We enjoyed our stay at the Secret Garden. The gardens are beautiful, the pool was clear, and indoor accommodations were neat and clean. It’s a bit of a drive into La Fortuna for the “tourist” activities but we particularly enjoyed one of the local restaurants, and went there more than once after a day of sightseeing.Keylor, our host was very accommodating and instructions re arrival and check-in were clear and simple.Thanks for a great stay!

Great property and location

My family and I enjoyed the pool, the sounds of nature, comfortable beds, La Fortuna excursions, etc. Loved it and would do it again.

We LOVED this place! And our host was so responsive to everything! We stayed here for the first part of our trip then went to Punta Leona, Playa Blanco. Knowing what we know now, we would have stayed here longer before traveling to the beach. The house was very spacious for the 6 of us. We loved the pond in our back yard and spent a lot of time there. My kids caught so many tilapia which we threw back. We used the kayakes and paddle boards. There were banana, almond, mango, and cacoa trees. I loved going down to the table by the pond with my coffee as the sun came up and the peacocks that were roosting in the trees would come down one by one and walk right by. We were so close to all our excursions. The Arenal volcano, La Fortuna Waterfall, Hot Springs, the boys got picked up from there to go zip lining and got dropped back off, and the wonderful coffee and chocolate tour at Finca La Esperanza. All highly recommended! There are stores and sodas just a few minutes away. Honestly, this is such a great deal and makes us want to come back. The drive took about 2.5 hrs from SJO but the views along the route made it seem shorter. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Home and Gardens

This house is spacious. The grounds are lovely. The outdoor areas and lighted trees are perfect The pool is wonderful. I could have stayed here for a month

Nice getaway

We had many activities plan in la fortuna. This was close enough that we could get there easily, yet in a smaller town. We went to the local soda for breakfast and another for ice cream each evening. Everyone was super friendly and we enjoyed the whole trip.

Beautiful property

We loved the property, it was beautiful and spacious. The WiFi was a little touch and go and it was at least 20 minutes to get into la Fortuna. We would definitely recommend, but just be aware you will be doing a lot of back and forth driving to get into town and the nearby activities.

Excellent!

The house was great. Spent a lot of time in the pool. Everything was very clean. About a 20min drive into La Fortuna. The property is located right beside a pond full of beautiful ducks and geese. One of the neighbours even had Peafowl who loved to wander into our yard. House had 3 full bedrooms.

Fell Well Short of Expectations - More Like Glamping than a House

Love the pool

Great place to stay, kitchen was stocked nicely! The house was also very clean! We enjoyed the beautiful pool. It’s in a nice quiet neighborhood. It is a little further from La Fortuna so just be aware that you will need to drive about 15-20 minutes into town and back. We didn’t mind the drive at all. It’s surrounded by many cool things to do and see! The outdoor furniture wasn’t super comfy but we still very much enjoyed the outdoor area. The beds weren’t super comfy either (maybe with a little better pillows.) Loved the pond with all the birds and iguanas. The peacock was also fun to watch and listen to.

Great Location! Close to La Fortuna

Great place with lots of beds! The outdoor yard is AMAZING! Looked pretty clean at first, but was not super clean. Had an issue with the toilet, but I think that was our fault. whoops! They came and fixed it quickly! We were in the pool almost every night. it was cool and felt GREAT!

Reconsider your stay here. Its a dirty place with no owner accountability

I condensed this note to fit here that was sent to the owners. In the past 3 weeks have not acknowledged our issues or concerns. If you want the full transcript let me know. There are nicer cleaner places in the area. Do not get caught like we have been. There was no dish soap. The house rules sheet was also very sticky and the sugar has some kind of critters in it. There was no extra toilet paper left (the rolls were basically empty upon arrival in both bathrooms) So I have personally expensed $$ for toilet paper Your pool turned my blonde haired daughter hair green and has had to take multiple showers to try and do something with her GREEN hair. You have a copper issue in the pool The pool is also dirty, it’s apparent it is not cleaned often or well due to the algae that is visible in many areas within the pool. BBQ grill is rusted which, there is no fuel/wood to bbq or any bbq utensils (note - in your utensils bin are some dirty utensils). Lastly, and this is unfortunately extremely gross, seriously. The bathroom between the three bedrooms just reeks of urine. Went in there my self and its over powering. There was urine and pubic hairs on the toilet and seat. Not acceptable. Obviously it was never cleaned. The level of overall cleanliness is lacking. The cookware and utensils were dirty and pealing.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à la maison "Secret Garden La Fortuna". L'endroit offre tout ce qu'il faut pour un séjour agréable. La maison est située dans un domaine de quelques maisons qui entourent un lac privé débordant de vie : iguane, canards, paons, lézards, etc.. C'est vraiment un endroit magique à 20 minutes au sud de La Fortuna. Il y a une épicerie Maxi Pali pas trop loin, quelques petits "sodas" sympas à distance de marche. Les lits sont super confortables et on se sent en sécurité. La maison était propre et l'hôte sympathique et aidant.J'enlève une étoile car il manquait quelques commodités : pas de papier de toilette en extra, pas de serviette pour essuyer la vaisselle, pas d'eau chaude à l'évier de la cuisine, quantité limitée de serviettes de corps et aucune serviette de plage pour la piscine. La piscine était sur minuterie et fonctionnait la journée de notre arrivée mais n'a pas fonctionné les autres jours. Comme nous avions beaucoup d'activités, je n'ai pas demandé à l'hôte de régler la situation. Je suis cependant convaincu qu'elle l'aurait fait, la communication était très bonne. Autre petit bémol, le réseau wifi était instable et fonctionnait pas très bien en soirée (probablement une surcharge puisque ça semble être un réseau partagé entre plusieurs maisons autour du lac).Au final, nous avons adoré notre séjour au Secret Garden et vous pouvez louer sans hésiter.

Incroyable cour extérieur

l'intsallation extérieur est paradiziac. l'environnement, les oiseaux et le paysagement toute etais wow. Deux salles de bain parfait et fonctionnel... Manque juste un peux d'info comment utiliser la douche.. mais les propriétaire nous ont expliqué et toute étais ok. Parcontre: Besoin d'un net pour nettoyage de piscine car au retour de la journée plein de chose tombe mais on avait rien pour les ramasser, ont a emprunté celui du voisin :) et manque une air climatiser dans la piece principal.. très chaud le matin si ont dors avec les portes fermé. Je reprendrais cette maison a mon retour au Costa Rica quans même sans hésitation. merci !!
