Beautiful Princeville Stay!

What a wonderful property and stay for our family. All the comforts of home, except AC, we we never missed with the constant and beautiful trade winds blowing. View was amazing, great to wake up to everyday. Short drive to everything.

Condo well stocked with kitchen and beach items

The condo is an end unit, wrapped around the corner from the main condos. It is very quiet and private, and the view of the bay to the lighthouse is unobstructed. The condo is tastefully decorated, and the furniture is comfortable, especially the bed. Breezes from the ocean cool the entire unit. We definitely want to stay here again.

Perfect location with great view

Condo was as advertised. Plenty of room for family of 4. Ocean views from every room. Wonderful secluded beach just a fun short walk down. Lots of shade. Shallow but good snorkeling. Wear reef shoes or sneakers.

We're so glad you enjoyed yourselves! The beach trail has had improvements made recently, and clear markings were added. It takes the guesswork out of it, and still seems like you're usually the only ones down there when you go. Reef shoes are a good idea, your feet will thank you :-) Hope to see you back again soon.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The best feature of this property is by far the view. Both bedrooms overlook the ocean providing a front row to nature's majesty. The challenge is the best view is upstairs, but the bed is too small to comfortably fit more than children or a petite couple. The downstairs bedroom still has a great view, and the bed is large enough but not super comfy. The overall space was good, clean and well-equipped.

A bad Hawai’i vacation is still a Hawaii vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was fine. The view is wonderful. We would have enjoyed newer towels. The TV remotes had weak batteries. The seating on the lanai could be reworked. The beach chairs were laughable. We got rained out of most of our vacation. 3/4 of our excursions were canceled. Lots of things were closed. If that hadn’t happened we might not have noticed the minor glitches above. We wouldn’t mind returning to that unit, when hopefully the weather isn’t crazy.

Kauai was fantastic; condo not so much

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Kauai is a beautiful island, offering so much to see and do. The native Hawaiians are warm and gracious. The Na Pali coastal cruise and Waimea Canyon were both breath taking. The condo, however, was a disappointment. The picture seen on the VRBO site is misleading. There is not glass table with chairs any place in or near the condo. The condo is not air conditioned. When we arrived, four fans were on, but as the windows were all closed, the heat was horrific. When we called about the fans not blowing air as they should, we were told we already had five fans. The pots and pans were in terrible condition: the nonstick surfaces were badly scratched. The toaster was broken. They were eventually replaced. The washer and dryer, quite nice, were hidden behind a curtain. The place was much smaller that it appeared to be on the VRBO site. The beds, however, were very comfortable. The view of the ocean from the beds was priceless. The grounds themselves were well maintained. Note: Princeville is at the far north of the island. Driving time is greatly increased when wanting to go south or to the west. The top speed limit is 50 mph with many areas being less.

We're glad to hear you enjoyed the fabulous view and comfy beds! The glass table with aluminum chairs pictured on the lanai have indeed been replaced. There are newer chars, a coffee table, and a lounge chair now. The lanai is now furnished in more contemporary fashion than pictured, which we don't view as a problem. The toaster was replaced the same day it was reported as being broken. Pots and pans required an hour drive each way to shop for, so had to wait until the following day. The washer and dryer are behind a curtain, yes. If you'd prefer to see them, it's easy to open the curtain. They're not closed in with a solid door because that traps heat and moisture that can lead to mold. It was quite hot on Kauai at this time, but the condo generally cools down within about 15 minutes once it's opened up. And it does need to be opened up when you arrive since it rains frequently and we don't want to risk water damage by leaving everything open when nobody is there. We did check the five fans in the condo and found them all working properly, but cleaned the filters (on the ones that have filters) to be sure. Tower fans don't move large volumes of air the way the larger clunkier fans do, but it's not that hot most of the time and we'd rather have something a bit lower profile for the 95% of the time it's plenty of cooling power. If you plan to drive to the southwest, like to visit Waimea Canyon, allow about two hours drive time. There's only one highway and traffic doesn't move goodness! It's part of the charm of our little island that life moves at a more relaxed pace, and so do the cars.

The staff at Kauai Kahuna was incredibly responsive to our needs and we so appreciated their desire to accommodate our needs. With all that said, no one informed us that the swimming pool would be closed for our entire stay, and with the extra rainy weather and having a 7 year old who loves pools, we would have definitely opted for other accommodations this trip had we been informed - it was a huge disappointment and although the company reimbursed us for a small amount of our reservation fee, it didn’t make up for the loss of access to a pool for two weeks. No one else’s in Princeville would allow us to pay for pool time and it cast a very sad shadow over our trip. Not sure if we’ll stay here again after that experience.

The beach is accessible only by a very long, steep, and often slippery trail...but it is worth the walk at least once...feels like you have your own private beach! Just make sure to double check that the pool is open if that is important to you!

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The view is beautiful, the community is fantastic, and location is great. Few miles from Annini beach (great for kids) and few miles from Hanalei bay and city with lots of food options. A short drive from Haena state park and beautiful Kee beach. The views around here are fabulous. Host is very responsive and the place is fantastic.

Beautiful views. Beautiful Beach hike.

We had an awesome time. Loved having coffee and looking at the waves each morning. 15 minute hike to Sealodge Beaxh was pretty and quiet. Some snorkeling. Nice to have beach chairs, towels and cooler to cooler for use.

The pictures were a bit deceiving- the outside picture with table looks like it is open- however you are on a very small patio with cover and there is no table to enjoy dinner outside . The pool picture looks nice online- pool is closed and is very run down. View is pretty but as in the title it was just an OK place to stay.

We're very sorry to hear that this lovely updated oceanfront property didn't meet your expectations. The pool was closed temporarily due to a plumbing issue that has since been repaired so it's open again. Since the dining table blew over the cliff in a storm, we opted to replace with a couple of low chaise lounges and a small end table that are less prone to being taken away by the wind! It's a perfect, shady, oceanfront spot for enjoying your morning coffee or evening glass of wine :-)

Great Family Stay

My family and I are forever grateful for our month long stay. We arrived to a clean, organized, and perfect 2bd, 2 bath condo end unit, for my family to enjoy for the month of December. Communications with our management contacts was great - and we received prompt replies to each of our questions or concerns. Checking in was simple, just needed the pad lock combo, which was emailed to us prior to arriving. Even though many of the units were not occupied due to covid travel restrictions, we lucked out with amazing neighbors, with whom we enjoyed sharing time with each other. Big shout out to the maintenance crew (Simon!), even though we did not experience any issues within our unit, he went out of his way to ensure we felt at home and was consistently asking us if all is well. The unit has amazing views, we lucked out with whale watching facing north/east in December. Plenty of dishes, cups, coffee mugs etc. same for towels, sheets, blankets etc. Dishwasher is on the smaller side, but that was not an issue. Washer/Dryer is life saver for a family. Beach toys and snorkeling gear were supplied. All in all, our family does recommend this unit and would consider coming back in the future. The quiet location, views, proximity to Princeville shopping market, and nearby Hanalei - make Sealodge a great choice for your Kauai vacation.

Scenic, Relaxing Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent condo! Exactly as advertised! Perfect location, easy walk to Princeville shopping and several beaches! Especially enjoyed the sunrise/sunset view from our lanai, including the whales! Easy checkin and out! The management did a great job of setting us up for a memorable vacation!
