Escape to your own private Adirondack retreat at Oven Mountain Chalets. Nestled on 10 secluded acres with scenic ponds, wooded surroundings, this custom-built chalet offers the perfect balance of privacy and convenience. Located just 7 minutes from Gore Mountain, North Creek, and the North Creek Ski Bowl, you'll have easy access to skiing, hiking, rafting, biking, snowmobiling, and everything the Adirondacks have to offer.

The open-concept chalet is thoughtfully designed for couples, small families, or business travelers. It comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests with a custom queen bed and built-in sofa that converts into two twin beds. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove/oven, under counter refrigerator/ seperate under counter freezer, cookware, and everything needed to prepare meals.

The chalet exceeded our expectations. All the amenities and details created an atmosphere that was cozy and welcoming. The extra touches such as the homemade cookies that were waiting for us when we arrived was so thoughtful. We will definitely be going back!

Beautiful chalet. Loved the lights on the porch and suggestions given by the hosts. The binder with all the things to do and what past guest loved to do around the area was awesome and helpful. Got to see so many shooting stars, it was amazing. The welcoming could not have been better. The treats and card were a perfect touch, along with the happy birthday banner for my husband's 50th birthday we were celebrating. Property is gorgeous with lots of wildlife and a peaceful bench with running water to listen too Loved all the wood! Thank you again! We plan to be back.

This chalet was perfect for our weekend get away, everything was just as I expected! The chalet was so clean, the bed was super comfy, the screened in porch was great, and the kitchen had some staples on hand (spices, half and half, coffee, butter…). My boyfriend loved using the fire pit at night when we’d get back to the chalet from a day exploring and during the daytime I loved all the little outside details, wild, native flowers everywhere, and cute birdhouses sprinkled around the property. The guide to the chalet had lots of information about the property and gave us a lot of ideas for things to do. We really enjoyed ourselves and the chalet, could definitely do a long weekend there again, maybe with some snow! P.s. the cookies the hosts leave at check-in are amazing.

Great destination

The Chalet was very clean and exactly as described. It was a great quiet get away yet still had many activities within driving distance. Bill and Suzie were wonderful hosts and were available if we needed them. We would definitely stay at the Chalet again.

A fantastic place! Beautiful and immaculate. Super quiet location, screen porch overlooks the yard area and pond/ wetland. Well equipped kitchen with coffee, tea and basics like oils and spices. Cookies greeted us on arrival :)

Very secluded and very private spot

Our stay was amazing, in the mornings there were Whitetail deer walking around geese turtles, frogs, and then we’d go down the road for a walk to a waterfall and have a coffee. What amazing spot this place was

We loved the chalet. Everything inside was very nice and they made the most of the space. It was also well stocked. The area is so pretty. Easy access to Gore Mountain. And the kids loved sledding on the property. Bill and Suzie are the best hosts. We had ice and snow overnight separately and they were out each morning to plow, shovel and sand. And the welcome cake was so tasty. Can’t say enough good things about our stay. The chalet, the area and the hosts are amazing.

Another Great Stay!

This was our 5th stay at the Chalet and our first in the winter (very easy access to Gore Mountain!). Bill and Suzie are amazing hosts in all regards (I am sure a more detailed review from us is below)... they even update the decorating to match the season! We are looking forward to our next visit this summer!

Our names are Bill and Suzie Foster. We have a black and white cat named Pepper Cat, which you may see from time to time. (Please let us know if you are allergic to cats, so that we can keep her inside until you check out.)
After over 20 years the of enjoying the Adirondacks for camping, boating, and snowmobiling we decided to move from Westchester County, NY. to live full time in the Adirondacks. We fell in love with this property the moment we discovered it and imagined of all the possibilities.
The property has evolved over the years. Many improvements were made, such as tree removals to set in new electric, water, cable, and propane lines. With the help from family, friends, and some local contractors, we were able to incorporate our visions and personal designs. Chalet 1 is a work of love and has been created with your comfort in mind. Giving you the feeling of home away from home.

Derfor valgte værten dette overnatningssted

We chose this neighborhood based on many factors. The community is small and quaint with Gore Mountain Ski area, many hiking trails, water tubing on the Hudson River and many lakes and streams within a 6- million-acre park in the Adirondacks all not far from our home. The road is a dirt road with the woods and mountains surrounding you. Yet we are close to the main roads taking you in many directions. Plus, the town takes care of the roads all year round. Making getting out in a snowstorm not a problem.
Downtown North Creek has everything we need from small quaint shops, a Tops grocery store, Walgreens drug store, and restaurants. With many other small towns and Lake George within 20 to 40 minutes away. Giving more options for shopping and activities for all ages alike.

Our property is unique because of the 2 private wildlife ponds and woods that it sits on. To wake up in the springtime and hearing the birds and the waterfowls starting their day on the ponds is an amazing experience. There is so many things to take in, to see and interact with around you. Or just sitting along the pond listening and watching peacefully taking it all in either way every day is different in the experience. In the summer the night skies are beautiful with the open canvas of stars, planets, and watching shooting stars above you at the fire pit. hearing the tree frogs and crickets singing their nightly songs. In the fall season the property changes with the season just like the nature around the ponds. The sun sets are gorgeous with its shades of blue, pink and orange and definitely not disappointing. In the winter the otters come to feed on the fish in the pond, and to play on the ice and snow. Watch the sun rise on the balcony with the snow showers shine in the sun rays is especially special and purely magical. The Chalet is unique because it was specially designed for our guests needs in mind. From its layout to what is provided for our guests. We pride ourselves to give our guests and treat our guests as we would want for ourselves and family. We love meeting our guests if they wish to interact with us. But we truly respect their privacy if that is what they want. Knowing that we are a call away if they need something. We find most guests feel the Chalet is a special place because when you are in the Chalet, you look forward to returning home to the Chalet at the end of your day of activities. Which is the response we love to hear from our guest, because it means we are doing our job in providing that special place that they can call their special home away from home.
