We cannot relay what the perfect location this building is to all that downtown has to offer in the way of sights, sounds and FOOD! We actually had a lot of fun using the found old and original newspapers in the building to use throughout the condos for each one to be "themed" a different section of the paper. Not sure if you really looked at those framed old photographs in the elevator lobby on the second floor, but that huge block of granite is still up there, but we guess the eagle flew or blew off in one of the hurricanes from years past. Thank you Jessica for staying in "The Picayune Building" the original location of the "Times-Picayune Newspaper" from the 1880's to 1969. We had so much fun working with the condo owners on our "themes" in choosing items and based on different sections from the newspaper. All of those framed newspaper prints were found in the basement as well at those photographs of the building in the elevator lobby, there in the second floor. That huge granite block as the keystone at the top of the building is still up there, but sadly the eagle must have blown away during a hurricane from decades ago. A few years ago there were bad reviews about the beds and now that they have these new memory foam mattresses, everybody just loves them and how comfortable they are. So glad you had an enjoyable stay in New Orleans and to finally have one of our favorite music festivals back on again, after the 2 year hiatus. It truly is the best location for all that New Orleans has to offer, for all the sights, attractions, shopping and foods that are plentiful here. True, there is no associated parking with this building, built in the 1880's, so we have no control over the pricing that those off site pay parking garages or open lots have, but at least, one garage is directly across the Camp Street for convenience. We cannot express enough what a perfect location The Picayune Building is to Morial Convention Center, Superdome, Smoothie King Center Arena, WWII Museum and so much more. Renting our condos as opposed to a hotel room, well there is just no comparison. Here, you can share a room and not be sitting on top of each other, like in a tiny hotel room. You have the option of cooking your own foods in a full size kitchen or just needing to re-heat take-out or the scrumptious foods from that new favorite restaurant you brought back. Yes, very walkable to anywhere in the French Quarter or Central Business District for food, fun, nightlife, food, concerts, football, basketball, events, and did I mention the FOOD?

So close to all of the places to go, see and foods to eat, while away from the Bourbon Street chaos so you can get some sleep. Glad you liked those beds. We get asked a lot what they are, where we got them... Foam Factory! We had such a fun time ourselves working with each condo owner of the building with the decorators to "theme" each condo based on the sections of the original occupant of this historic building, the "Times-Picayune Newspaper". All of those framed newspaper pages were found in the basement in large tubes, as were many of the photographs and a few of the typewriters. My favorite is the framed print ( we blew it up for a better picture) on the second floor, just as you step out of the elevator of the front of the building, the print side of the paper "The Picayune" and the "jobs" side. That solid block of granite at the top is still there, but the eagle has blown away during some hurricane from years past. This ISs the best location for downtown New Orleans, so very walkable to all there is to do, see, and eat while here. This two bedroom / 2 bath condo is very desirable to have a king bed in each bedroom. We don't usually leave condiments in the condos as we would never know what past guest would have left in condiments. Foil / plastic wrap, we don't have many that cook in the condos, because we have such awesome foods here. Wish you would have called about more hangers, I am sure we could have brought some to you during your stay. Always, always call if you have questions that we could assist you with.
