Birthday getaway

We stayed in here as a group of 5 middle aged ladies , it was just perfect . The whole place was beautiful decorated with all the essentials from the kitchen to the bathrooms . Close to the town just a short walk . Shops close also to get food and essentials . It was lovely space to come back to at night and sit and chat . Highly recommend . Communication with them was also excellent .

A unique, special and convenient space.

The property has tons of character and space. It is also very functional with everything you need. The walk into Keswick is short and flat and there are 2 parking bays which is great when parking in town is so expensive now. They are reopening the restaurant underneath so that’ll be different next time. Pros and cons. Would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend. A space like no other and great to keep everyone together.

Great stay at Greta Howe

Really enjoyed our stay at Greta Howe. Property is in an excellent location and the private parking was a plus. Would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic cottage, great location

Greta Howe cottage, fantastic position on the outskirts of keswick town, short stroll for town, great location for walks, or exploring, comfortable lounge, diner and well-equipped kitchen, beds comfortable, bedrooms spacious, bathrooms excellent, highly recommended and will definitely be booking again.

Hi Elliott, Thank you for your review. Greta Howe is the perfect base for a break in the Lakes. It is only a short walk in to the town centre where you are spoiled for choice for places to eat and drink. There are lots of walks you can do right from the doorstep and the bus stop is only a 5 minute walk away if you want to travel further afield with the hassle of taking your car. Keswick Mountain Festival with the family

Loved the property. Was very well equipped and the beds were fresh, clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were nice and plenty of hot water for 6 peoples baths and showers. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely Property, great location!

Greta Howe is a lovely property in a perfect location. Just a small tip for future guests, I’d avoid putting the washing machine on before bed, as when it goes into the spin cycle the vibrations travel through the property and can wake you up. We’d definitely consider booking again. The staff at Keswick Cottages were superb as well, I phoned them twice before our visit and they were really helpful both times. Thankyou.

Loved it!!

Much bigger than it looked in photos, this was the best place we have stayed in Keswick! We stayed here while working at the Mountain Festival but can't wait to come back again with the family for a non working holiday. The accommodation had so much space, we loved staying here and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Keswick.

Lovely stay in Greta Howe

We had a great stay in this holiday home. The location was great - quiet, plenty of parking available and a short walk into town. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. The shower in the main bathroom was incredible! Would recommend without hesitation.

Excellent Accommodation

Accommodation newly decorated. Everything you could need and pristine condition. Parking easy access at front of property for the lager vehicle. Few minutes walk into town centre for shops, cafe, pubs etc. Highly recommend.

Comfortable property with open plan living

The property is ideally located for walks from the door but also trips to pub on an evening. All 3 bedrooms are spacious and two good bathrooms with showers. The open plan living space has lots of room for large families. Lots of space for parking.

Perfect getaway accommodation

This is our second stay in Greta Howe. We have stayed in Keswick many times and this has become our favourite accommodation. Everything about it is excellent. We love the quirky interior and the history of the place. The layout really works, it’s cosy and comfortable. Everything you need is provided. The location is ideal.

Really lovely place

The flat was really stunning - very different, and everything was excellent quality. Great location if you want to be in the centre but with views - quite a rare thing especially given the cost. There is a lot of history as it was 'Keswick School of Industrial Art" and if you google that you get an excellent photo of what the room looked like 100 years ago.

Greta Howe

Greta Howe was clean, well decorated and everything worked. It is just 5 minutes from the supermarkets, pubs and restaurants and the bus station which is very useful for us as we only travel around the Lake District by bus. The secondary glazing eliminates the road traffic noise. Views of Latrig and Skiddaw from the balcony. Highly recommended. .

Excellent Location

Better information needed regarding parking. Noisy plumbing. Showers seems to be limited one only at once. Good size family room and eating area. TV in all rooms.

Great Property

We had a lovely stay in this holiday property. It was very spacious, had great facilities, and having the town within a few minutes walking distance was perfect. It would have been helpful to have some instructions on how to use the gas fire, as that wasn't included on the tablet. Also, when we arrived, I think the heating had only just been turned on as it was quite chilly and took a while to heat up as the room is very large. I would definitely book again if we were in this area.

Wow! What a beautiful surprise!

We had an amazing stay at Greta Howe, the space is enormous but so cozy and unique, full of charm and all modernised. We loved the space! The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a luxury. Communication was easy for all our stay and we were welcomed by a bottle of fizz and biscuits. We had a couple of rainy days so we enjoyed the space and cooked in the bespoke kitchen. We had a great time and we would love to come back soon, thank you so much for having us on such a short notice!

Great base with luxury feel

I stayed midweek in November for three nights with a Friend. I chose the location in case the weather came in as it was near main roads. The communication was brilliant but we were left alone to enjoy our stay in peace. The place is very well done, and comfortable. Although there were only two of us, it would be big enough for 6 without being on top of each other. The gas fire was very welcomed after a day out on the fells. We were lucky that we have snow up on skiddaw which you can walk to from the door, and catbells too. Would definitely stay again, as it was so clean and homely. If I had to be picky the large bedroom was chilly compared to the rest of the place but I left the door open to the main area to get some heat in there, but that is only to be real picky, it’s still a 10/10
