The host, Jorge, was very welcoming--friendly and generous with his time explaining the apartment and nearby restaurants and bars. It was the best equipped VRBO I've ever been in, with lots of condiments, coffee, fruit, even wine and pastries.

We are very happy that you appreciated all the details of our service and the excellent location of the Art Nouveau Townhouse in the city center, in the charismatic Duques district, close to several points of interest, such as three of the city's main theaters: the beautiful Art Deco Rivoli Theater, the imposing modernist/Deco Colosseum, and the oldest and majestic São João National Theater. It is also a short walk from Santa Catarina Street (one of the main streets in the city center and home to the iconic Majestic café). However, it is a comfortable 15/20 minute walk from the Cathedral / Ribeira areas, close enough but far enough away to avoid the constraints characteristic of a somewhat rougher and more aggressive part of the city, especially at night. We look forward to your return!

Stay out of Tourist areas

This property was the best property we staid in during our month long trip to Portugal. It was cute, had everything needed, loved the small deck for evenings. Kitchen was well stocked Great, quiet fun neighborhood, but close enough to the waterfront, without the noise and turmoil. Several great restaurants in the area.

Come see Porto!

I love it when a host really thinks about how best to make their property an enjoyable place for a visit. From the welcoming Port and comfy chairs in the entrance, to the space it self, which was so stylish and utilized in the best ways possible. Jorge is top notch. Highly recommend!

Can you give 6 stars?

This place was perfection, and I rarely say that or give 5 stars. The host and his sister could teach classes on how to host. Perfectly clean, beautiful apartment, stocked with everything you would need including cookies and port. Fruit basket on arrival and cleaning while we were here. I would not go or stay anywhere else. Perfection.

Loved Porto AND loved the apartment

We spent five nights in the Art Nouveau rooftop duplex and enjoyed it and Porto immensely! The place was immaculate and extras were really appreciated - fresh fruit, port wine, candies and cookies. What's not to like about cookies! Manuela was a gracious host and walked us through sights to see, restaurants and the neighbourhood in detail. Comfy bed but watch not to bump your head on the sloped ceiling!

Canadians

The flat is very clean and functional. It is clearly shown on the VRBO site regarding the head room for the bedroom and the sloped ceiling. There are no surprises. The host Manuela was extremely helpful and wonderful to deal with.

Bijou apartment

Stayed for one week. Great location. Good local shops and easy walk into the main city areas. Generous hosts- fruit, port,and basics in the kitchen all provided. We enjoyed our stay but despite being short (5ft 2 inches and 5ft 8 inches tall) we did find the bedroom bijou/small. It is advertised very clearly as 'low headroom' Im afraid this would put us off re booking. There were larger apartments in the block owned and decorated similarly by the same host- would considere one of these larger spaces.

The advertisement is very clear about the areas and the height of part of the ceiling in the bedroom, whether in the text or in the photos (all with captions). We are sorry that due to your lack of attention to the photos and information present in the advertisement, you did not fully enjoy your stay, giving a rating below those we always have, in this and other units. We are also sorry for your behavior during your stay, which led us to share it on the platform and reflect on the evaluation we gave you as a guest.

100% recommend!

If I have another trip to Porto I will absolutely be booking with Jorge again and will recommend to book here to even the most discerning friend! The neighborhood was beautiful and very walkable to areas you may want to visit. The townhome was beautiful. They laid out snacks and Port in the communal area that we enjoyed with our friends also staying in the townhome. The Balcony apartment was very nice with every amenity you could want. Jorge left us complementary wine and port in the apartment and even delivered more coffee and towels a few days into our stay. This is really a special place and I look forward to staying here again. Thank you Jorge and Manuela for a wonderful stay!

Paradise in Porto!

My spouse and I had a fabulous stay in the Balcony Studio in a very swanky, Art Nouveau styled house. Everything seemed upscale and new. The lobby was richly appointed in a funky 1920’s era style. Port wines, Portuguese cookies and candies were in place within the lobby 24/7 to partake at your leisure. Our balcony studio was huge. Two showered bathrooms, washer, kitchen and even a balcony off the living room! The surrounding area is an authentic “Portuguese” neighborhood. Not touristy at all. Very safe as we often returned back to the apartment well after 11pm. Jorge and his sister Manuela are extremely friendly and quite knowledgeable about their city. We had the best time in the Balcony Studio and highly recommend this prize and can’t wait to return!
