The place was very nicely decorated and very clean. The owner went out of her way to make the stay extremely comfortable. Private location and very quiet inside and the relaxing sound of the rush of the nearby stream outside.

She was a great host! She came and greeted me when I arrived. We loved the roaring creek, the boardwalk, and the layout of the place. She had everything you could possibly need, like a hair dryer and toiletries, and a myriad of blankets and towels. The fridge was also stocked with some food staples, like milk and eggs and oj, and the pantry had some snacks in it, and she provides some baked goods and a bottle of wine. Our dogs loved running up and down the boardwalk and it was a beautiful place to host a little family dinner. The kitchen has all of the spices and cookware you need. We will definitely be back!

We absolutely love staying here, our second visit. This place is so relaxing! It has everything you need. It has a wonderful hostess, Lynn who provided us with delicious muffin on arrival. The decor is rustic/sophisticated Tuscan old world Spanish/Italian which I love! It has a beautiful patio over looking a mountain creek, a perfect place for your morning coffee or after dinner glass of wine. This is our favorite place to staynear Hayesville when visiting family. We are planning another visit in February!

We really enjoyed our stay ! The chateau was very clean. We were greeted with muffins and a card welcoming us. The kitchen was so well stocked with anything you could need. Lynn was wonderful to work with. She certainly goes over and above for her guests. We loved the creek beside the chateau. There is a wonderful deck to enjoy. Unfortunately , it rained everyday we were there. We look forward to staying again next time we go visit family.

Property and home were just beautiful, so well appointed. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was so well equipped. Hostess is a love. Lovely muffins were a treat. My stay was just not long enough.

Was a lovely little space with more than enough amenities!Everything came fully stocked and the host even had items in the fridge upon our arrival!The outdoor area was amazing and such a lovely way to wind down an evening!Absolutely breathtaking views and the stream sounds are constant and beautiful! The whole little house was perfect for a night stay and had games and cards and puzzles and everything you need to cook!

This place is beautiful! Unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to stay longer, but we really enjoyed our evening by the creek. It’s very peaceful and reminds us of a European villa. The unit is clean, comfortable, full of little details, and inviting. Our host was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the complementary muffins and coffee! We would definitely consider staying here again.

Lovely place to stay

My husband and I had a lovely time at the Chateau on Compass Creek. Lynn was remarkably gracious and welcoming! We were very comfortable in the apartment - lots of seating, workspace, and room to relax. We loved our time outside on the deck, listening to the creek! We found good things to do in the area - brew pubs, hiking at Rabbit Mountain trails, beautiful views. We definitely plan to come back to this wonderful home!!

Home

This was my 4 year old daughters first trip to the mountains of NC to see where her dad was born and raised. It was important to me to find a spot that truly showcased my youth there. The seclusion, the mountains, the streams, and listening to the calls of a whip-poor-will as you enjoy your evening fire. Lynn has truly put her heart and soul into this place and created a magical getaway.

No place we would rather be

We vacation in North Carolina usually 3 times a year. This is where we stay. Lynn is amazing. She makes our stay complete, you couldn’t ask for a better hostess. The property is so well kept and such a relaxing space. We will continue to come to this wonderful getaway as often as we can. Feed like our second home

Amazing getaway in the mountains

My wife and I needed a place to rest after a day spent kayaking on lake chatuge and were delighted by this beautiful creekside getaway. Lyn was very sweet and hospitable, the decor and atmosphere was very vintage new orleans and nature inspired. Sitting by the fire and hearing the rushing river right on the back deck was relaxing and resfreshing. We would love to return :)

Lovely and Relaxing Location

We so enjoyed our stay. The host, Lynn, was so nice and friendly and so easy to communicate with and work with. She has thought of everything anyone could possilbly need and we really appreciated her generosity! The apartment is very welcoming and the patio area next to the creek was just divine! We enjoyed eating out there and relaxing after a long day. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!

Secret River Hideaway

Me and my husband loved staying here! The deck is right beside the river and it's a perfect place to just relax. Beautiful plants, landscaping and flowers everywhere! The house is very homey and clean. Lots of little games you can play or puzzles. A few basics in the fridge and a well stocked kitchen. The suite is a basement, and the hot water heater is for the entire house, so for a while the night we stayed the hot water was out. It was late and I really wanted a shower so I waited about 30 minutes and I barely had enough hot water to take and finish the shower. But overall very happy with the stay and would recommend!
