In the heart of the Florentine Chianti region, this beautifully converted stone barn sleeps up to 8 people and makes an idyllic holiday retreat for families with children and pets. Set on a hillside, surrounded by unspoiled countryside, with a private pool, this is a picture-perfect Tuscan retreat.
The villa is split over 2 floors. The entrance is on the upper level, through a striking veranda which leads into a stunning living room with large windows and great views across the hills. The room is furnished with 2 sofas, a flat-screen TV and a large open fireplace. A tiled staircase leads from the living room down to the spacious kitchen/dining area.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and Nespresso machine. There is also a large dining table for kitchen suppers. Double doors lead out onto a terrace with a lovely loggia where there is a second dining table for relaxed meals al fresco.
The villa’s private gardens are full of things to do and places to relax. Around the swimming pool, there are sun loungers where guests can enjoy the sunshine after a refreshing swim. There is also a table tennis table next to the pool. On the upper lawn, at the entrance level, there is another rustic picnic table with a BBQ. Children also have use of a special play area with a swing and slide.
Sleeping
Bedroom 1: On the lower floor, this spacious bedroom has a double bed, an antique wardrobe and an attractive arched glass door with access to the terrace by the pool.
Bedroom 2: This charming upstairs bedroom, is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe and small chest of drawers.
Bedroom 3: The second upstairs bedroom also has a double bed and wardrobe.
Extra: The sofa in the living room converts into a double bed.

There is a well-appointed bathroom on each floor. They both have a shower, basin and WC.

Location
The house is accessed via 200 m of partly downhill dirt road and although it is surrounded by nature, there are many amenities close by. Guests can walk to the charming medieval village of Lucardo, where there are two excellent restaurants, one with a magnificent view of the countryside and the other, a pizzeria, serving typical Tuscan dishes. Nearby are renowned estates that produce excellent wines and olive oil.
Some of Italy’s most beautiful cities and villages are within easy reach. Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, is just 45 minutes away and offers some of the finest galleries, museums and architecture in the world. As do the cities of Siena (50 minutes) and Pisa, with its Leaning Tower (1 hour). Other towns worth visiting are San Gimignano (35 minutes), famous for its many towers, and, for “Twilight” fans, Volterra (1 hour), a fascinating town with Etruscan roots.
There are wonderful hiking and cycling routes nearby which will immerse you in the woods and glorious Tuscan countryside.
The closest airports are Florence, 35 minutes drive, or Pisa, which is 1 hour away. Please note that the pool is open from the 1st of May 2024 to the 31st of October 2024
