I stayed here for 3 weeks for work and it was perfect. I don’t know how they thought of everything you may need but they did, without it being cluttered. I think it’s best for one person because the bed is pretty small, the shower has only enough hot water for one and the coffee maker only makes one cup at a time (not a Keurig). The fact that it has a washer/dryer makes it perfect for longer stays. They even have a service that shovels the snow from your walkways! I would stay here again without hesitation and would highly recommend it to others.
It was delightful. Nicely decorated, wonderful view, I would love to stay there again. However, the water heater did not give much hot water for a shower. Showers had to be quick.
Cozy little cottage overlooking the water. Spotlessly clean and well appointed. We have enjoyed our stay and day adventuring. Thank you Sara, for sharing your lovely home.
Overall excellent. I’d suggest illuminating cottage number. Difficult to find the correct cottage since none have illuminated numbers
We had a fantastic week at Belgrade Cottage. It's the best-equipped "tiny house" we've ever stayed in. Everything is top-notch: nice linens, decent cooking gear, good mattresses, you name it. The location is awesome: not only is the cottage centrally-situated as a staging area to explore a good chunk of Maine's central coast, it's a lovely location in and of itself, right on the water and just across the bridge from arguably the best lobster rolls in Maine. Five stars from us, definitely, and I expect we will return.
My husband and I had the privilege to stay in this lovely little cottage for a week in October. It was truly one of the most memorable stays I have ever had! This little cottage by the sea was just as described, and was spotless. The layout of the cottage makes it nice and roomy for 2 people. The kitchen had all one needed to make a full meal. The refrigerator is a little small, but certainly held all of our groceries with room to spare. I was so impressed with the clever storage ideas to make the most of the small space. The bed is very comfortable, and it was so nice to wake up every morning with sunlight flooding into the bedroom via the high window in the bedroom! LOVELY!
The week we spent in Maine, was, apparently, a rare one for mid-October. It was in the 70s and sunny everyday but one, and when the sun set, it cooled off into the 40s. We quickly discovered that there are few things more relaxing or beautiful than sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the late afternoons, watching the sun set beneath the river.
We did things from Owls Head to Popham Beach during our week, and Wiscasset was a wonderful jumping-off point for all of our activities.
Thank you, Sara, for sharing your special little cottage with us! We will remember our visit here forever!
This area of Mid-coast Maine provides ready access to seaside activities, cultural sites, dining and shopping. The iconic Red's Eats Lobster Shack is located just across the bridge from the cottage, and the village of Wiscasset offers a variety a dining establishments within a mile's walk or drive. Just a short walk down the road, Fort Edgecomb, a waterfront historic site, may be easily explored on foot. Farther afield, lighthouses, a maritime museum, art museums and other cultural sites are available for exploration. Visitors may also enjoy the many outdoor activities of the area, including beaches, whale watches, oyster cruises, hiking and kayaking. Shopping enthusiasts will find locally made pottery, gift shops and antique stores in nearby Damariscotta, while the flagship L.L. Bean store provides the centerpiece of a day-long shopping excursion to the Freeport Outlet Center.
