Great home outside of San Francisco!

We stayed here for our family vacation to explore San Francisco for the first time. Great home with plenty of room downstairs that was in our budget compared to options in downtown SF. Home was very clean and the binder left by the property owners was invaluable!

Charming house in a convenient location

Had to be at Oakland airport at 4am so this house was just what we needed! And convenient to great restaurants -- Soba Ramen was delicious! The house is charming and comfortable. We had fun in the front and back yards looking for ripe fruit to pick from the trees.

It's a Mona Lisa...

...absolutely beautiful, charming even. My family of 1 adult and two children enjoyed the many light filled windows. The artistic decor and fully functional chef's kitchen. Unfortunately the basement bedroom was freezing and the host never responded to our inquiry on how to warm it. So it was unusable space, that we paid for.We are avid book readers but wanted to watch a movie together. The t.v.'s do not allow you to log into any streaming services. There weren't even free movies / t.v. available. The host didn't respond to my inquiry about this either. It was a lackluster experience despite the homes appearance.

Oakland stay

We had a very good stay for exploring the area. I only gave 3 stars for cleanliness as there was a mixup in our booking and we arrived before the cleaners could get there. Angie was quick to respond to us at all times and took care of the situation by refunding our cleaning fee.

Nice large home

I was focused on trying to pack my son’s apartment in the city and appreciated having a warm comfortable bed at the end of the day. I had to cut it short when my son was admitted to the hospital with an infection in Scottsdale where he is receiving cancer care. Thank you for you understanding.

Nice place, but bad WiFi

The house was very cute, but the WiFi was awful, which was terrible for my toddler (who is obsessed with Bluey).

Total Dump!

I have no idea how this house has so many good reviews? From the moment we drove into the neighborhood with all of the homeless encampments around, pulling up to the house and it’s like a jungle outside. There hasn’t been any landscaping done and God knows how long.. Furniture is older than I am. Windows are nailed closed Which is a safety hazard! We were not comfortable staying there so we left within 30 minutes of arriving I sent a message to the host never heard back until after checkout two days later. I found another House home in a safe neighborhood, but didn’t have the windows nailed closed spiderwebs everywhere Inside and outside of the home first thing you see when you walk up to the front door.

Overgrown walk way. Lighting in house hard to find. Table leg loose. Cushions on chairs a lot to be desired. Water leak under refrigerator. Handle on kitchen sink comes off. Lighting sucked.

Charming and Comfortable

We enjoyed our stay. The house is full of character and offered a comfortable space for a small family get together. The kitchen was well equipped and the view of the sunset was spectacular.

Nice, clean and comfortable

My family enjoyed staying at this home for one night. I was with my daughter and two grandkids who are 7 and 2. There were plenty of toys to keep the kids occupied and my daughter and I liked the cozy warm feeling of the home. In the morning I walked out to the street in front of the home and enjoyed the view of downtown Oakland. We would certainly consider staying here again.

Hello! My name is Angie and I enjoy gardening, photography, art, film, and hiking in nature. I also like antiques so I really love my 1929 home in Oakland. I work as a video producer and now live in Grass Valley, CA.

Derfor valgte værten dette overnatningssted

We raised our son there until 2 and a half years of age and loved living at the house during that time. It was so close to parks and Lake Merritt, central to everything Bay Area without the hustle and bustle of the city. We love the centrality but also how quiet it is, being far enough away from the freeways and hospital to not hear them. I love the old feel of the neighborhood and the historic landmark Edwardian home right next door. We enjoyed the view of downtown Oakland from the master bedroom and the redwood trees in the back two corners of the lot. There's actually a lot of fruit trees for a city yard too and plenty of succulents and flowers to enjoy some garden time.

Easy Uber ride to the Coliseum for concerts or sports or to BART train for a hassle-free trip to SF. Remodeled custom kitchen keeping the vintage vibe of the original architecture. Vaulted ceilings in the living room. Great oak floors. Excellent homey spot to visit the Bay Area with a family of small children of just friends.
