Our Bourbon Trail Trip

  • 5 of 5

We had 3 couples at the cottage. It was perfect. The three bedrooms are each large with an attached bathroom with a shower. The kitchen, dining room and living room were also large and perfectly appointed. Pam was available for questions and stopped by to make sure we had what we needed. Our 4 days there couldn't have gone better.

Great house

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful house just outside of Lexington. Easy driving to Keeneland Horse Track, Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, Four Roses distilleries. Very secluded so no neighbors to bother or get bothered by. Perfect house for 3 couples to enjoy Central Kentucky.

Relaxing cottage stay

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage! We really enjoyed our stay. So much better than being stuck in a hotel room with 2 small children all week.

Charming, comfy and convenient

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at this comfy cottage far exceeded our expectations! Check in was easy and relaxed, wine tastings are just a walk across the street, rooms were spacious as well. Everything was thought of in this cottage and the upgrades made everything fall together perfectly.

Only hiccups were that you can hear the hum of the interstate from inside the house and the perfect front porch. But thats what you take for convenience!

Owners are responsive and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Comfortable, well-located, exactly as described

  • 5 of 5

This 3/3.5 house is exactly as described in the listing. It is a lovingly restored old farmhouse, with the emphasis on "lovingly," that easily sleeps six. We were two couples who stayed five days, did some of our own cooking and roamed the distilleries, vineyards and quaint towns each day. The house was very comfortable for relaxing after a hard day of bourbon tasting(!) and the kitchen well-appointed for cooking. Located in the country, it is close to Midway which has some very good restaurants. Lexington and Frankfort are a quick drive as are multiple distilleries (our reason for being there). An added bonus was being across the road from Equus Run Vineyard and their delightful tasting room (thank you Sonja) and grounds. As I said at the beginning, when reviewing the description of Saddlestone, its accommodations and amenities, I found it to be very accurate. You can book this house knowing exactly what you are getting.

There is a covered back porch with a view of old barns, trees and grounds and a covered front porch with a swing, additional seating and a view of the vineyards. Both are very comfortable for simply sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet. The busiest the road got was when four bicyclists came by!

We will stay here again when we return to explore more of Kentucky.

This place served as an amazing getaway for my wife's birthday. The house is spacious & we had no trouble with our 1 year old. It was amazing seeing the sunrise over the property, which is expansive & great for walks. Its also pretty centrally located for visiting Lexington or nearby distilleries. My inlaws were talking about our "next visit" before this one was even over.
