So many problems. Save the headache and STAY ELSESEWHERE. Communication poor from the start; we tried to stay an extra night, had to follow up repeatedly to get an answer. Should have bailed then. Arrived @3:45pm (check-in email said 3pm) to be told by cleaners to come back later. House sits on a busy highway w/dangerous access, a big snowdrift we barely made it over. 62 degrees inside; we used space heaters, turned thermostat to 75, but it never reached above 64. No firewood. Holes in floors, walls, ceiling let in drafts. We went looking for the hot tub, there isn’t one. Just a wooden box by the highway w/no water source or fuel. Plumbing and electrical are DIY disasters; exposed wiring, outlets not working, no hose to fill supposed “hot tub.” Tap water undrinkable, something we learned after arrival. Cooked dinner w/pans stored on open shelves, then watched a mouse run across them. Later we found mouse feces on the ‘clean’ couch-bed sheets for our 4yo. Exterior stairs covered in ice, railing wobbly, a lawsuit waiting to happen. No curtains on windows facing highway, headlights shine in your face all night. Found a gun & machete in the entryway: undisclosed weapons. VRBO refunded our entire stay, safety risk. Duvet was shredded, stuffing exposed, unwashed. In the AM, no running water. Couldn't use toilet. Host replied hours later saying it worked fine yesterday & would send someone. 5hrs later, no help. We boiled snow to flush toilet. 4yo said "worst hotel ever." I concur.
