House was wonderful, but it is not ski in or ski out!
thank you for the review.
our listing describes our ski access in this way......
"In winter you can ski out to the Double Cabin ski trail which is also just an easy 120 yard walk away."
the information we provide to guests elaborates in this way....
"WINTER SKI ACCESS
to get to the ski slopes in winter you can ski behind the house next door going east .
Depending on the amount of fresh snow you should be able to make out a track through the trees we have made opposite the garage door starting between the fir tree in front of the stone column ,closest to the street and the 2 large Aspen trees. There is a small sign pointing you in the right direction on one of the Aspen trees.
you may need to make your own track if there has been a lot of fresh snow.
We do not recommend this way to the ski slopes for beginners. It may also be too flat for snowboards. We ask that you do not walk on it as you are likely to sink into the snow.
You can use it to go out skiing but to come home you need to walk back.
To come home after skiing, there is a path exiting the ski trail at the junction of the Double Cabins and Sundance ski runs that starts on the edge of Double Cabins right underneath chair 10.
you can ski on it to Hanglider Drive and walk along the street and right into Gold Hill Court. it is about 120 yards."
Complimentary Dial a Ride is also available to get to and from the ski slopes if the ski trail or the walk is inconvenient.
Nice stay during Christmas week
Our family enjoyed the home. It was spacious enough for 8, with plenty of sleeping areas and private baths. The hosts were easy to contact and communicated well. Last year we stayed on the other side of Double Cabin and it truly was a ski-in ski-out experience. This home is sort-of OK for ski-out, but ski-in is a challenge. If it weren't for the Dial-A-Ride app the home would not have worked for us. The thermostat in the master did not work and the room was cold throughout the week, but the other thermostats worked well -- probably just needs some maintenance. The vent for the stove is also challenging as it does not rise up to collect the odor when cooking, just a maintenance problem. We looked high and low for a fondue pot for fondue on Christmas eve and could not find one in the home, both the hardware store and Dakota's were sold out. The home could really benefit from a fondue pot provided for the holiday season. The hot tub was wonderful and we enjoyed it almost every night, but one evening it tripped and we had to go to the garage to fix the breaker. We're not sure what tripped it. We brought our own games, but loved the pool table! There are plenty of dishes, glasses, spices, mugs, etc., in the kitchen. The dining table was large enough for our group and had bar stools, which was handy for a quick meal. The fireplace draws the warm air out of the house and makes the home cold, so we did not use it, but the one in the second master was amazing and that room actually can get very warm! The steam shower was wonderful in the master and needed after a day on the slopes. Washer and dryer work well and detergent is supplied. The keypad on the garage is finicky, but works after 2-3 attempts. Overall, we enjoyed the home, but would probably look around for a better location on the mountain if we plan on skiing. We heard many amazing things about the owners and their delicious recipes from the locals... we'd love to have had a recipe book of some of their stews in the home! Overall, we'd recommend this home if the maintenance items are fixed and if you are a Ok with ski-out only.
thanks for the feedback.we always provide contact details for our caretaker to respond to maintenance issues that arise during the stay.
we will make sure those things are checked immediately.
we do have a recipe folder in the kitchen which does contain some of our favourite dishes.
we try and provide a well equipped kitchen and now know that fondue is a popular Christmas meal in the USA.
the walk back to the home after skiing is quite short and level. For those who do not wish to do the short walk, complimentary Dial a Ride is now available on an App.

Best house in Telluride
We could tell the owners actually use and take pride in this house. From the linens to the kitchen utensils, everything is top notch! The layout was perfect for our 2 families with 4 girls and one boy. We will try to book again. Love this house!
When you rent Eureka you are staying in a family home that we share with guests. We strive to make it as comfortable and welcoming as possible.
Eureka ligger 120 yards fra skiløjperne om vinteren og markedet, vinhandel og gondol er en kort gåtur væk.
