We loved our stay! The house was perfect- clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. I adored the covered patio and sitting in the swing down by the river. The kids loved being on the water (though beware jellyfish!). We highly recommend this house.

Cozy place

Overall very nice place. The back yard was amazing! If you like swings you will enjoy just swinging and looking at the water!

Great Family Get-away

We needed a place that was close to our in-laws, and this checked all the boxes. Bunk beds for the kids, a big backyard, great patio deck space, and a beautiful view of the river with a clean beach that was very family-friendly. The house was stocked with everything we needed, and it was an easy home to keep tidy. We would come back again for our next family visit.

Nice place on the water, needs upkeep outside

The home was very nice, clean and well kept. Very well stocked. They owners went above and beyond in this category to make the stay nice. The outside areas of the property need some TLC/maintenance. I.E. broken/rotted deck boards around the home, paint peeling etc. But overall very nice and clean. Would stay here again.

While the location of the house being on the water is amazing….. the rest of the house needs updating. The furniture is also mostly outdated. The outdoor furniture looks beautiful in the photos but all of the cushions were off & the furniture was scattered & not set up. There were several pairs of shoes on the back patio which was strange. There was an odd smell in the house. We did find a bag of orange peels & rotted onions in a cabinet in the kitchen. Not sure if that was what the smell was, but it was gross. There was a small fresh blood stain on the mattress pad in one room. I wouldn’t stay here again unless they did a renovation & more thorough cleaning.

Kids xmas

We gathered as a family to celebrate Xmas. We went to Christmas town and cooked Xmas dinner. We found old rotted food in one of the cabinets that really smelled badly. A lot of the utensils were grubby looking and the stove was not very clean. The exhaust fan did not work. The setting was beautiful and the kids loved playing outdoors. It met our needs and we made do but I would suggest getting rid of all the old food in the kitchen and refrigerator..

Amazing setting

Absolutely gorgeous setting. Being able to see and enjoy the York river throughout our stay was a highlight. We really were able to just step away and relax! Lots of bed options although mattresses could use an update. Kitchen is well stocked - just keep looking if you don’t see it at first :) Towels, linens etc supplied.

Very nice house

The house and especially the outdoor areas were wonderful with plenty of room for our family. We especially enjoyed the beach and kayaks. The mattresses in the bunk room were not comfortable and the kitchen was too cluttered with leftover food from previous guests, but all in all, a very nice house!

Very well equipment house, loved the outdoor space. Simple check out instructions. Only suggestion would be more seating around the tv or another tv in the house. We had 11 people staying and when the weather was bad and we wanted to watch a movie there was only really one couch to sit on to watch.

Adorable lakeside vacation

The house was very clean and had so much space! There were a total of 9 people staying here, 4 adults, 3 teenagers, and two small children and everyone was very happy with our stay. The backyard, dock, lake, beach, and patio were immaculate and well kept. I will definitely look into this home if I take another trip up there again.

Wonderful and spacious stay for a group of 8. Great outdoor spaces and river front access in a quiet rural setting. Wonderfully appointed kitchen. More table lamps in LR for readers would be nice.

Beautiful location

Gorgeous views and very well equipped house. Lots to go outside, we unfortunately had cold and very windy weather. Would be an amazing getaway with warm weather. More seating around the tv or a tvin one of the other rooms would be nice.

Better than the pictures

Property was clean and is well marked from the street. Everthing we needed was at the house and it had plenty of room and storage. Since it was winter we didnt enjoy the dock or much of the outdoor space but did explore and the beach looked very clean. Telescope st the house provided entertainment and was a great place to stargaze.

Great stay on the York River!

The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. We were two families, with nine people in total and never felt crowded. The kitchen was well-appointed and had everything we needed plus more! Great to have spices, condiments, tea and coffee provided! The views of the river are tremendous and there’s even a little beach area. Great location and we would consider staying there again!

The house / property is nicer than the pics. The sunset view is real. It is secluded, take what you need or drive 15 minutes to Wally world.

It was OK

The house had an appropriate amount of space as advertised for me and my family. The backyard is quite peaceful except for the loud fishing boats in the morning (but has nothing to do with the property). There were plenty of items for our basic needs such as cooking utensils and toiletries. Unfortunately, on our arrival there were two large trash bins that were overflowing with garbage and multiple filled trash bags on the ground on front of the garage next to the walkway for the entrance from the previous guest which attracted raccoons. The trash wasn't collected until Wednesday. We did not feel safe sitting outside after dark because of the raccoons. However, the inside of the house was very neat and in order.

Remote clean property with beautiful view

Property is very remote and quiet. Extremely clean with most amenities. View of river is spectacular as is the grounds. Living room furniture not very conducive to conversation or TV watching. Two twin beds joined in one room had terrible mattresses. Decks should have hand railings, particularly the one coming from the house down to the patio, just for safety measures. Home was spotless and well equipped. Beautiful flowers and very quiet neighborhood. We loved our visit to the historic sites.

Beautiful, relaxing getaway location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is phenomenal. Right on the water with a private beach & dock! Beautiful river views, so relaxing. And lots of outdoor seating to take it all in. Home was well stocked with extra towels, blankets, plenty of kitchenware, and most things you'd need. There's even a canoe and life vests you can use. The only small negative about this home was the bath tubs. One seemed "cleaned" but was still kind of dirty. The other one was definitely not cleaned. The rest of the house was very clean though. Overall we loved it and would definitely stay here again!
