Great House!

We loved staying at Shades of Summer for our fall break trip with our friends. The location was fantastic and it came with everything you could need for a beach trip. We would definitely stay here again!

our stay

Not beach front but the beach was easily accessible. Kitchen was well equipped, but the oven did not work when we arrived (we had been alerted to the problem prior to arrival by 360 Blue). Someone came to repair on Day 3 of our week. Fuses tripped multiple times in downstairs areas and would not reset, but again maintenance came next day. These were inconveniences, but not trip spoilers. 360 Blue was excellent in responding and communicating. The biggest complaint was the condition of the outside gas grill. It appeared to be relatively new, however, it had not been cleaned for some time. Underneath were 2 pans full of putrid grease and we had a terrible time trying to clean and dispose of the grease with limited cleaning resources. We needed the grill to prepare dinner that night due to oven being out of service, otherwise I would have called and asked them to come clean it. Shower curtain liners need a good wash. Pool was lovely and clean. Overall, I can only rate 4 stars, not 5. Thanks

Thanksgiving weekend

Amazing location. Very responsive staff. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well appointed for a big dinners and lots of cooking including thanksgiving dinner which we had at the property with large family gathering. Could have used beach towels and chairs, more higher end cleaning products for hygiene, laundry, dishwasher, etc.

The house delivers!!!

The house and all of its features was wonderful. Just as advertised. And the Santa Rosa Beach destination was charming and fun. Two minor items of constructive criticism... I think, for the price, they could provide coffee filters and enough trash can liners so guests didn't need to buy or bring their own. And... I felt like our host was a corporation. (Well, it was.) I never felt like I was connected to a person who had a personal interest in my happiness. But my family had a GREAT time!

Shade of Summer is a delight!

This home is spectacular. It exceeding our expectations. The location was perfect. The home comes equipped with duel refrigerators, dishwashers, and washer/dryers! We wanted for nothing and can’t wait to return.

Great location

The house has an amazing location and a ton of space. We loved how each bedroom has its own bathroom. The house seemed to be missing the bare necessities that beach properties normally have (paper towel, extra toilet paper, salt, pepper, olive oil, etc...). So be sure to bring those necessities or plan to purchase everything.

Family Vacation 22

Everyone enjoyed the property, the closeness of beach, the pool and the small neighborhood feeling.and the golf cart was a nice extra. I would suggest you add a system ( sheets of clear plexiglass under the the 2nd and third levels) to allow the water to run off the side of house versus down on top of everyone. We had a few storms and couldn’t be on the decks or swings and had to remain inside plus beach towels got soaked and we had to constantly dry the furniture. Overall very satisfied. We will return to the are for sure but probably need a bigger house. Thank you.

The perfect place for a big family reunion!

Had a family reunion with 15 adults. We loved the huge kitchen and big bedrooms each with their own bathroom! Having a private swimming pool certainly provided extra entertainment especially when we had room for our cornhole boards. The walk to the beach was easy even for the oldest in our group which were 82 and 81! Being able to walk to shops and restaurants and the younger adults having a place to gather worked out perfectly! Loved the amenities like the golf cart, bicycles, and little goodies left for us to enjoy. Thanks for a great time and we look forward to returning next year!

Large family rental

The house was spacious & for most part, it was clean. Rug in the living room was covered with stains, giving the feeling of dirty living. We enjoyed sharing all our meals in one location—not something a family of 16 gets very often at a beach rental. However, the few cereal bowls available were all chipped around the edges. All 16 of us could have a glass at the same time if some used pilsners and martini glasses. There were an assortment (8) of regular glasses in different sizes and colors, but not a coordinated selection. Two huge refrigerators were a godsend. Thermadore dishwashers (2) so quiet, you had to lean done next to them to know they were running. Linens supplied were pristine, towels thick & fluffy. Pool was wonderful. Overall it was a very nice rental, but at the price we paid, we expected more attention to detail.

Great location and setup for multiple families!

This house was perfect for our large group. The bunk room with its own sitting area was so nice for the kids. All beds were comfortable, and the location can’t be beat! The house could use a good deep cleaning, and some of the rugs were stained, but we would definitely stay here again!

Perfect house for a group of friends...

We were four couples on our annual trek to Grayton Beach and this place could not have fit us better, with room to spare - we could have fit another couple abs 8 kids! Just steps from the Red Bar and the beach. We’ll be back.

Absolutely wonderful

House is perfect to share with 2-3 families. Updated kitchen and perfect location. 360 Blue was wonderful to work with as we left a day early due to beach closure for Covid-19 and they immediately reimbursed us. FYI, there is not a kureg in the kitchen. (if that's my only complaint we are doing pretty good!!!!)

There was plenty of space to retreat from the group if needed. We fully utilized the kitchen, which was very functional for a large group. The other plus was a large enough dining table for a large group, which can be hard to find.

It was very well equipped and even had extra unexpected useful items like kitchen spices, extra toilet paper, dishwasher pods, etc. We enjoyed the large side porch coming in for dumping all beach items. The pool was a great size. The kitchen and dining area was absolutely the best with the long tables. Plenty of room to have your meals on one end and work a puzzle on the other. The ice maker was handy. Having 2 washing machines and dryers together on the bottom floor was also a plus. The bunkroom was amazing and some of our kids who usually end up in Mom and DAd's room actually slept in their cozy bunks. It was probably the first time ever that we didn't have to ask for anything to be fixed upon arrival. There were a couple of minor to-do's in the house but very insignificant. Under the sofas needed vacuuming (as we were always chasing a pacifier under there). The curtain rod in the bunk room had a broken end but it remained up. One of the washing machines had some inside levers missing. We were not impressed with the "free beach gear" as it was diluted - it cost as much to rent a kayak (~$280) as you could buy one for. Or if you wanted to use it for beach chair/umbrella rentals, it only gave you $40 off the week so it still cost $210. Not a big deal - just not a true credit of the actual advertised value.

We have rented it for 10 years and my grandchildren have grown up staying here. The owner has taken it off the rental market and put it up for sale. Good luck to her. Lots of improvements over the years have been made, making it much more livable. It is needing for TLC, but we would have been here next year if it was available. Thankfully, Grayton Coast Rentals found us another!
