The condo itself was nice, I did have to let management know the master bedroom electrical system needs work.. the main lights did not work, the outlets did not work, the bedside lamps would "flicker" if worked(they wanted me to send them a video, which I did not- they will see for themselves when we checked out!) The bathroom did not work, making it hard to get ready! They could invest in nicer pillows that aren't flat. So, if you rent this place bring extra pillows! My family flew and did not have the ability to do that. Otherwise, location and everything else was good:)

Nice condo

Right on the beach and walking distance to the shopping center. Nice place to relax and watch the water from the balcony. Plenty of supplies to cook your meals if you choose. Beds have very firm mattresses. Had a musty smell, maybe from carpets or high humidity. Door lock sticks. Told them about problems, maybe they will repair before next guests. Overall, enjoyed it!

Unfortunate booking.

The unit is an overall dump. The interior walls are coming apart, pee stains on master bedroom mattress, wi fi didn't work, guest bathroom smelled like mildew. The plus was that the a/c worked well. I would never stay in this unit again in its current condition.

A week in HH

Overall, stay was great. Condo needs cosmetic repairs ( walls) and updating though. Check in / welcome information is incorrect and needs updating. Network log in and password are not correct. There is no need for the pool gate code or the outside bathroom buildings code. This needs to be updated. It would have been nice to have some dishwasher detergent and extra toilet paper.

Dated But Good

4PM is the check in and no flexibility there. It was 109 degrees and coming in from out of state 15 minute early check in would have been nice. The elevator was an oven and surprised we did not pass out. The condo itself is dated but everything worked fine. The pull out couch was a rough night sleep. The air conditioning in the rooms needed more. Great access to beach. Did not try pool since it was standing room only. For the price I was expecting a little more up to date.

Great Location but This Unit Needs Some TLC

We came for a long weekend in June. The condo was in a great location with beautiful views, but we did have some issues. Because it is a keyed unit, renters have to stop by the rental office which is mid island coming and going. Most companies will text when the unit is ready if early check-in is possible, but keys are not even made available before 3pm, so if you go to the beach near the property, you have to drive well past Shelter Cove to get keys from VTrips and then return them there as well. I called on two different days explaining that the WiFi network listed (OcDunes 404) was not even an available option. Both times I was told a “work order” would be put in, but when we left, the problem had not been addressed. Also, there are no washers/dryers in the unit. There are coin operated w/d in the hall by the elevator, so come prepared with quarters. The unit itself has not been updated in decades. The bathroom sinks are very low, old paneling has been painted and is peeling away from the walls, and mattress pads are worn and not clean. I am usually not very critical of vacation rentals because I truly appreciate someone else allowing me to use their home, but this listing needs a lot of attention.

Bait and Switch

Location of the property was great, right on the beach and close to coligny square. The listing showed multiple pools but we were only allowed to swim in one. The check in instructions had a gate code for the pools however two pools required braclets and the one we could actually swim in didn't require a code at all so I'm still unsure what the code was for. Called the property management office and the man that helped was nice but they had no clue about the details of their own listing or what that code was for. During the phone call the manager said they would remove the pictures from the listing that showed multiple pools. That did nothing for me since we were already there expecting multiple pools. Highly disappointed that we didn't have access to all of the pools on the property. The condo itself was over priced for how dated it was in my opinion. The wood paneling in the hallway and living was falling off the wall. The patio furniture was old wicker furniture that was literally on its last leg and falling apart. We were given one extra trash bag for our stay. The property management office that we are required to pick up and drop the keys off is not located on the property and slightly out of the way.

Good location, very dated

We chose this due to proximity to the beach which was excellent but this particular condo was incredibly dated. The layout was awkward, walls are warped, ceiling peeling, linens were not great and the pool shown in the photos from the balcony are actually not the ones that are accessible for this complex. It was functional for our primary goal of beach but would not choose this property again.

False advertisement

The pictures use to sell you on renting this property is not accurate at all. The pools and clubs house shown in this advertisement is not the pool you are allowed to use in these condo association. The condo itself is in a great location. The condo was very dirty though it appeared clean upon arrival. The bedding was in very bad shape. The kitchen cook ware is in need of replacement. I would not rent here again.

didnt meet expectations

The carpet in the bedrooms was very outdated, worn and the rooms smelled funny. The linens did not smell fresh. Stains on the ceiling and the living room wall. Definitely needs a touch up

Spring Break

The property was sufficient for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We were able to enjoy the beach, pool and local restaurants.

Great area.. nice price.. not so clean

We loved the area and the proximity to the beach and pool. Great for people with little kids. The beach bar next door was a nice plus. Washer and dryer is on the same floor which was very nice. Unfortunately, the place was not cleaned properly. Countertops still had crumbs on it, dishes had old food stuck to them, coffee pot still had old coffee in it, random hairs on the toilets and sink, two wasp nests on the balcony and little Beatles that hung out by the door and in the hallway. Bring your own Clorox wipes and be prepared to clean before you settle in. Make sure you bring any thing you need to cook or clean as they provide little to nothing. We had to buy everything except the Utensils and salt and pepper once we got settled including toilet paper (you would think they could provide an extra roll for a 6 night stay).

Vacation

The property location was perfect. We were able to ride bikes to dinner and the grocery. The beach wasn’t too crowded. The condo was clean and well equipped. I would definitely rent it again.

Great beachfront condo for the price!

We enjoyed our stay. Nice view from the balcony, plenty of seating in the living area, and overall very clean. Extra linens were provided which is helpful at the beach. The living room air conditioner was replaced while we were there with little disruption to our stay (there were 4 fans and bedroom air units worked fine). There are not enough parking spaces for the size of the condo complex and we had to sometimes drive around until someone left or park on the curb- that was our only complaint.

Pandemic Getaway

Overall, our experience was ok. The photos are a bit misleading. The beautiful pools that are right there are not part of the property. It was disappointing to find out that we could not access them because they belonged to the Hilton. I was sold on the pictures and that was one big reason I booked this condo. The pool that we did have access to was very small. It was clean, but not much space for social distancing. The AC unit in the kitchen area was broken and I did not find this out until I was picking up the keys from the rental company. I asked if it was going to be repaired while we were there and was told they didn’t know and a part was being ordered. Little did we know that a package at the front door was the part. There was not an in-unit washer/dryer. There was a community laundry area. The condo itself was functional and clean. It really could use some updating though. The beach was beautiful and was very easy to access. Not sure I’d stay here again. It was ok.

DO NOT STAY HERE! MOLD & BED BUGS

Horrible! MOLD & BED BUGS!!!! False advertisement! My husband and I have been coming to HHI for 7 years and decided to bring family for the 1st time, so booked somewhere different. This place is a dump!!!! You can smell mold before you even walk up the steps!!! I had even called the management company to confirm that the most recent "google reviews " had been corrected, they confirmed yes!!! This place is a DUMP!!!

Clean but needs some work

Great location, clean rooms, some plumbing issues, a few lights burnt out, and the door handle to the balcony was hanging by a nail when we arrived (so it was difficult to access the balcony). Overall we had a we had a wonderful time.

Vacation 2019

Didn’t quite meet my expectations. The small bedroom smelled of mold which I believe is coming from the carpet. There was hair in the master bathroom sink and shower. I just about broke my arm trying to open and close the sliding door to the deck. The twin mattresses need replacing. Last issue was that I reported a wasp nest on the the railing just outside of our front door. It took two days before someone came and removed it. With all that being said we did enjoy our stay. A little maintenance would make this unit much nicer.

Awesome Location

The location is fantastic and has a nice view of the pool and beach. The condo has a bit of a gross musty smell and could use nicer bedding. The door lock is very hard to turn. Other than the outdated bedding and wallpaper the furnishings are nice, the property is great and it’s convenient to be so close to the beach.

Hilton Head - Ocean Dunes

The family had a great experience in Hilton Head (first time there)...and I would go back...just not to this location. Condo had a great location and there is plenty to do. If you're a golfer, don't go in August as it seems they aerate their greens this month! The condo itself was fine and functional but very dated...it needed a serious update. Only gripe was that the air conditioning was probably original and did not dehumidify well. There was a musty smell that was prevalent the moment you walked in the property.

It worked great for us

Perfect, affordable location

We very much enjoyed our stay at Ocean Dunes Villas Unit 404. It was right on the beach, has a nice pool, and it close to Coligny shops and restaurants. The unit itself is clean and was large enough for our family of 5 (3 teenagers). It seems like for a few hundred dollars the owners could make a couple of upgrades that would really make a big difference (add a key pad or lockbox instead of having to check-in 15 minutes away and worrying about a key, upgrade the bedding and pillows in the master bedroom, and switch out the carpet to tile—just a germ thing for me). We appreciated the box fans for cooling and white noise. It really was a great week. Thanks for the stay!
