Lovely cottage in Long Beach

Located on a quiet street, this lovely arts and crafts cottage is within easy walking distance of coffee shops and restaurants. Check-in and check-out was easy. Would stay here again.

great location

I was in Long Beach to spend Christmas with family. The house was perfect to host an array of relatives stopping by to visit. Excellent restaurants near by.

Lovely Long Beach Visit

My daughter and I stayed in this Craftsman cottage while visiting younger daughter in Rose Park neighborhood. Easy walk to shops and restaurants on 4th Street and to Bixby Park. Great location!

Charming Craftsman Home in Lovely Neighborhood

Loved everything about this home. So many original Craftsman details inside and out. Walkable to many restaurants and parks. Enjoyed coffee on the front porch or back yard sitting area. You'll enjoy your stay :)

Awesome but parking is tough

Awesome location and space! But you have to be home by 6pm or you won't find a space. Just takes some searching...maybe a block or two away.

Hi thanks for the five star rating! Yes we agree it can be a challenge to find parking right out front. But often you can. Also within about a block walk you can find parking and it’s a very cute neighborhood.

Yes parking is difficult in long beach this close to the ocean, but you can usually find parking a block or 2 away at the most. then the neighborhood is nice to walk. We used to live there for 5 years so we used uber to get around locally usually its under $5-10 for a local trip and don't have to deal with the parking. Thanks for staying

Super cute house and neighborhood

We loved staying here! Lots of character. We enjoyed reading in the front or back porch, putting together one of the puzzles, and cooking meals there. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked enough to make all our meals with grocery stores and fish markets very nearby to buy awesome ingredients. The beach was the perfect distance for an after-dinner walk. The air conditioner was on when we arrived and the host messaged me throughout our stay to see if we needed anything. Would stay her again!

Grammies trip

We had a great stay. Having to move the car for street sweeping is a pain, but it is due to limited parking on the street. The house is older, so one should not expect all the modern conveniences. It was clean and I would rent again.

Good stay-need quicker communication with

We enjoyed our stay in this sweet, Craftsman house for the most part. We walked to the coffee shop everyday and enjoyed the location. We had difficulty reaching the property management folks for a day when the door lock wasn’t working properly, so I hope they add another contact option to prevent that in the future.

Everything was great… nice neighborhood close to the beach,and a lot of good food all around… if possible in the future you might think about putting a small driveway for 1 vehicle where you have the outdoor table..That would be fantastic. Parking is very difficult to find in these area and for these with a car is an inconvenience to park three or four blocks away…. Thank you 🙏

Fun get away!

We had a great trip. Easy flight to John Wayne Airport. Quick 30 minute Uber to the house. And a short walk to the bicycle rentals. Love Long Beach Bike rental program totally user friendly. We went everywhere on the bikes. No car was necessary. The coffee pot is my main complaint. Spend 50 bucks and get a real coffee pot. A 4 cup pot does not do it. But we had a great time and would stay again!

Cute house but kitchen needs work

The house is as listed, nice older Craftsman. Parking was difficult on several occasions, but that was expected. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe. The kitchen was not as well equipped as some reviewers had said, and we had to wash all the plates and silverware because they were coated in dust. I realize not everyone comes with the idea of cooking, but we had rented this house with the idea of having Thanksgiving here with our son who lives in Long Beach, and had to buy some disposable pans for cooking. The towels in the bathroom were also in bad repair; we ended up buying washcloths as there was only one in the house. These are small things, but need attention. The living spaces were fine, plenty of space for the two of us, and the front bed was very comfortable. Just needs a few things to be a great place to stay.

We have since replaced all the towels, and cookware. We would have gladly replaced anything while you were there, had you let us know. Interesting but not in a good way.

Unfortunately this property was not for us. It was in the hood and by the hood I mean: gun shots, homeless people sleeping on your street, drunks, needles in the streets. We did not feel safe in this property at all, let alone walking to the shops or thinking if our car would still be there when we got back. The property was severely outdated and not clean. The fans, mirrors etc covered in dust. Bedding was clean however. Unfortunately for us, we arrived to a heatwave and some of the hottest days long beach has ever seen. A tiny aircon unit that had been fashioned together was absolutely not sufficient for the front room, let alone the bedrooms or kitchen. The kitchen was so hot the fridge was 20c above the required temperature and the freezer didn’t even keep ice frozen so we could store no food at the property for the duration of our stay. This property is no where near the beach and parking is an absolute nightmare. You could get no where near your house at almost anytime of the day. A drive way or parking space for this property is needed for ongoing rentals. You need to wheel your suitcases through the hood 2-3 blocks to get where you need too. With a child this location is not safe. We stayed out at the parks purposely so we didn’t have to return. The property, amenities, fridge, aircon and cleanliness were all subpar. Usually a Stayz house or apartment would add to our experience but not this one. Sorry honest review.

Hi, hello thanks for your stay this is actually a historic area of Long Beach. It’s an eight minute drive to the beach. Google search Rose Park in Long Beach. It’s a great neighborhood. The houses are close together, but that’s how Long Beach is and it is a city close to the beach. Also, I know when you got there, you said you were from a rural area this is not like rural Montana. This is Long Beach 12 blocks to the ocean so it’s a lot denser like many beach cities. The area is very safe. Also since your stay, we did add another AC unit and we added a refrigerator New that does not have the cooling issue. Thank you for your comments as we did add these things. Also on Fourth of July, there is definitely a major parking problem and it is usually hard after 6 PM so we mentioned that. The best way is you can usually find something one block away. Why are Property is a lot lower price than others is that since we don’t have private parking we only have the street parking. Usually, you can find a parking spot. But as mentioned this is near the ocean and it’s a city not rural area majority of the people love it. Also, you don’t have to bring luggage far off. You can just double park and then drop off your luggage. I wish you had contacted me and I would’ve given you some more advice anyways I hope you have a good day. Thank you for your feedback Back.

Host should share the local info based on the address. Parking on both sides of the street has weekly street sweepers. There is a fine if you are parked when they come by. I flew in the night before and had no clue. Kitchen appliances, dishes, cookware were all very cheap. Pans are flaking, spatulas melt while cooking. No dish towels. 1 roll of toilet paper? Have enough hand soap for the bathroom AND kitchen.The photos of bedrooms did not match the actual rooms. These seem like very simple fixes

Hi Janelle I’m sorry we couldn’t refund you or let you stay the extra nights that you requested. I understand that this could have upset you as well. We’re glad overall the stay was good though Also also, we do have extra toilet paper as well as dish towers, extra spatulas in anything that you need you would just have to contact me and I could’ve told you where they were usually they’re in the extra kitchen cabinets and there’s also the paper towels and toilet paper in the cabinets. We are replacing the manual as I see that our house manual was missing for your stay. Sorry we couldn’t allow extra days there that you wanted to extend but we had other guests coming. Thanks for your comments and we will put a new house manual

Very nice home

We enjoyed our stay. The owners were very attentive and replied to our request extremely fast. Home was clean and welcoming. Only issue was finding street parking, but that was out of the owner’s control.

Cozy cottage

The space was cute and pretty. It's old which is charming. The kitchen was equipped for cooking and there is a lovely park one block over which was nice. The only issue is the parking. There is absolutely no parking on the street, had to park a few blocks away which was inconvenient. And didnt notice the street sweeping signs so my friend and I both got tickets, but we would've had to have gotten up at 5am and wait for street sweeping to come which is not how one should be spending their vacation

Rose park neighborhood stay

Enjoyed the easeful neighborhood and peaceful home with outdoor spaces front and back to relax. Passionfruit tree and pingpong table in back a pleasant surprise. Parking does take a bit of effort... easier on e 7th a commercial street. Would stay again!

Appropriate space for 3 adults. Conveniently located in quiet neighborhood. Parking would have been a challenge had we rented a car. May consider replacing washer and dryer. Unpretentious, comfortable property. Would definitely stay again!
