Blue Bluff Beauty Lives Up To Its Name

From the moment I booked the cottage, Jennifer was incredibly helpful with the check-in process. The unobstructed view was spectacular, the beach was perfect, and the cottage felt comfortable like our home away from home. From the cottage to the backyard to the beach, there was always a new place to sit and enjoy the view. We didn't use the fire pit, but we were surprised to see such a large collection of wood for us to use. We would definitely come back again and recommend it to everyone.

Great Getaway !

We had a wonderful time at this cottage. It is very spacious, but has a cozy feel. The view is fabulous with the floor to ceiling windows. Beautiful spot to watch the sunset. Perfect for a getaway and quite private. Hope to do it again!
