Place was about as private, quiet, and beautiful as can be. Great Adirondack location. I was more used to staying a little south (chestertown, bolton landing), but this was better. No crowds at all. We will definitely be back.

The host was excellent, the place is better than described if that's possible. I have stayed in the Adirondacks alot over the past 20 years and this was a great experience from locking it in to preparing to leave.

I am very happy about the house, it was an amazing time for the duration we spent there, many rooms and bathrooms to accompany a big family. There are also many activities not too far from the house.

Great Ski Weekend

Alex was absolutely incredible at communicating all the way through. Comfortable, clean and welcoming place at the end of a road that makes you feel miles from everything. The darkest skies we have seen since the southwest made for AMAZING star gazing and so SO quiet!!Beds were comfy, bathrooms immaculate. Kitchen well stocked with all kinds of extras like oil, spices, coffee, sugar. Great 5 mile hike at the other end of the road and close proximity to so many things. Alex and Suzette clearly care about their house and have made it a wonderful, fun place for families to space out and play together. Thank you for having us!

long weekend getaway

Great location for our ski weekend with our family. The house was clean, warm and welcoming. Alex, was very responsive to our questions in advance and during our stay. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and plenty to keep our children entertained. The location was secluded but a pretty easy trip to the mountain. We hope to stay again.

A great vacation house

This house worked out so well for our little vacation to the Adirondacks. Such a nice, clean, well stocked and quiet house. The kids loved the house and especially the lovely hidden gem, Minerva lake. Alex was a pleasure to deal with and even let us come early and stay late. We would definitely recommend the house. Beautiful and Peaceful!

Spacious home thoughtfully prepared for a welcoming and comfortable stay! Our family enjoyed the outdoor space, sunrise and mountain views! Kayaking at Lake Minerva is just down the road, this is an excellent location near many hiking trails as well. Homeowners were easily accessible and responsive when needed... Would stay here again! ...longer next time!

Mountain View fun

Such a wonderful, peaceful, and beautiful views property! It was just us and the zillion stars, quite seclusion, and Mountain views. This house was exceptionally clean, well stocked, and had so many fun extras. I really wish I had my grandkids with us because the house had so many fun games and big yard. Host was so good with communication and suggestions for great restaurants and activities. We highly recommend this property for a relaxing getaway!

Very nice house in beautiful location

We came up to the Adirondack Mountains to visit family and this was the perfect place to stay. The house is in great shape, ready for guests, super clean. Has lots of outdoor spaces, a porch, decks and fire ring. The location is just what you expect—beautiful and peaceful. Note: The bunk beds are adult size! Something my 6’3” son really appreciated. Great hosts—excellent communication, easy entry, and lots of ideas for things to do in the area year round. Thank you so much!

we will for sure be back!

my seven year old called this "glamping"...and he's not wrong. what a wonderful opportunity to stay in a pristine home in the ADK mountains, with plenty of distance, but close to so many activities and restaurants. we in particular loved the "rail biking" experience, with breathtaking views of the Hudson and some exercise to boot. Alex made everything so easy and has a ton of suggestions for things to do. felt like a home away from home. again, we WILL be back

Amazing place in the Adks! It exceeded all of our expectations. If you want to be deep in the woods surrounded by mountains, this is the place. Alex was so generous with everything in the house. We were there to celebrate my mom’s 85th bday in North Creek. The kitchen was perfect for our needs to prepare food for her party. The master bathroom has views of the moon at night and sunrise in the morning not to mentions all the Mts around. We would stay again hopefully in winter or fall. The place was very easy to find and down the street from the beach in Minerva where we love to swim. Thanks again for sharing your Adk home with us.

Tranquility

The house had it all. Hiking trails, ponds, camp fires, the wood burning stove is great, games for the kids, all the kitchen things we needed. The house is personal I like that. My kids nor my husband wanted to leave. We would definitely go back. Homeowner we east to communicate with.

This was a great home base to do a lot of Adirondack activities. The house is lovely with lots of movies, games, and puzzles to enjoy. The kids loved playing the Wii and we had a very lively foosball match! Loved the fire pit and having firewood provided was so convenient. The bathrooms had plenty of amenities supplied if you forgot to pack anything. The kitchen is well equipped and it was great that it was well stocked with spices, condiments, and other supplies which would be to much to pack and bring! The place is secluded and I loved sitting out front in the Adirondack chair in the morning to drink my coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet. I would gladly come stay here again!

Delightfully family getaway

Our family of 6 had a fantastic stay here! Alex and Suzette are wonderful hosts, and their home is incredibly comfortable and clean. They have graciously stocked their home with many thoughtful items available for their guests to use. We especially appreciated that kids are welcome here, which is clear from the wide variety of kids games, bikes, toys, etc. Our kids really enjoyed playing on the Wii after a day of exploring the region. And the location is great; a beautiful, secluded area, without needing to go far to find things to do! We were able to enjoy garnet mining, a visit to Natural Stone Bridge and Caves, hiking up Mt. Severance and kayaking on Lake George. Awesome family trip! Thank you so much!!

Mountain Vacation

House and Property was gorgeous. House was exceptionally clean, and had everything I needed to have a quiet, and peaceful vacation. The views were gorgeous, and the stars were breathtaking. I loved the privacy of the surroundings, and spent hours outside, in the screen porch, and back deck. The Adirondack mountains, are one of my favorite mountain regions, with beautiful sites to be seen. The hosts, Alex and Suzette, were also great, checked in with us, throughout our stay and really provided the perfect location for my husband, daughter and I to have some time away from the hustle and bustle of life. Thank you again! I highly recommend this property.

Great place

We had a great stay at the house. We came to ice fish on Schroon Lake and it met all of our needs. It was close to both the north and south end of the lake. There was plenty of room and beds for all 5 of us and the kitchen was great for us to cook breakfast and dinner. We loved the wood burning stove as it got the place warmed up quickly even though it got below zero both nights. The basement area was perfect for us to put out our gear and clothes to dry for the next day. Alex was very responsive to email and text and was very detailed with his instructions. I would highly recommend staying here for any time of year. I am talking to my wife about coming back up with my family during the Summer.

We had a fantastic stay! We've stayed at a number of VRBOs in the ADK over the last 5-10 years and this was one of the best. They do a lot of the little things better than most. Alex was very responsive and helpful; booking and check-in/out were really easy. The house has a great layout with multiple great spots for relaxing. Kitchen is well-appointed. We visited in early Oct to do some hiking in the southern High Peaks. I'd love to come back in the winter and stay for a ski trip at Gore. Beautiful views from the property. Would have like to sit out around a fire, but couldn't due to the statewide burn ban. Easy drive to North Creek or Schroon Lake for dinner (we liked Sticks and Stones in Schroon Lake!) or to get groceries/supplies. All in all, couldn't ask for a better experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Alex’s home. The home was very comfortable, exceptionally clean and had lots of space for our family to spread out. The home was well equipped with anything you could possibly need as well as thoughtful instructions and guides for the home and the area. The property was breathtaking with amazing mountain views and numerous hiking trails. Our favorite memory is hiking to Sherman pond and listening to Elk call across the water. Minerva lake is just down the road with a welcoming beach, kayak rentals and plenty of fishing spots for the kids. Lake George was only a 40 minute drive where we spent the day. The home is very family friendly and had numerous activities indoor and outdoors for our family. Would highly recommended this home for anyone looking to experience all the Adirondacks have to offer.

Perfect Adirondack Retreat

Stayed at Alex and Suzette's place for the second summer in a row! Clean, spacious and cozy large home surrounded by acres of woods at the end of a road, with lovely Adirondack decor. So quiet and peaceful, yet just a 5 minute drive to Minerva Lake with its bustling beach and walking trails. And a 5 minute drive to a mini-mart/gas station, also. We paddled on Henderson Lake in Newcomb and went for a long hike down to the Hudson River via the Blue Ledges Trail right there in Minerva. On clear nights we enjoyed campfires in the firepit in the backyard, and on rainy days we found puzzles and books in the 'library room'. Loved the convenience of the washer/dryer, the large modern kitchen, and the 3.5 bathrooms. We HIGHLY recommend this beautiful home and hope to stay again summer 2025!

Perfect Location and Home for a Quiet Family Getaway

Loved our stay at this BEAUTIFUL and secluded property! The home was clean and welcoming, with lovely Adirondack decor. We enjoyed doing puzzles at the very large dining table, gathering at the campfire after dinner, and exploring the trails on the wooded 60-acres. Off the beaten path, so VERY peaceful, yet just a 10- minute drive to a local small store, gas, restaurants, and awesome Minerva Lake and beach. We hiked local trails-- to Sherman Pond where we were greeted by a very vocal loon, to Stony Pond where we enjoyed lunch at the lean-to, and up Moxham Mountain for a spectacular view. We paddled our Hornbeck boats on quiet Rich Lake in nearby Newcomb, and also on Minerva Lake where we watched osprey parents bring fish to their squeaking babies high up in the trees in a large nest. Thank you Alex and Suzette for opening your lovely home to us. We highly recommend this property and hope to return next summer!!

Secluded, clean, fully stocked

I'm an astronomer who booked this property solely for the dark skies, and they didn't disappoint - the Milky Way appears in clear and fine detail, and shooting stars dot the skies constantly. I was able to capture the dark dust around the Iris Nebula with only a few minutes of exposure. The property itself is massive and sprawling - you're not limited to just the fire pit, and can relax by the pond, step through the meadows, or just lie down in one of the many couches on the first floor. We cooked most of our meals in their excellently supplied kitchen. The property is very clean, and Alex was very responsive and proactive about making sure we had an excellent stay. The only thing we thought was missing for even a moment was a dishwasher, and that didn't have a significant impact on our stay at all.

This place is fantastic! Our family just finished our second stay here, and before we even left, the kids were asking when we can come back. It's clear that this is not just some rental property for the host. It is their long-time family retreat, and that fact shines through in all the best ways. The house as everything you need and lots that you didn't know you'd want. Internet service is fast and steady, and wifi coverage is excellent. The kitchen is thoroughly equipped by someone who has clearly cooked more than a few family meals there themselves. The hosts themselves are wonderful. Everything you could need to know is written down, well organized, and sent to you in advance. If there are any lingering questions, Alex is incredibly responsive and helpful. The property is serene and quiet, with a killer view of undisturbed wilderness. Really, the only hard part was leaving.
