The little cottage was adorable and the quaint town with just a short walk to the river and beach was awesome. The location is nice because it’s close to Afton, Hudson and Hastings. The only issue was that the week happened to be extremely hot and swampy and there is no central air, just spot air conditioners and fans. The spare bedroom was way too hot to sleep in comfortably. The main bedroom with a unit in the window was fine. But if the weather is decent, you will be okay. Seeing “AC” on the description won’t necessarily mean central air and that is a lesson learned for me for future bookings depending on the season.

Nice wee place to stay near the river

Booked this stay primarily for our elderly Labrador so he could swim everyday and sunbathe on the deck. He loved it and we enjoyed it too. A quiet and friendly neighborhood. Very responsive and helpful hosts

My Stay

Live close by but doing remodel work on our home so had to go elsewhere. It was a great location, comfy bed, nice to be able to do laundry and perfect to bring my dog. Had a good space for her to go out. I felt very at home here and also loved the little sitting area. Small but great use of space.

Cute House, perfect for couple get away!

This property is prefect for a couple and/or a small family! Its a very cute house with good amenities like a full size fridge and stove. The house is clean and pet friendly. Its close to the cities without actually being in the cities. Overall it was a good stay.

Stillwater Get Away

Location was great for exploring Stillwater and Hudson. Home was cozy and bed was comfortable. Hosts were very responsive with communication. Worked very well with having my dog with. Only minor complaint was the house was at 55° when I got there, which I know was the temp instructed to set the thermostat to when leaving, however, it did take over three hours to get the place heated to 70° so first few hours were chilly.

It was nice with issues

When we arrived there was a terrible eye watering smell throughout the whole cottage. We opened all windows and used large amounts of neutralizing spray. The next day was still bad and found that the garbage can had the same odor but worse with disgusting stuff on the sides of the can. Contacted the host about the smell and sent pictures of the can. She said her housekeeper could stop by after work but we had prior commitments and would not be available which we communicated to her. There was handfuls of garbage under the couch and under the trundle bed. The powdered creamer was hard and had bugs inside it. A couple days later there were flies covering the garbage can, the whole front of the garage and our car which lasted until the day we left. There were ample supplies in the kitchen, towels, and cleaning supplies, nice neighborhood and the location was convenient for us.

Cute, clean, well-stocked home - very dog friendly

Great home in very walkable neighborhood. Perfect location for exploring the St. Croix - Minneapolis area. Very clean and comfortable. Great for my husband and I. Really appreciated the coffee bar. And my pup loved the treats and small fenced yard. Highly recommend.

Holiday excursion

This was a delightful little cottage close to Stillwater, Bayport, and Hudson, Wisconsin. It was the perfect size for a short stay for the of us and our pup.

Perfect Cottage

Our recent stay at this cottage worked out great. The size was perfect. Beds were comfy, the entire place was very clean and it was a breeze to check in. The river was a few blocks away, was nice to take a leisurely walk after dinner. We would stay here again, highly recommend!

Clean and quiet

Was a very clean space, perfect for our family of three. We are from out of state and used this space as a getaway during the Christmas holiday, while visiting family in the St.Paul/Minneapolis area.

Lakeland Shores on Thanksgiving weekend

Clean, cute, quiet! The cottage amenities were terrific, but I would have liked a hair blow dryer in the bathroom and unscented towels and sheets. We felt very comfortable and safe walking our dog in the neighborhood at night. Walking to the river is a nice option, or hike in Afton State Park for a more vigorous hike (recommend the 50th Street parking area with multiple loop options and mapping to help navigate), and a burger at Lumberyard pub afterwards!

Lakeland Cottage

We loved the location. Our morning walks along the St. Croix river and access to Hudson WI and Stillwater MN was excellent. The cottage was overall very comfortable to stay in. We were overall pleased with the cottage and the location. The cottage was very clean when we arrived which always adds an extra plus to any location. The neighborhood is very peaceful with a mixture of housing styles to enjoy checking out. I would not hesitate to stay at this location again when visiting the area.
