Wonderful holiday in Seilance

A charming house in a beautiful village. Perfect stay to relax and to do excursions in the surrounding area. The house offers many retreats for all family members.

Another Wonderful Visit!

Always great to be back in our favorite villa in beautiful Seillans. This was our 10th time here and as always we enjoyed every aspect of the property, especially the perfect location overlooking the pétanque courts, our favorite restaurant,La Gloire de mon Pere, and the village itself. With plenty of bedrooms for everyone and the large dining room, it's always the ideal place for our large group of friends. We can't wait to return next year.

Quintessential French Living in the Heart of Seillans

An old but, comfortable and roomy manor house in the perfect location to enjoy all the charm of Seillans, but also the nearby villages and the natural wonder of the Vernon Gorge. We were able to cook and barbecue our meals with food from the local markets, but also enjoyed eating at the variety of excellent cafès and restaurants in the village. The owner and the property manager were super responsive, which made for a stress free and fun week. We are already trying to plan our next visit there and bring our grandchildren.

Wonderful stay at beautiful villa In Seillans

My friend and I stayed in this villa in 2015 and wanted to return. We invited 5 friends to join us and we had the most wonderful week. The villa is just wonderful—comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner outside under the arbor drinking local wine from a nearby Seillans winery. The hosts recommended several day trips to us that we enjoyed so much. I highly recommend this villa and I hope to return someday soon. I would love to rent it for more than one week!

First of all the location is incredible- both within Seillans and the proximity to travel to either the mountains or the French Riviera. There is a square near the house where the town hosts events and concerts- a one of a kind experience of kid friendly community, music and fun.The house itself has multiple rooms to relax, a wonderful patio and pool for enjoying an afternoon dip and cocktail.One of our favorite experiences however was dining outside- we cooked on the Argentinian grill almost every night and ate our dinner on the outdoor table. It was a wonderful opportunity for connection and fellowship with our family and close friends.

Beautiful and convenient location for Provence but property is tired - not so much the building itself as the area and house itself is wonderfully and historically old - but fridge / beds / mattresses are old and need replacing - outdoor pool lighting not working, swimming pool net has hole, pool light in pool broken, pool umbrella broken, toaster broken etc - So did not impact the holiday but not in keeping with premium price and positioning of the property

Ben, Lisa and I are pleased that you and your family had an enjoyable holiday. We are, however, disappointed that the issues you’ve raised diminished your overall experience. We would like to comment on the specific issues that you have raised: The swimming pool light was broken, which we apologise for. It was not replaced as the pool would have needed 30% of its water to be removed to enable the bulb to be replaced, which I did not think appropriate. The pool terraces lighting has been decommissioned and was replaced by a system of movable lighting units, which are safer and more flexible than the old mains-based lighting system. The movable, re chargeable, lighting units are stored in the house for guests to use around the pool terraces as they require. I’m sorry that this was not explained clearly to you and we certainly should have removed the old mains units. The fridge/freezer is two years old and is in good working order. The temperature problem you encountered upon arrival was caused by the fridge requiring defrosting and a deep clean after the guests preceding you had left. As a result, the fridge had not had time to recover to its normal working temperature before your arrival. The toaster is not working and one of the parasols is damaged, which we apologise for. If this had been addressed with our guardian both would have been immediately replaced. The pool net has also come away from its frame for a length of 4cm but is still entirely functional. Our pool cleaner, who visits twice a week, also uses his own equipment. Finally, we have a range of hard and soft mattresses on our 12 beds in the house, which I assume caused the problem. We are sorry if you were uncomfortable. We would have gladly swapped mattresses around to find one that was more comfortable for you, or bought a new one, if we were made aware of the problem at the time. I do appreciate that my comments on your issues may appear as defensive. This is not my intent, as we take all issues that are raised by our guests seriously – recognising that things do go wrong sometimes. However, in this instance, I do feel it appropriate to comment on each of the issues, given the severe impact they clearly had on you and your overall experience. Thanks for the feedback, we will take it all on board and try to address the issues your encountered where possible. Best wishes Andy & Lisa

Exceptional experience

This old charming big house in perfect location (centre of medieval small town) became home for a week for our big company of 12 people: three families with small children. Best things: pool, lots of space, many dishes and glasses, all the equipment you need, amazing views from the windows. So the stay was very comfortable. Things to keep in mind: no air conditioner (upper floors were warm, but there were air fans in each room), lots of stairs, smell of an old house. Best for those who are looking for authentic experience, Provance feeling. Managers are very friendly, easy speak in english, react fast if you have a problem. Overall, we all realllly liked this villa. We made lots of good memories there :)

lovely house

Meget dejligt hus med god plads , masser af service i køkken. Lækre udendørsarealer og kroge man kan hygge sig i. Lækker pool som var ren og dejlig. Madrasser ok, men i nogle rum kunne de trænge til udskiftelse

Dejligt byhus med plads til alle

Vi havde en skøn uge i dette gamle hus - huset er på en gang midt i byen (med den larm en by laver) og samtidigt med stor privat have. Havens mange kroge og huset mange etager gav en god ramme for at være mange sammen og samtidigt have ro og rum. Det er et dejligt sted.

What a wonderful place!

This is our extended family's second visit here, and the place retains all its charms. The old, roomy house has lots of personality and is a perfect fit for us (three families with kids plus a set of grand parents): Big kitchen, dining room inside, plus equally large dining area outside, balcony for rose in the evenings, living room with couches and wifi, a number of bedrooms. The pool is big and deep enough for the adults to jump in and have fun with the kids. The house is located in the most picturesque village in a completely magical location: At once at the edge of town (from the garden you see only the untouched countryside towards the top of the hill) AND smack in the middle (the front of the house has views over the beautiful town square with its splashing fountain and its incredible restaurant, La Gloire de Mon Pere - with a decent baby alarm you can dine out while your kids are fast asleep inside the house). And Seillans has a number of other excellent restaurants and just walking around the winding steps and alleyways of the town to discover them - and a number of galleries - is a pleasure. The surrounding area offers pedal boats and water slides in the lake, numerous lovely villages with interesting markets and vineyards with local wine and olive oil. The landlord and his representative are both very quick to answer any questions and very accommodating. Thank you! I highly doubt we'll find anywhere to compete with this perfect gem, which is mostly booked solid - which makes me almost hesitate to leave this review. But the place certainly deserves it.

Great place to stay

This wonderful old house has a lot of atmosphere, charm and style. We also loved the garden, specially the swimmingpool area and dining places. The central position in Seillans was a great advantage and with great views. We fully enjoyed our stay here and would like to come back.

No less than a diamond for the Big famely which gave the best frame for holiday ever

We stayed one week in July in the most wonderful house in Serveillans. The House is situated in the very cosy and pittoresque city with only short walks to the few restaurants and cafes. The house and the garden is suiting a big family nicely with plenty of space and rooms for the 5 families (13 pax, 3 generations) including 3 small children. There is lot different spot where your can enjoy a quiet moment on your owe as well as several areas for gathering, best of all the big Argentina BBQ. The circum fenced pool was excellent and very safe. Equipment of house just as needed for a big family. All in all the house offered us the best frames ever for Holliday together with our big family - with NO surprises when it comes to house and facilities and NO complaints at all. We totally fell in love whith this place and we really want to be back one day.

Une authentique et vénérable bastide logée au cœur du village de Seillans, avec de nombreuses chambres et salles de bains, terrasse, patio… Commerces, restaurants, parking, galeries d’art : tout est à 5 minutes à pied (voire beaucoup moins). Excellent accueil. Piscine et jardins parfaitement entretenus. Propreté parfaite à la réception.

Loved the outdoor bbq and patio

We enjoyed our stay. The house is big with lots of bedrooms and three full baths. The best part was the outdoor bbq and covered patio. If you have any mobility issues, beware that there are steps everywhere on every level. The village was disappointing. It is beautiful but not much there. Owner and property manager were great.

70th birthday celebration with children and grandchildren

Fabulous week spent with family which was well worth the long wait !(booked in 2019 but delayed by covid ) . Thanks to Andy for allowing us to delay our visit. Lovely comfortable house with secluded garden and pool in beautiful village of Seillans with great views from all aspects. Un superbe séjour dans une belle bastide perchée

Notre séjour réunissait 4 générations, le lieu à répondu aux attentes de chacun: repos , détente , piscine , dîner autour du BBQ , grande sélection de films pour les accros d’écrans, découverte des villages environnants . Maison très conviviale , renseignements pour préparer le séjour et accueil parfaits Bon à savoir pour les personnes à mobilité réduite : beaucoup d’escaliers pour profiter des différents niveaux mais une chambre très agréable en rez de jardin Nous avons vraiment beaucoup apprécié cette semaine , thank you for welcoming us !

Another Week in Paradise

We visited this property 11 years ago for my 50th Birthday and had the best time, so coming back I was glad to see everything remained the same and the experience once more was everything we'd hoped for. Andy is an exceptional host , his communication and helpfulness is 1st class. let's hope it isn't another 11 years before we're back.

Lovely Villa!

So wonderful to be back at our second "home" in beautiful Seillans! The villa is ideally situated in the village, walking distance to restaurants, a 10 minute drive to wineries, and across from the pétanque courts. With 7 bedrooms, beautiful pool and very pleasant terraces we could hang out together or find a quiet area for some alone time. We have already booked our 2023 return and can't wait to get back! Wonderful property.

La maison du bonheur

La maison de la famille Wheaton est une magnifique maison pleine de charme dans l’un des plus beaux villages du Var. Beaucoup d’espace pour chacun tant de dedans que dehors. La maison est très bien équipée. N’hésitez pas à aller à l’office du tourisme, la dame y est de très bons conseils pour faire découvrir des lieux uniques sans touristes. Merci à Andrew pour sa si belle maison et nos échanges sympathiques ainsi que à Sarah qui nous a accueilli. Un merveilleux séjour à Seillans <3

A wonderful home

We stayed in this beautiful home with two families: a total of 4 adults, 4 adolescents/teenagers, 2 teenagers and 2 kids. It worked out perfectly. The house and garden are large enough for all of us to spend time alone, or with each other. To swim, to play table tennis, to read a book in the garden, to FaceTime with friends in one of the sitting rooms somewhere in the house, to stroll around in the lovely town or just sit on the upper terrace of the house and enjoy the view. The pool is a great plus and safely fenced off, the younger kids (7 years) could go and get bread at the bakery in town on their own(traffic is low and slow), it was just perfect. We found the house offered everything we needed: we were able to cook for 12 people, we used the barbecue several times, and there were some great restaurants at walking distance. We stayed during a very warm week, but the walls of the house are thick, there are shutters everywhere, and in each bedroom there was a fan, so even the bedrooms on the top floor were rather comfortable, we slept well. The outside terrace of the restaurant just next to the house can be a bit lively on a weekend evening - but that stops before midnight, and church bells may wake you up on Sunday morning. Nevertheless, we found that to be part of the wonderful experience of being in the center of such a lovely historic town. Day trips to Nice(<1hr), Gorges du Blavet (30 mins)and Lac de Saint Cassien (20 mins) made our vacation complete.

Beautiful spacious house in a charming village - perfect for a large family!

We spent a week's autumn holiday in this beautiful house with our family of three generations, and we loved everything about this place. The location in the village is just stunning, it has a great private garden with a pool that was still warm enough in October to take a refreshing dive here and there. The house itself is tastefully decorated, spacious enough for 10 to 12 persons, and equipped with everything that you could possibly wish for. We would like to thank Andrew and Lisa for the pleasant communication and helpful information, and Sarah Jane for her warm welcome at the house. And of course we would love to come back very soon!

Beautiful house in charming Sellains!

All in all, everyone was very pleased! The description of the house is accurate but the pool areas is much nicer (and very safe for small kids) than the pictures show. Highly recommend it!
