House was dirty

This house was not clean at all and definitely was difficult to stay in. It was our entire family and we were all very very disappointed considering the amount of money we paid to stay for the week. We have never had this problem with any other house we've rented in The Destin area. The elevator was not working when we arrived. Two of the beds were broken when we arrived and two guys came and set them on the floor for the night until they could be repaired. The duvet covers were not clean. It appeared like there was snot & blood on two of them. Two of the bunk beds had NO blankets so the kids doubled up on the bottom bunks. Also the house had months of dust accumulated on the night stands and light fixtures in the bathrooms. The slip covers on the furniture in the living room were stained and dirty. We made several calls and a couple of things were resolved but they couldn't do anything about dirt, dust & overall cleanliness. Didn't offer to send cleaning crew in. Overall I would give this house a 0 out of 10. We have tried to come to an agreement with Royal Destinations & the owners and they offered a small stipend which was not acceptable to us. Very disappointed for our only Family Vacation for the summer. Also only one exit door in the entire house which is on the bottom floor.

Some locals and visitors will try and use the parking and are not scared of the towing signs. Luckily we didn't have 6 cars there all the time and could work around it.

Wonderful family vacation

The location of the house is perfect and the house is actually more breath taking than the photos show (if thats possible). We had a couple of issues but as soon as I reported them Royal Destinations came immediately to fix the problems. Overall this house was perfect for our family’s pre-Christmas celebration. Plenty of room to spread out and the king size beds were definitely a bonus for everyone. We had a wonderful stay.

Royal Destinations was very responsive and helpful when we needed them. The location is so convenient. The only small negative would be that it is right next to where the vehicles drive onto the beach but that really wasn't a problem. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to others!

3 families end of summer vacation

Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at Grayton Dream. 8 kids and 6 adults fit comfortably in this space with a large kitchen and two laundry rooms serving us all well. The home is beautifully designed with a modern but comfortable beach vibe. The bedding, pillows and mattresses were very comfortable (and I am pretty picky when it comes to these items).The location was perfect with views of the lakes and the gulf, a short walk to Red Bar. The house came with bikes but two of them need a bit of repair so you may want to bring your own or reserve some. Having owned a beach house about this size, I know the maintenance is unbelievable and the salt air destroys everything quickly. The grill downstairs was in good shape and you can tell the management company is responsive. Something to be aware of: most homes have a check in time of 4:00 but this one is 5:00. I assume it is because of the size of the home and how long it takes to clean. With Red Bar being a few feet away, who cares? But just keep it in mind when planning your arrival. Also, there are no beach towels with this home so pack your own. The home towels are very nice quality, white and in very good condition. They do not belong on beach chairs covered in sunscreen, in my opinion. Plus it makes for a ton of laundry because you will run out of bath towels. While the kitchen is well appointed, you may want to bring your own knives if you cook a lot, or at least a sharpener. Also, mind the garbage days and get the trash out early. We missed it and with three families and a lot of cooking, we ran into problems by the end of the trip.

Incredible view location great for restaurants with no driving

Very good property management and responsiveness when needed. Some water damage on floor on main floor by back door but minimal repair needed.

The furnishings were very nice, and the layout of the house was spacious and comfortable with gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico and the adjoining dune lake. The only downside was the plumbing. The main level toilet was not working when we arrived, and one of the downstairs toilets became unusable during our stay. The property management was quick to address our plumbing issues, however, and a maintenance man arrived within one hour of our calls.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time, probably our best vacation to date. The property management was quick to respond to maintenance issues. The only issues we had were the ice maker never worked (they tried to come and fix multiple times so not for lack of trying) and we did have ants and a couple cockroaches, though I think that's somewhat expected in the south. I'd recommend asking them to spray before your stay because once people are in the house they can't come in with chemicals, which makes sense. It was an overall great experience with a breathtaking view. The proximity to the lake as well as the ocean makes it really great for younger kids as well.

Best house in Grayton

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fantastic house!!! Lots of room and the views are simply spectacular. It's 4 floors up so you can see to Panama City on one side and Destin on the other. Lots of room to sleep and the house is in great shape and consistent with the online pictures. The rental company is fabulous and was attentive when needed. Very pleasant to deal with compared to some others. I really have only two complaints: first they were renovating the house next door and it was loud and sort of annoying when sitting on the deck. But it looked close to complete so I wouldn't imagine it will be an issue for more than a few more weeks. Second was the distance to the beach. While the house is technically on the beach it is still a bit of a hike to the water. Not a big deal unless you have tons of beach stuff. Grayton does allow cars on the beach with a permit and it can get crowded on the weekends so the experience is definitely different from Alys or Rosemary. Didn't bother us though. In addition to the ocean, the house is also next to the big lake in the park that sort of connects to the ocean. It was nice to have. It gave the kids another whole area to play, explore, skim board (it perfect for that!!) and swim. I didn't realize what a huge bonus that would be. The location of the house is right in Grayton and next to everything there: Red Bar etc. Instead of having to wait for a table, just grab a pager and go back to the house and have a drink. You are so close the pagers all work and you can make to 90 second walk back when your table is ready. Very cool. Overall, a top notch rental company and house. If you like Grayton and have a big group, this is the house for you.
