Respect for Health

We appreciate the communication. Ver far and we shared a health issue of our 100 year old guest of honor, asking to cancel, well in advance. While the host”does” have a no cancellation policy, when doing business there should be ethics that override monetary gain. We all want to feel safe not just physically but safe in ethical ways too. We travel a lot we have never encountered a host that refused to be little willing to be collaborative in our request, at all. The only support or option was on a future stay. A second experience is usually very unlikely if the initial experience shows no willingness to even give back a small refund. We are sure there will be a long and intense response but how we treat people in the end is what matters most. It is rare to celebrate someone’s 100th birthday. A great host should make some adjustment. It matters a lot to us to work with hosts who can be understanding. When booking this site be careful, I would say who you do business with shows if their is no flexibility (that is agreeable) just a frigid policy, people are human, they get sick. We all expect a little compassion. Caring is caring. Not caring, is evident here.

Reunion turned into a surprised proposal!

Couple days Before we checked in at the Rezort, the owner Vernon had contacted us about any special request that he can accommodate which is did! Check in was super smooth, the house was exactly like the photos but better in person. The only thing we had trouble with was the WiFi password but that was immediately fixed by giving Vernon a quick call. Everything in the kitchen was available to cook great meals for the weekend. The back yard was our favorite! Our reunion turned into a surprise engagement proposal! The pool lighting at night and fireplace outside just made it very romantic for the proposal. Was a success! Too bad we didn’t get to use The heated pool Bc it was raining and pretty chilly . it was very beautiful how it was set up. Very relaxing and peaceful just laying on the hammock. We also enjoyed watching the game in the theatre room! We also got to use the pool table in the basement which was very nice! Didn’t get to use the gym room as everyone was busy having fun! The neighborhood was very nice, safe and clean. we also gave out candies to the little trick or treaters on Halloween night. Overall we love staying here and we are already planning to come back in the summer to enjoy the backyard and pool!!!

RENTER BEWARE

We rented this property for a family reunion. There are far better places to stay for a lot cheaper. First thing, this is the owners primary residence and not a vacation rental. The owner is difficult to get a hold of while there. Numerous attempts were made with no return calls or text messages. The owner remotely turned the jacuzzi heater on and forgot to turn it off which made the pool 102 degrees the following day. The day after that it was down to 97 degrees. So we were unable to use the pool for a day and a half. While removing the sheets on one of the beds, there was a 12" butcher knife sticking out of the side of the mattress. Owner said that is their daughters room and will find out why she had it there. FYI, this room was occupied by my 14 year old non verbal nephew and his mother. I can only imagine if he had found it. The master bathroom drawer had the owners belongings in it including prescription medication. Again, i can only imagine if it got into the wrong hands. The bath tub on the main floor completely backed up. Owner said they didn’t know there was a problem because that bathroom typically doesn’t get used. I brought these issues up with the owner and he had excuses for everything. When i asked for a partial refund, he said he could offer $375. I myself have a vacation rental with over 50 guests and everyone leaving a 5 star rating. The owner of this property doesn't seem to care about his guests and ratings. There are better places to stay with less dog hair and are safe for families.

Beautiful property

The location and amenities, accommodated the family well. Wish the weather was warmer to take advantage of the pool, but the kids enjoyed making marshmallow over the fire pit, playing video games and the pool table. Will definitely return!
