What does “central “ mean in Paris. For some tourists it is the 6th arrondissement with Boulevard Saint Germain. For most of us, there are many central areas in Paris. It can be the Opera, La Madeleine with department stores like Galleries Lafayette. It can be the 1st arrondissement with the Louvre Museum, the Halles. In my case it is the Arc deTriomphe, the Hyatt Regency Paris, Palais des Congres with its 400 stores, movie houses (metro Maillot/Neuilly), the Avenue Charles de Gaulle to the Seine river at Pont de Neuilly with its 100 restaurants, the great variety of food stores, art galleries, State of the Art aquatic center, the Paris Gehry’s Louis Vuitton Museum and cultural Center (10 minutes walk to the apartment), The Bois de Bologne (3 times like Central park with its boating, pony ride, exhibits at the Jardin d'Acclimatation (5 minutes walk to the apartment), the Bagatelle flower exhibits and the Windsor Mansion. Notwithstanding the fact that the whole area with Neuilly has always been reknown through France for being the home of billionaires, celebrities, academicians, writters and politicians. And with the subway line one, in 10 minutes you are in the louvre museum. Cross the bridge on the Seine and you are in Paris main business district of La Defense. As far as housekeeping is concerned we offer free cleaning and change of sheets and bath towels within one week for guests staying 12 nights or more. Guests have the use of our new Miele washing machine and our dryer, or we are happy to provide housekeeping upon request as indicated on our VRBO site. Last but not least, guests that have nothing to say should not write reviews. Those guests were not curious enough to learn more about this interesting area of Paris to leave some useful tips.

Christen has been a delightful person to deal with. This adorable family are the perfect guests one always dreams to have. The children are very bright, curious , eager to learn and had even planned what they wanted to see in Paris. They did not miss a thing during their very enjoyable Paris visit. I could not be more happy about it. My door is wide open for everyone of them to come back.

Annie and her family were for the first time in Paris and were very pleasant guests. The sofa bed has wood slates and a latex mattress. It is firm. We usually use it for adolescent and children .and when needed for one adult. It is only 48 inches wide. In this case the2 daughters did not want to share a queen bed. The 29 year old daughter may have found the convertible sofa too firm. Annie , may not be familiar with the architecture in Paris. When we use the word old building it does not represent our building , which is a classic 8 floor limestone bourgeois building with balconies , totally renovated with a new elevator, large entry hall and floors. The same with the apartement. Very tall ceilings, large windows, plenty of sun. A mix of authentic 1925 Art Deco furniture, French provincial furnitures and modern beds, headboard, lighting (small and tall lamps and accessories. Many of them were renewed 2 months ago, including some kitchen equipment.

Many tourists think that Notre Dame is the City of Paris only center. But we have the Marais, Montmartre, Les Champs Elysees ,le Palais des Congres etc. This Guest did not recognize that the taxi driver was making her pay a higher bill. The vrbo listing is accurate and gives a lot of details on the location, and all the interesting things to do. This guest had never been to France and for some reason imagine that there was an Olympic swimming pool in the building and was chocked that she would have to walk 10 minutes to get there or take a bus for one stop. For some reason she decided to write that this State of the Art Aquatic Center was at three subway stations from the apartment. There is no subway near that Center. Finally she pointed that our bath towels needed rewashing. Those towels are new and the cleaning team is dedicated to have the apartment and towels impeccable. Last but not least, the walk to my apartment to the Arche of Triomphe/Champs Elysees is the same than to walk from Lexington Avenue and 72 nd Street to Bloomingdales in New York. Why so many inaccuracies? Very boring for me.

This guest booked for 3 people, but was planning for 5. We discovered the fact and had him pay for an additional person. He was furious. His report of the apartment is Inaccurate . Prior to his arrival we had 2 days of deep cleaning and the addition of new furniture. The toilet is in a separe room, like in most Paris apartment. Also you give 2 stars for a dump, not an apartment like ours.

Thank you so much for your review. It was a pleasure having you in the apartment and I am happy that you had an enjoyable time in Paris. When we (the building apartment owners) decided on the renovation and cleaning of the building's facade facing the courtyard, we were not told by the contractor that we may have to endure some chemical smells. We were not even sure when the work will take place.. If I had known, I would have alerted you. I apologize for it and thank you for your understanding. I must report that today October 27, 2015, the renovation has been completed and everything is back to normal. Please let me know if you come back to Paris , as I would really like to plan something special. The owner

I HAVE BEEN RENTING FOR MANY YEARS AND KEPT THINKING HOW FORTUNATE I WAS TO HAVE ENCOUNTERED SO MANY CHARMING, CONSIDERATE, WELL- MANERED, INTERESTING GUESTS. FINALLY I GOT A PERSON WITH A VERY DIFFERENT PERSONA. She came to Paris to write on Gustave Flaubert, a brilliant and moral man, who wrote:” there is no truth, there is only perception” How will Madame Bovary be perceived in the hand of a person whose action, as described below, is very revealing. Her reservation with VRBO was for one person. Unknown to me and to my housekeeper assistant who opened the apartment door that day, she arrived with 3 additional adults. A total of 4 persons. With no explanation, she burst in. She hardly greeted the housekeeper and proceeded in a very agitated manner to go to every room and open the closet doors and drawers, as if she was looking for something. May be she was, because when my main housekeeper came back to the apartment four days later to see if things were alright, she and her entourage were out, but the apartment was in a total mess, all dishes, silverware closets were empty. It was evident that there had been a party (maybe more) on the premises. Parties in my apartment are absolutely forbidden. As far as her description of the location, it was as uninformed, as the antagonistic description of the building and the décor. It is s a well-designed building- classic architectural limestone building. On the façade, You can hardly see the year the building was built. But this person had the urge to come to the street with pen, paper and magnifying glass to discover the year and make a judgement that the building was not Haussmannian. Truly, who cares, but this is weird. The elevator is a very normal size, as in most of the Paris buildings built in the 19 and 20 Centuries. We can fit a small wheelchair in the elevator. The apartment is a marriage of modern and some authentic art deco furniture (one piece by Leleu), some other pieces are French provincial armoires. The kitchen was painted and refreshed 3 months ago with many new pots and pans. The word Luxury does not only mean Versailles, it means a classic architecture building classified as categorie A, A+ and Hors Categorie. Also pricewise most apartments here start at 1,400000 euros. The choice of word in using “luxury” as well as “pleasant” reveals unsettled animosity rather than objective real estate appreciation. As far as the location, it would have done her good to walk 10 minutes to the Palais

One week after returning to the States, this guest threatened us to write a bad review, if we would not refund her rental money. We were chocked. One week before this guest left for Paris, I emailed her arrival instructions and a list of suggestions. I called her the same day to make sure she received my information. I kept calling, emailing, sending sms, notes from my vrbo dashboard, NO RESPONSE. The Saturday of her arrival at the airport CDG I called her. She had just landed and assured me she got the material I sent her. She was supposed to be at the apartment at 10AM and meet the housekeeper. At 1PM, she was still not there. I called her from NYC and she told me that she will not be there before7PM as she had to wait for her lugggages. My housekeeper had to spend the all day to wait for her. When the guest arrived she was very rude with my housekeeper and not even thanked her . We did not hear from her. When she left on Saturday, the apartment was in a terrible shape and the toilet was broken beyond repair. We had new guests arriving on Sunday, and Alexandra spent the day trying to find a plumber to replace the toilet. The rest of the review is a pack of lies. The building was renovated 2 years ago and we have a new elevator. My apartment has very high ceilings, large rooms full of light, the windows are wide and tall, from ceiling to one foot over the floor. Three months ago, we redecorated and added furniture and equipment . My team does every effort to have the premices hospital clean. As far as the apartment location, it fully described in the VRBO listing. She mentioned an other gest whom the taxi driver told this location is not central Paris and probably was trying to charge her more money. Central Paris for most tourists is Notre Dame and Boulevard Saint Germain. In any case what did this comment have anything to do with her situation. We have many centers in Paris. We have 100 restaurants around the apartment, not even counting the Champs Elysees. If she was so concerned, she would have been happy to speak with me, specially after the 10 messages I left her and phone calls. In fact, I probably would have been very happy to refund her money, if she did not like the location or if I did not feel that I wanted this type of person in my apartment. Who I am renting to, is more important for me, that the rental money. This is an expensive apartment,I like this apartment and I want guests to enjoy their stay. I had call vrbo to tell them that I could not reach the guest. Later, I also called vrbo many times to report the situation. Vrbo is making a lot of money from the owners and we expect some support, specially if we are being blackmailed. The staff I spoke with did nothing and I was unable to reach the management in Austin, Texas. I have rented with vrbo since 20 years and I have had evry nice guets. This is an other experience.
