Perfect location for extraordinarily beautiful home, garden, and beachfront! Very comfortable for our five adults, with space for eight. Gorgeous views at every window, including serene sunrises over the ocean (see photos). Back lanai, where we ate many meals enjoying the magnificent ocean, has partial overhead protection from sun and rain, and front covered lanai also has private yard with lovely plumeria and kamani trees. Mini-split air conditioning wasn't essential due to wonderful ocean breezes but worked well and was adjustable (any setting from off to 60s); kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked; property manager was always very helpful and responsive. Appreciated abundant supply of beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, and cooler. Hawaii has many indoor insects and geckos, but this house was very clean and had minimal bugs. Adjacent public beach access path is used infrequently, and yard landscaping is so private that we rarely even noticed other people. Kailua was an ideal home base, with easy access to all parts of the island and convenient large grocery stores. Many delicious restaurants nearby, and Kailua farmers markets were fun introductions to local foods, fruits/vegetables, crafts, and culture. Beds may be too firm for some guests, but a layer of memory foam from Target or Walmart could be added if needed. Kitchen and refrigerator are compact yet functional, and we used the stove, oven, and microwave for cooking. We were absolutely delighted by our stay!
