Very Short Walk To the Village/Gondola!This is a very beautiful vacation rental that has been updated and has a 4 star rating! New features include: brand-new carpet, "tile-looking" linoleum in walkways and kitchen, and all new furniture . This is a 1-bedroom plus loft unit with 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, balcony, outside complementary porch closet with snow toys, microwave, gas fireplace, 3 TVs (all flat screens), 2 DVD players (one in the living room and in the bedroom), DVD library, BBQ, stereo with a cd player, 3 phones and free high speed wireless internet access. This unit has a wonderful view of the Sherwin Mountains and the Village at Mammoth. The living room has a queen fold-out couch, the bedroom has 2 single beds and the loft has a California King size bed (all beds have brand new bedding). There are a few stairs to reach this unit and it has 2 levels inside. The entry level has the living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom and a bathroom. Upstairs is the loft with another bathroom. This rental is across the street from the Village Gondola for easy access to Canyon Lodge. Ski back to the complex via the "Village Ski Back Trail" (conditions permitting). This condo is cozy and immaculately clean. It’s a 5 minute walk into the village. Our 3 and 5 yo walked to the gondola everyday. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice Condo. Good Location.

Condo was wonderful, but the fees are outrageous! We were charged a $125 cleaning fee, and we used none of the amenities in the condo. Additionally, there were a myriad of potential charges that made us careful not to touch or use anything in fear of triggering these charges.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The condo IS wonderful. Our fees are well within the norms for Mammoth Lakes. The cost of your departure clean was presented to you up-front, pre-booking, and you signed off on it in your contract. The cleaning fee is not dependent on whether or not you used any amenities in the building. $125 is the going rate in Mammoth for a full departure clean for this size unit. We would not be able to stay in business charging "outrageous" cleaning fees. We charge the same cleaning fees everyone else in this market charges. Mammoth Lakes is a small resort town and it is very expensive to live here. Housekeepers have to be able to live and those jobs are more highly paid in Mammoth than in other parts of California. We make $0 on cleaning fees, charging you exactly what the cleaning company charges us. Regarding possible fines: I always have a hard time with people complaining about fees that we didn't actually charge them. And I don't think its fair to hear a complaint from a guest for the first time in a review. You never contacted us or gave us any chance to address anything. We didn't fine you any money, so I am not sure what the complaint is... Yes we include possible fines in our contract. This is to ensure that renters know what our rules are, and the potential consequences for violating them. (You were shown all of this information before making your booking, and had to sign off on it in your contract). Mostly that is because not following these rules can result in out of pocket costs to us in the form of property damage, increased utility costs, interfering with our departure/arrival schedule, etc. Mammoth has destructive bears, invasive critters, freezing pipes, and all kinds of possible problems that are unique to being at 10,000 ft above sea level. Guests who don't check out on time prevent our staff from turning condos over, resulting in delayed check in for the next guest (who will undoubtedly want some refund if they can't check in on time). When a departing guest violates clearly stated rules and triggers events that cost us money, then yes we would pass those costs on to the guest. Our rules are necessary and we use discretion when applying fines to departing guests. We are not in the business of ruining our customer relationships. We just have an obligation to the owner of this home to protect their property and to all our guests to maintain our efficient schedule so we can deliver for everyone as promised.

A perfect place for my family to enjoy our vacation in Mammoth.

My family really enjoyed our stay! The location next to the village was great although you will hear the traffic since it is a busy area. But the trade-off of walking to the village was worth a little noise. The lay-out and size of the condo are really nice. There are a few little fix-its that need attention but the new owners seem on top of things and are planning to update and possibly remodel the condo.
