About Teresa Crews
I am the daughter of the owner. I live in Austin, Texas and teach kindergarten. I spent my summers on this lake with my cousins and grandparents. The owners are retired and spend their time at the lake home adjacent to this home. They both grew up on the lake and love sharing what they consider part of their heart and happiness with others.
Why Teresa Crews chose Pickens County
Both homes on the property were built by the owners late father. These homes have been in the family for generations. The families spent their summers water skiing, feeding the geese and watching the bluebirds nest right in their backyard. Winters were spent playing games, enjoying the view, sunsets, and spending quality time together with no agenda and no where else to be. The rental home has a balcony deck that gives you the perfect view of the sunset. It's truly magical and feels like a cozy, peaceful getaway! Not to mention it's only 15 minutes away from Clemson :D (GO TIGERS!)
What makes this House unique
With the owners being at their lake home often, they are more than happy to answer questions, help and assist in any way! They would also be your point of contact for any maintenance issues and can tend to that promptly. They have grown up on the lake and know all there is to know about water sports, fishing, local favorites, etc. Consider them your own personal local guide!

As soon as we pulled onto the property we knew this was going to be a great weekend. We came down for the Clemson Auburn game but found it hard to leave the property once we were there. The view from the back porch is incredible the dock is extremely relaxing.
The owners made us feel right at home and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They provided beach chairs and many games and activities that kept the weekend fun and entertaining. We definitely plan to return to the house for another Clemson game in the near future.
Views are breathtaking f/the balcony; just mind the nosy owners living next door
This home is not 15min from Clemson- the property is actually 15miles from Clemson which equates to 25-30min drive. Slightly misleading
The house itself was nice, clean, and had amazing views of the lake and sunrise/sunset. As the pictures in their post illustrate- nothing in the house has been updated since the 1980s- to include the bath towels, appliances, and peeling contact paper in the drawers.
This wasn't my favorite VRBO experience even though my family, friends and i had a fantastic time during the weekend. I found it very odd (and bordering on rude) that the owner insisted on mowing the lawn while my family and friends were eating lunch on the deck and relaxing on the dock on our last day. He also insisted on fixing the steps that lead to the dock in the middle of the day which again i found odd. The excuse he gave us was that he wasn't going to be back to the property until the following week and that was the only time he had to do anything. The response I got from the property manager after our stay was there wasn't much that could have been done about the maintenance and the owners had every right to be on the property to do maintenance if they wished. They just had no consideration for the fact that we were guests paying to be there.
We had a run-in regarding how many cars were in the driveway and people we had on the dock which lead to them charging us more for something they had/have no proof of (ie claiming people were staying in the house for two days to which i provided the other VRBO reservation confirmation for my cousins who were staying downtown Clemson upon her request- still no response). The plan for Sunday was to be in a boat on the water all day. We contacted the boat rental company recommended by the owner to confirm a boat which was then canceled on us 2pm the day before which lead the to another colleague of his renting us a boat whose starter died 1hr into us being on the water. We spent the day waiting on the dock for another boat/solutions that didn't come until after 5m.
Alas- instead of trying to salvage a relationship with us being their guests/renters they decided to nickel and dime us. It was laughable when the property manager called me with the owners (i.e. her parents) being 30ft away. As my cousin even pointed out (who's a VRBO rental owner herself) coming over and just having an adult conversation with me would have defused the entire situation and cleared up any perceived wrongdoing.
Guests took great care of the home.
In regards to any dissatisfaction. Any actions the owners took were in compliance of both the RENTAL AGREEMENT and HOUSE RULES that were read and agreed to upon arrival from guests. The owners had been out of town and drove in around 2 am to see that there were 6 cars (when 3 is the max... as stated in the agreement and rules). They were confused as to why there should have only been 3 cars and noticed that there were 4 guests over. They asked me to confirm with them and when I contacted Beth she let me know that there were extra guests. After re sending her the parts of the RENTAL AGREEMENT and HOUSE RULES (see below) that had been breached she insisted that the extra guests were at the fault of the owners since their boat broke down and the owners had recommended the rental company (same company recommended to all guests). The guests asked the owners to borrow tools to try and fix the two boats that broke down in their care themselves. The owner (who owns his own boat) strongly advised them from tampering with it and to instead call the boat company. They wanted the owners to drive them to the rental in his boat (an ordeal that would have taken a few hours and as said above he needed to mow the lawn and attend to maintenance of the homes) Myself nor the owners were ever notified of extra guests. Below are the terms in which the guests had FULL prior knowledge of and agreement to...

Our family immensely enjoyed our stay and time together on Lake Keowee! This property is extremely well kept and the cleanest place I have ever stayed. The views and sunsets are exceptional. Teresa, Gerald and Beth were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Thank you all for making our stay a truly unforgettable one!!
We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay! We loved having you as guests. The property was left in wonderful condition. We look forward to future bookings with you! :D
It was excellent
My family came to Lake Keowee for vacation. The house was very cozy and the view of the lake was outstanding. Gerald (the owner) was very helpful in directing us to amenities of the lake and activities in the area. Beyond that he was polite and nice just to talk to. We all had an excellent time thanks the owner and this wonderful house.
The hosts are awesome, the house is
First it's probably the best owners I never met
Always a word, a smile, ready to help and very flexible
The house was very clean and very well organize
The lake view and the docks are great
If there is one area of progress, the beds a bit small and not the best ones if you are very sensible about mattresss quality
