Amazing property. So much fun and very convenient to everything. Added bonus of having an ice cream shop right in front of the house. Walked down to a turtle nest and was able to watch it hatch!

Thank you for telling us directly while you were still in the house, with photos, instead of saving it for here. That is the most useful thing a guest can do for us and I do not take it for granted. Thank you as well for leaving the place in such good order on your way out, our manager noticed. The furniture and the kitchen you flagged are with our team. I hope the beach access made up for some of it, and that we get another go.

Great location with direct access to the beach and convenient walking to restaurants and shops. House is well appointed with everything you need. Size was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 6 children.

A wonderful, family friendly stay!

We had a fantastic time at this clean and beautifully put together house! The location was perfect for kids (direct beach access, walkable restaurants). We highly recommend!

We had a great time. House is in a good location. Can walk to restaurant, grocery store and shops. Kitchen fully stocked. Hot tub was great!! The house could use a little maintenance. None of the blinds, which are between glass, seem to work. Toilet seat in powder should be replaced.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m glad you had a great time and enjoyed the walkable Surf City location, the stocked kitchen, and the hot tub. The powder room toilet seat has been replaced. I’m sorry about the blinds, they sit between the two panes of glass and can be stubborn to operate. Fixing that properly means replacing the whole door and window units, so we’re planning to do it as early as we can in the slow season.

Great location

This is a great property located right next to the pier in Surf City. Plenty of room for my entire group! The property does need a tiny bit of TLC but nothing that would make us not want to stay here in the future.

This house was exactly what we needed for a relaxing week at the beach! It's designed and decorated kid friendly. It's located directly on the beach with easy beach access and perfect for people watching. It's also close to many restaurants, icecream, and shopping. Topsail has always been great for finding sharks teeth but this trip aligned with Hurricane Erin which improved our treasure hunt. We will definitely be visiting again.

The house is in the perfect location. You can walk or just a short drive to anything you need. The Host and Host’s Manager/housekeeper were very easy to work with and very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Everything you need on one floor and rooms and beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms and kitchen could have been a little cleaner but had everything we needed. Deck is perfect to sit on and enjoy your morning coffee or just sit and listen to the waves and watch the surfers and dolphins and the hot tub is in the perfect spot and so big. The perfect house for an off season visit for us and hope to be back soon!!

Location

What a great place for off season. Everything was walking distance and the pier was next door! Hot tub overlooking the ocean was incredible.

Perfect location!

Great house, perfect location and the view is amazing! We had the best vacation spending tons of time on deck. The house was well stocked and very comfortable! John and Christine were great to work with and we can’t wait to come back!

Excellent!

The property was amazing and convenient to everything in Surf City. We loved the layout and the property had everything we needed (and wanted!). We had a minor air conditioner issue on Sunday but the property manager and owner had someone out within a few hours, they were great!!! We will definitely book this property again!

We had a wonderful few days here! The location is fantastic - park your car once and walk everywhere- grocery, donuts and ice cream! Beautiful beach, right next to the Surf City Pier! Hot tub was so nice with ocean views. Outdoor shower was perfect. Lots of chairs and sand toys available. Comfortable beds and pillows! All linens included. Nice drink fridge too!

Love this house

Everyone absolutely loved their stay at this house! The location could not have been more convenient and the deck was absolutely fabulous. The owners have thought of every detail and have equipped the house with everything you need to make your stay 10/10. Would absolutely book this home again for an incredible beach vacay!

We had a fantastic stay at John's vacation house in Surf City. The house was perfect for our needs, with plenty of bedrooms, large public spaces, and a great oceanfront deck with hot tub. The house came well stocked - kitchen supplies, many beach towels, beach chairs & toys, boogie boards all included. It made for a really easy trip with friends. The location is right next to the pier and two dessert places, and walkable to more. A great find for our group! John was friendly and provided a timely response to any question.

We had a good time overall! The location is fantastic and the house was very well-equipped. Beds were very cozy and the communication with John and Christine was quick and attentive. The reason for the lower rating has to do with the many issues experienced. The a/c was out when we arrived making it 93 inside. John was very quick to have someone out immediately and it was fixed that night but the next morning it was out again and was not fixed until over 12 hours later that evening. The dishwasher was also broken during our stay. They did offer to replace it but between the short 3 day trip and no a/c we opted out of having another person in the house. The house could just use some TLC, broken blinds and doors, lights/fans not working, mold around a good portion of air vents, etc.Again, communication was great with trying to get these uncontrollable issues taken care of but I wish there was more of a concession offered other than just a sorry and late check out for a major inconvenience like no a/c in the middle of Summer. Although we did enjoy the beach and the space, these issues did impact the trip so this rating reflects that.

Thank you for setting all of this out so plainly. Cooling trouble in the middle of July is the last thing anyone wants on a beach trip, and I am sorry it took any of your time at all. We had a technician out twice over it, that night and again the next day, and our manager stayed with you in between. The wear you describe around the house has gone to our team as a list, not a note. If you give us another chance, I would like to show you the house on a normal week.
