Later, BBQ in the spacious backyard and take a short 10-min drive to shop at Bayfield's Main Street or explore Grand Bend. NOTE: Approx 80 stairs down to the beach. 2024 there is still a little beach. There is a sea wall here and there will be beach on the wall. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.

With wooded trails, scenic country vistas, and stunning Lake Huron, Bayfield is a beautiful place to explore no matter the season. Bring your hiking boots and plan a trip during leaf-peeping season for a display of color. Several weeks later, the snow starts to fall and guests can enjoy the quiet of winter and crunch through the snow in evergreen forests or try out the snowshoe trails on the river flats. Or go skating at Dark Horse Winery.

You're just 1 minute from White Squirrel Golf Club with winter hiking trails and winter golf for those die-hard links lovers. Explore downtown Bayfield, just two minutes away, browsing the unique boutiques and stopping for a hot coffee at one of the quaint cafes. We're happy to suggest our favorite local spas, wineries and breweries, including Dark Horse Estate Winery with a tasting room as well as an outdoor skating rink. If you prefer hops over vines, Bayfield River Road Brewing has an outdoor tasting room to enjoy the craft brews.
