Looking for a classic Oregon Coast experience for your stay at the beach? Pacific Peace is a sweet, single-level slice of knotty pine coziness perched on the edge of the beach. A sitting room bumps out from the rest of the home, giving you a three-windowed view up and down the coastline, with the mighty Pacific rolling in the center. The rest of the living room centers on a brick gas fireplace hearth in the heart of the home. The kitchen has knotty pine cabinets for added charm. The single bedroom has a double bed and ocean views; views abound from the king bed and in a curtained nook with a double bed for a charming, cozy sleep. You are right above the beach and getting down to the sand is easy from a nearby access. Roads End is less than a mile from Chinook Winds Casino, a McMenamins brew pub, restaurants, groceries, and shopping. If you like your beach time to include a touch of nostalgia, this little cottage may just be the place to find your own bit of Pacific Peace.

The view was to die for! We sat in those chairs for hours watching the tide and the birds and the beachcombers! It was so serene. We also loved the warm fireplace.

Terrific view

This older beach home is unique in that the main sleeping area is in the living room. However the view is stunning. Dryer was not working and mini blinds were trashed when we arrived but we were able to contact VRBO to let them know. Kitchen was extra small and the dishwasher was a counter top model which took up a lot of valuable counter space. Shower was very small, and no tub.

A great view!!

We loved the view! Some of the windows are failed and need new glass. I was glad we brought chairs for the deck. It would be nice if there were some available on site for future guests. Got to see whales and kite surfers and beautiful sunsets!

Million dollar view but $75 amenitys

Sparkling clean. Fabulous view and location. Funky vintage and hard worn. Bathrooms have no heat or exhaust fans. Showers at best ran tepid some days seriously considered renting a motel room to shower. Beware Verizon cell service very poor and could not consistently use data

Great view of ocean

Bathroom w/shower had what looked like mold. Could not find thermostat. one bedroom had to turn switch outside room for lights to work. Large window w/view had moisture inside hard to see thru, another window needed replaced. Internet these days is a must. Better decor & cooking utensils etc

Beautiful View but Upkeep is Desperately Needed

It wouldn’t take much to improve the inside. The bathroom with the shower is disgusting! The black mold on the inside of the shower, and on the outside truly needs to be addressed by cleaning and removing the mold, plus replacing the floor tile in front of the shower. That is a health hazard. Normally, I do a lot of cooking at a VRBO but I wouldn’t cook in that kitchen. The view was what we did enjoy. That is spectacular.

Great place, poor service

Great house. Loved it! No wireless. There was a sign saying it didn't come with this property, but it would have been nice. Two problems: (1) Arrived to find a damp towel folded on the towel rack. (2) The worst part was in leaving. It was daylight savings time change day. We cleared out before the designated time, but the person cleaning had called the police to report us as being late because he didn't realize daylight savings changed.

Terribly Misrepresented

Property not at all as represented in photos. Dark, dingy. No room to walk around bed in bedroom. Mattress pad with old stains in bedroom which was discovered upon stripping bed. Shower mildewed. Floor in bathroom mildewed. Unsafe wiring. Entrance door with an inch gap under it—daylight came through. Kitchen drawer with large rat traps and mice traps. All furniture very worn or broken. Doors to bedroom and bathroom crashed into each other when opened. Unsafe for older folks with uneven floor. Surprised it even qualifies as a VRBO listing. Have requested a refund. Brought my long time friend with dementia and it was not a pleasant stay. So very disappointed.

Unit Older Than Expected, but Still Wonderful!

Pros: Location: Amazing ocean views. No direct beach access (property is on a cliff), but nearby public access is only a 1-2 minute walk down the road. Privacy: Virtually no one can see in any windows from the outside. It was nice to have an intimate getaway with my husband while still being able to enjoy the beautiful views and natural light from the many windows. Square footage: So spacious! Artwork: The paintings from the amateur artist were a nice touch. Entertainment: Netflix and Prime Video on the smart tv. Washing machine: We used this a lot. Cleanliness: No mold. Very clean. (I was worried about this after reading some other reviews, but I have no complains about cleanliness.) Cons: Age: More dated than the pics show. Mild odor. There’s a small slope in the flooring between the main area of the unit and the section with the king bed and ocean-view windows. It could be a tripping hazard. Just be cautious. Broken Adirondak chair upon arrival. No DVD player. Broken recliner. No bathtub. Darker than the pictures show despite the many windows. The bathroom with the shower is pretty small. Slow-draining bathroom sink. Overall, I give the property four out of five stars. It was delightful. And for the price, I would definitely return.
