Cape Henlopen State Park Tips:
In addition to its beaches, nature, and recreational trails (which connect to Rehoboth Beach, DE and its boardwalk/dining/shops), key features of Cape Henlopen State Park are the WWI watchtowers. The park showcases their history and will even allow visitors to climb the tower (via interior stairs) and enjoy the expansive views.

Great place! Would definitely rent again. You have to bring your own linens, towels, TP, laundry, soap, etc. which is always tough when you are packing all the things for the beach with kids, but overall that's a small drawback with how great the place is. There are bikes available to use and we rode through the beautiful state park to rehoboth and nearby restaurants. The home's layout is perfect for multiple families to have their own space and be perfectly comfortable.
We usually stay ocean front in DE but this year we changed it up and chose this lovely Bay front home. Everyone LOVED it! The Bay has it's own pluses; being able to wade quite far out in low tide and not being afraid of an undertow, getting close and personal with some sea life (almost stepped on a live flounder!), and intriguing beach combing. Next time we are going to try kayaking. The home itself is extremely clean and beautifully decorated. There is plenty of space to sprawl out and not get in each other's way ( we had 7 adults). Loved the screened in porch; we didn't have to fend off flies or mosquitos with dinner. We took advantage of the bikes provided and biked the State Park right next door, we also played disc golf there. I can't find a thing that we didn't like about this home! To top it all off, there were fresh flowers and a bottle of champagne waiting for us when we arrived! Our Thanks to the Owner, we will definitely be back.
Spacious and well-appointed home perfect for a family get-away
Looking for a peaceful, picturesque place to take the family for Thanksgiving, we compared about twenty properties online before deciding on this one. What sold us on this place was plenty of room for everyone, great view right on the waterfront, and relatively close to well-supplied supermarkets for T-day preparations. The house has a well-equipped kitchen (very important), a large family room with a big screen TV, DVD player, and plenty of couches for lounging and playing games. I had some work to do during the week, and the sun room was the perfect location for some peace and quiet with a fantastic view of the Delaware bay. The place has an ideal location for our needs. The beach was right there, great for strolling up to the cape or over the ferry dock to watch the Lewes-Cape May ferry come in and depart. The owner provides plenty of bikes for riding through the state park. And the historic town of Lewes is a couple of minutes down the road, with great restaurants and quaint Victorian and colonial houses and shops. The Rehoboth outlets are 20 minutes away (the kids got some great Black Friday deals on clothes and shoes), and the Dogfish Head Brewery is also 20 minutes away (free brewery tours and beer tasting). We had a wonderful time!

A Little Piece of Heaven in Lewes, DE
We have been coming to Lewes, DE for years and have always enjoyed staying in this area. I wanted someplace memorable for my husband, son and mother to stay and this gorgeous bayfront property turned out to be just the place. The home was impeccable, the waterfront multi-window views were to-die-for, and surf fishing access for my husband and son to fish was ideal. Beautiful Cape Henlopen State Park is right next door and my husband took advantage of the ocean side where he reeled in fish after fish. Rehobeth and Indian River Inlet are closeby. There are an unending number of eateries to enjoy and shopping is at a premium at the multitude of outlets just down the road. For movie buffs there is also a movie theater closeby with multiple movies showing at the same time. The home was superclean, well maintained inside and out and stocked with everything you could need. I, personally, could have stayed at the house the whole time we were there. It is very spacious with two beautiful master suites and plenty of TVs. Perfect bay views from the awesome living room, cozy sunroom, screened porch, and multiple decks. I enjoy taking pictures, so needless to say, I amassed many photos. The Lewes/Cape May Ferry crosses a short distance up from Cape Shore Drive, so that alone was interesting to watch. I highly recommend this home to anyone who is very particular about the quality of their surroundings when choosing a place to stay. This rental is located in a very prestigious beach community with its own private fishing pier, pool and tennis courts. All the beach homes in this community are beautiful-to-look-at properties. You seriously cannot be disappointed with a home as lovely as this one.
A wonderful family escape
We have been renting in Lewes, DE for the past 6 summers. We spend two weeks there with family. As a family with two small kids this house is a wonderful place to share and create memories. Plenty of bedrooms, a great porch for watching the sunset, beachfront, and immediate access to the State Park, which hosts an incredible bike/running path that takes you all the way to Rehoboth, DE. We bring our catamaran and kayaks every year and rent two Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Boards for our entire stay. It is a magical location, off the beaten path of traffic, yet close enough to town that we can ride our bikes. There are bikes that are left at the house for guests to use. Renovations every year to the house, bring excitement as we anticipate the new changes. If the beach is not your thing, the complex has a swimming pool and tennis courts. We travel a long distance to come to this house every year and it is worth every hour of the drive. I highly recommend this property for your family vacation. The owner of the house is the top real estate agent in the area and is really helpful when it comes to properties in the area and things to do! As another renter said, this is a little piece of heaven in Lewes, DE. Enjoy your stay! We sure do.
Perfect location for a beach vacation getaway! Stay in a premier location nestled by beach grass and dunes, and the only beach-front community with a pool, tennis, private fishing pier and new community center. Walk or bike to Downtown Historic Lewes and its restaurants, ice cream shops, antique stores, boutiques, toy store, and more! Enjoy the quiet, calm sandy beach on the Delaware Bay - or bike into the Cape Henlopen State Park, a nature and recreation destination on the Atlantic Ocean. New park trails lead into Rehoboth Beach, just a few miles away, which is a major resort destination with fine dining, amusements, shopping, nightlife, boardwalk and fun!
