Everything was great except I didn’t have gate code …I didn’t see that in any communication…arrived at dark very difficult to navigate…cabin was perfect and the WiFi was good
Thanks for your review, Carol! The homeowners let us know that the road to the cabin has been fixed and is in great shape for all vehicles during all seasons and weather conditions. We look forward to hosting many satisfied guests!
This location was sooooo breathtaking. We love the view of the mountains surrounding us. Plus this location is smack dab in the middle of pretty much everything. From Nantahala River to Fontana Lake to the Great Smoky Mountains. I wish we could’ve stay more longer. I will definitely recommend this cabin to family members and friends 100%.
love the layout for 2 couples, with 2 bdrms and 2 bathrooms on opposite ends of the cabin. loading and unloading was a little tough with lots of steps, but doable. only real complaint was road to cabin very rough, lots of switchbacks and huge potholes, which made travel to and from cabin after dark impossible.
WONDERFUL PROPERTY.SO GLAD TO FIND A PLACE THAT LETS ME HAVE MY DOGS. NO RESTRICTIONS ON HOW MANY OR SIZE LIKE OTHER PLACES. LOVED THAT THE PLACE IS CLOSE TO A DOLLAR GENERAL & GAS STATION, CAUSE I NEEDED A CPL OF THINGS.
ONLY DOWN SIDES WAS THAT I WAS HOPING TO TAKE A LONG BATH AFTER NOT HAVING A TUB FOR 3-1/2 YRS, BUT THERE WAS NO PLUG. HAD TO USE A WASHCLOTH.

Property could have been a bit more maintained and cleaned.
Spider webs and dead bugs in the corners. Internet was very intermittent. Could not enjoy a movie w/o it stopping. The deck was nice. Enjoyed the scenery. Absolutely loved the hiking trail near by. Lastly, bad smell coming thru the vents, had to burn candles to offset for it to go away.

Hi Oliver, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We're glad to hear you enjoyed the deck and the beautiful scenery but disappointed to hear your stay did not meet your expectations.
- We were unaware of any issues or concerns during your stay and wish you had mentioned something during one of your communications with our Property Manager because we would have promptly addressed your concerns immediately.
- Due to the location of our cabin and how immersed in the forest it is, bugs can be prevalent. Our cleaning crew does a thorough cleaning of all corners of the floor and ceiling before every guests' stay. Many guests use the screen doors, and where this may help keep bugs out, they cannot prevent all bugs from entering the home given how surrounded by trees it is. However, we have shared this feedback with the cleaning crew in case any details were missed before your visit so that they can improve for all guests in the future.
- There was a lot of rain during your stay, and records show there was 98% humidity. The HVAC system and all ductwork were replaced in 2020, so there would be no smells coming from the vents due to the ductwork being new. However, we suspect that since it was rainy and humid, dirt from shoes got into the carpet and it caused that smell. But, greatnews! We have since replaced the carpet with new vinyl plank flooring so this will not be an issue moving forward for any guests. We have also made the following updates to the property: handrails on all steps to the cabin, new paint, new beds and bedframes, new ceiling fans, new light fixtures, new curtains, and power washed and repainted decks.
- We note on our listing that the satellite internet speeds vary with the weather. Knowing this, we provide our guests with a DVD player and several DVDs are available in different genres for entertainment when the internet is affected by the weather.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

absolutely not
the pictures of the place are great, however not what it looks like, you are 15-30 feet to TWO diff houses up there, there’s not a private place on any part of the porch bc of the two neighboring houses…good stay but not all what it looks like, i wanted it for privacy, felt like there were eyes on me from every angle all throughout the house. makes creepy scary noises at night all throughout the house as well.

Hi Ben, thank you so much for letting us know about your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following: "I'm so glad you thought the stay was good except for the concerns that you shared. It is normal for people to experience anxiety while staying in the woods if they're used to city sounds or lots of people around because it is a quieter environment than one might be accustomed to at home. This is a gated community, but it is surrounded by nature with nature sounds. There are floor-to-ceiling windows to let in gorgeous daylight and surrounding forest views, and curtains on all windows to close at nighttime. All 6 sliding doors around the cabin provide full privacy with the curtains open so you can really take in the surrounding scenery with no visual disruptions during the daytime. Though there is some visibility of neighboring houses from the decks outside, there are several spots on the 400 sq ft of decks where you can rearrange chairs and tables to create a private and tranquil space among the surrounding trees. The cabin is located atop a hill, with another house positioned about 250 feet down the hill, which remains unoccupied most of the year. Our listing also mentions another vacation rental on site which is located across a shared driveway about 150 feet from the cabin. We hope this information proves helpful, and that these explanations provide some clarity. Please know that it is our sincere desire to provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our guests and we hope that you will come back again someday to enjoy nature in our cozy and newly renovated cabin!"
The driveway to the place is very narrow so use caution when coming or going. When we arrived, the parking was clearly labeled but the entrance you think you would use is not the entrance you do use so that was a bit confusing. When you walk in, there were lights on and it was very inviting. Everything we needed for our stay was provided-towels, a bundle of firewood, hand soap, movies, internet, laundry detergent, dish soap and detergent etc. The beds were super comfy except for the master on the one side; as soon as you lay down, you sink into a hole so it could use replaced. Only other downfall to this property is it could use a deep clean; there was a lot of pet hair on the floor and baseboards. Other than those few things, this property is absolutely beautiful. I loved all the little touches to make it feel like home. Our kids loved roasting marshmallows over the fire while watching a movie in the beautiful living room. There are sliding glass doors everywhere so there was beautiful views surrounding you all over. The internet was just upgraded and it worked great!! I would definitely stay here again the next time we visit the area! Thank you for having us!

Love the property and location. Fully furnished with everything needed to enjoy a quiet week. The TV channels were non existent because the internet speed was too slow and no satellite TV provided. Plenty of DVD's were in the cabin. Access for elderly people was difficult with no railings on the steps.

-We are happy to report we have made the following renovations to the cabin to enhance the guest experience:
We have installed new handrails on all the steps and stylish vinyl plank flooring throughout the cabin, freshened up the walls with a new coat of paint, and added a new ceiling fan, light fixtures, and curtains to create a more inviting ambiance
-To enhance your outdoor experience, we have also repainted the decks, installed a brand-new firepit, and added a new grill for your convenience

The house was very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the large deck and comfortable rocking chairs. The one lane mountain road inside the neighborhood gate was unnerving. Once we arrived at Hidden Adventures all was peaceful!
It was described as having steps to access property but did not include fact that there were no handrails. Steps up the incline to house were very steep! Property was clean but had several repairs that need to be addressed.

quiet, secluded, in the woods. internet is slow, but it is all we needed to check in with the world and it is very helpful since cell service in the area is slim. yes, I would say 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle needed. the rock road into the mountain side is steep, and narrow. (but not out of the ordinary for this area) look up/down the hill to see if another vehicle is coming before you drive to help everyone have a better drive. house had all we needed to be happy. very much appreciated the laundry washer/dryer. beds were comfy. cooked with ease whole time we were there. grocery stores about 15 minutes away. good location for accessing the lake, trails and NOC.
