Our classic coastal 4 bedroom 3 bath cottage is the perfect family getaway! A large open living space that includes the kitchen and dining area is located upstairs. Just down the hall holds the main bathroom and 3 bedrooms (main has bathroom.) The ground level includes a 4th bedroom, 3rd bathroom with washer and dryer. It also boasts a pool table, a large sitting area with 2 couches and surround sound system. Step out the back to soak in the hot tub or out the front towards the DIRECT BEACH ACCESS! Come check us out! 🌊

The online photos make it difficult to understand the basement layout. For a place to sleep 9 there were only two thin clearly old bath towels in each of the 3 bathrooms. Because trash pickup had not occurred prior to our arrival the outdoor cans were nearly filled and very smelly. Upon entry the storm door handle fell off. When reported the response I received was “oh my”. The house was tastefully furnished. Rec room - The pool sticks were not in good repair ( broken off tips) and the air hockey table not blowing air. The hot tub was not appealing so we avoided it. I think some attention to aging items and the yard would improve the quality for the .

This property was just as listed. Tye kitchen had all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils to male eating in a breeze. We enjoyed how easy the walk to and from the beach was each day. All the rooms had plenty of closet room and drawer space. We would definitely would rent again.

Great first OBX stay!

It was our very first stay at OBX. The house worked great for our family with the very short - and direct walk to beach. Grocery store was close by to grab essentials like toilet paper, laundry detergent and snacks. Very close to many places to eat. Great stay, can’t wait to return!

Shore was Fun

Property was exactly as listed and pictured and more. Decorated so nicely, kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Beds were comfortable and clean. Highly recommend and will book again next year!

Perfect getaway

We had such a great stay. The host was super helpful & returned my messages immediately. The house is close to the beach but also included lots of fun stuff to do there on rainy days. Everything was super clean & we loved our check in package.

OBX Rookies

This was our first trip to OBX and highly recommend ‘Shore Beats Work’! There’s plenty of space for six adults! The downstairs with pool table and tv was an added bonus! Jamie is an amazing host and gave wonderful restaurant recommendations to celebrate our daughter’s birthday! Thank you!

Great house for a small family!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Communication was great with the host! We were provided with a cute little list of things to do in the OBX and a welcome bag with some basics for the house. Overall a great experience and we look forward to coming back again.

Very nice

Enjoyed the home very much. Loved the space and the pool table was a hit by all. Outdoor shower we loved. Easy and straight shot to the beach which was nice.

Great place for a vacation

My friends and I had a great time at shore beats work. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, corn hole boards and pool table during the non beach days. It was a very convenient walk to the beach as well. We liked it so much we are already booked again for next year! Jamie was very responsive and even checked in on us during our stay. We’d definitely recommend it!

Beach week

I stayed at the house with my daughter and her friends for graduation beach week. It was a quick walk to the beach and short drive to everything else. The girls enjoyed walking to the beach to see the sunrise each day. We were all very comfortable. It was a great trip.

Fantastic getaway!!

We had such a wonderful time with friends renting this home for the week. Just a few minutes walk from the beach or even a very short drive with a parking lot right next to the beach when we wanted to bring chairs, umbrellas, and other beach gear. Jamie was so lovely to work with, extremely responsive to messages, and very accommodating. We would highly recommend this home for any family looking for a relaxing beach vacation in OBX!

August 7-14th

The property was exactly what the pictures showed! It was clean and had everything we needed. The extra trash days were a nice thing to have with so many people. Short walk to the beach, and close to a lot of restaurants.

Family Fun

Beautiful two story property with plenty of room for nine people. Three bathrooms makes a big difference! The pool table was a hit with the younger crowd when we weren’t on the beach, cooking meals or exploring. Lots of wildlife visible in the clear water. The planning, check in and out could not have been easier. One of my favorite things was the door code entry, no keys to lose, we could come and go with no worries. Great memories were made. Thanks so much!

Shore beats work and then some

We arrived early by a half hour and the code wouldn’t work, but calling the hostess allowed us to get in right away. She was very nice and responsive. While at the house she checked in on us and how our stay was going, which was nice. We had a great time at this house, it was a great size for us all to fit. Though the mattresses were a little harder than we would have liked. Also, there wasn’t any reference to trash day and we weren’t sure when to put the cans out. The main bathroom also had a higher water pressure and the water would leak out a bit. There was a lot to do here, games, hot tub, pool table, etc. We had a nice short walk to the beach, just a road and a grass lot away. Town wasn’t too far away either, a quick bike ride would get you there in a few minutes. While the major road was very busy at times, the side roads weren’t nearly as bad. They provide a nice wagon to use to lug stuff to the beach. We had a wonderful view of the monument from the front porch. It was a great time, a good house, and we all recommend staying here!

I'm sorry that the directions in the welcome book were not clear enough for you about the trash, I'll look into that. I also thank you for letting me know about the water leakage as we had not had a problem with that with our previous guest and must have started during your stay. It to will be immediately addressed. Perfect house for our family!

This was the perfect house for our family vacation! We had five adults (two couples, one single) and two kids, ages 4 and 7. The house was a great size, rooms for everyone, including a bunk room for the kids. The kitchen and living room is one big open space which is nice. And the downstairs hang out area was awesome, with a pool table, air hockey, a TV, darts. If you had older kids it would be a perfect set up, somewhere for them to hang out, and upstairs for adults. Kitchen was nice and big, and had everything we needed to cook. I also appreciated the big dining room table that seats 8, so we could all eat together. The house was nice and clean when we got there, and in my opinion, furnished to the exact right point of feeling inviting and comfortable without feeling too stuffy or like you're just in so eone else's house. The walk to the beach is super easy, just a block and a half. We brought a wagon and loaded the tent and chairs and beach toys in it, and it was an easy stroll every morning, for everyone including the 4 year old and the 72 year old. There are plenty of dinner or entertainment options super close by too. Communication with the host was great, i got a personal confirmation right after booking, a message a week or two before the trip with all the details, and the door is a code lock so super easy to get in. And no crazy list of things to when leaving, just basic do dishes and take out the trash.

We had a great first impression of the place: a spacious open living room and kitchen. The house is close to the beach and, lucky us, the sunrise lined up perfectly down our street on our first few days there! It was nice having Roku on all the tvs. It's close to different activities. We had a great week here.

This home is phenomenal and truly had it all! Our party of 6 had so much space. Bedrooms are good sized (with comfy beds), and the common areas are big, open and perfect for sharing meals together and game nights. Speaking of meals and game nights....the kitchen is fully & thoughtfully stocked, we were surprised to find an abundance of everything we needed to whip up and share a big meal! Our family also enjoyed many rounds of pool, and there was a large offering of board games available. The proximity to the beach was a plus! Definitely close enough to walk, but we found that there was usually plenty of parking at the closest beach access. We brought alot of our own beach stuff but there was plenty of gear provided. Our kids especially enjoyed trying out the boogie boards! Close proximity to restaurants, coffee shops(highly recommend The Den), & shopping. Check-in/check-out were a breeze, and the host was very communicative and provided all the information we would need to have an enjoyable and comfortable stay!

Hi! My name is Jamie Grant. I am a married mother of two beautiful girls. My husband and I have both owned our own businesses and just recently decided to venture into another.

We purchased this comfy cottage in November of 2020. We have always enjoyed our beach getaways to make memories and wanted to offer other families a place to do the same. We are very simple people that enjoy the moments that are made rather than the material things that are had. We enjoy hosting others because a good time should always be had and we all know that the beach "Shore Beats Work!"

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

Shore Beats Work has fantastic views of the Wright Memorial to the right and the beach is to the left. The greatest thing about our location is that we are not on a cut through street, but have a paper road that allows for easy direct access to the beach! This is perfect for those that have small children. There is NO heavy traffic on our road. Speaking of children, we are within walking distance to the DQ!! Bonus for children of all ages (including us adults.) Shore Beats Works is only a few miles from Food Lion and Belks! I guess you could say that we are in the heart of everything, but the noise! After hanging out at the beach all day, you can relax in the Jacuzzi, play some pool, watch some movies or just relax on our large deck. Vacations were made to be this easy! See you soon!
