Borgo S. Clara - Esterina by Wonderful Italy

Between the historic centre of Cisternino and the seaside town of Torre Canne is located the Borgo Santa Clara complex, immersed in a unique setting, between land, sky and sea, in an authentic and genuine local context: a daily fresco of Puglia that enchants by offering unique emotions.



The complex has a private furnished outdoor area and a shared swimming pool with the other 3 apartments. The Esterina apartment is developed within 3 trulli cones, a typical Puglian structure. It consists of a living area with table and double sofa bed, kitchen, one bathroom and two double bedrooms, thus being able to comfortably accommodate up to 6 people.



*The shared swimming pool is open from 7 April to 7 November. The use of a swimming cap may be required.

Cisternino is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It is nestled in the Valle d'Itria, is rich in trulli and boasts a renowned historic centre. The most valuable historic buildings are the Norman-Swabian Tower and the Church of San Nicola, known as the Mother Church, both majestic and in the central square. The whitewashed houses, alleyways and courtyards are very evocative, as are the typical flower-adorned balconies, which together with a plate of typical roasted bombette and a glass of local wine reinforce the sense of belonging to the community.

These are places where time seems to have stood still and where it is still possible to enjoy the authenticity of a bygone era.

The countryside of Cisternino extends into the heart of the Valle d'Itria. Cisternino is at the centre of southern Puglia. Cisternino is nature, history, culture, food and wine, and the sacred and profane. Cisternino is tradition. Cisternino is beauty.

A few kilometres away is Ceglie Messapica, a centre of tradition and food and wine, Ostuni, a village known to the world as the White City, Alberobello whose famous trulli have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. About 25 km to the north we find the Archaeological Park of Egnazia, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, ancient fishing villages with evocative historic centres. To the north (70 km) we find Bari, the gateway to the Orient, whilst heading south we first encounter the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, then Brindisi before reaching Lecce, the capital of the Baroque. Moving westwards there is Taranto, the heart of Magna Graecia and finally Matera, characteristic for its sassi and European capital of culture.



The nearest airports and ports are Brindisi (50 km) and Bari (80 km).
