The Copper Fox Mountain Home is a bright and cozy 3 story home with a wonderful wall of windows to watch the sunrise or snow falling. Having 2 living areas and 2 kitchens, it gives just the right amount of space to gather as a group or to have some time to yourself in another part of the home. It is the perfect area to have an adventurous vacation or a place to relax and decompress with the family.

The location is fantastic and easy to get to on the paved roads and driveway. It is just 2.5 miles to Franklin’s Historical Main Street. Here you will find the town square for celebrations and fairs, cute little restaurants, hiking, vintage shopping, a farmer’s market on Saturdays and a fabulous bakery. There are also plenty of food stores and a Walmart within a few miles for the necessities.

When you arrive, be sure to check to see if there are any deer or bunnies in the backyard. The home has two separate decks and a gas grill for cookouts. Each of the two full kitchens have all the essentials you will need for your stay. The main floor consists of the family room, gas fireplace, kitchen, master bedroom (king-sized bed), washer and dryer and a nice whirlpool tub to soak in after a long day of hiking. The top floor has a queen bed a full bathroom and a semiprivate loft with a futon (double). The bottom floor consists of a family room, kitchen, dining table, two full bathrooms, a full-sized bed, a set of twin beds and its own private entrance and deck. Trash service is provided as well.

There are many things to do in the area within a quick beautiful drive. Some would include:
Franklin Golf – at the base of the mountain.
The Factory – arcade games, laser tag, go cart, mini golf and food.
Waterfalls – This would include Dry Falls, Bridal Falls, and numerous others along the way to Highlands.
Swimming holes – Bust Your Butt Falls, Sliding Rock.
Tubing down the Tuskegee River in Dillsboro.
The famous Dillard House is just 18 miles away.
Vintage shopping – Just about everywhere.
Helen Georgia – 55 miles -A cute little German town, great day trip and tubing.
Great Smoky Mountain Railroad Excursions in Bryson City.
Great hiking, hiking and more hiking.
Wayah Bald – 19 miles. Drive all the way to the top with spectacular views of surrounding mountains and hike a portion of the Appalachian trail. Bring your camera and binoculars!
Asheville is just an hour away. Great little town with lots of shopping and restaurants.
Cataloochee Ski Resort and Tube World is a little over an hour away.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is close by and offers scenic views any time of year.
Smokey Mountains National Park is a scenic drive away.
Nantahala White Water Rafting and ziplining.
Ziplining – Highlands Aerial Park, RidgeRunner Ziplines, Wildwater Nantahala Rafting and Canopy
Harrah’s Cherokee Casino – 33 miles away

This home was perfect for my family while we were in town for my daughter’s wedding. We gathered with extended family over the weekend in this comfortable, well stocked property. I especially enjoyed each family member had their own room and bathroom.The peacefulness of the mountain was the perfect start of each day out on the deck with a cup of coffee. I will definitely stay here again.

This lovely home is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees that rustle beautifully when the wind is gently blowing. Debbie and Rob were quite accessible and very helpful! My husband made parking very doable. Thank you for a lovely time!

Made Great Memories

We loved this Cabin! It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the location was good too. It wasn’t too steep going up the mountain to the Cabin and we saw so many deers. The hosts were very helpful and we loved the recommendations they gave of what places to go to or eat at. The layout of the cabin was also a plus. Our favorite was Wayah bald mountain. What beautiful views the drive was a little scary but so worth it! Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin!

Fantastic Franklin

We had an excellent time in Franklin and staying at Copper Fox made it so much better. It was a gorgeous home and super clean. The beds were comfortable and there was enough room for two families to have space. We loved the electric fireplace and all of the deer and wildlife. Communication was outstanding and the whole experience was super easy! We can't wait to come back.

A great place to stay In Franklin NC

We arrived on Thursday evening and walked into a beautiful, very spacious, and VERY clean home. Everything was perfect. We loved seeing the stars in the sky at night and the wonderful sunrise in the morning. It is in a quiet neighborhood up high on the mountain. Our plans will be to stay here again next year. We loved our time there.

Relaxing mountain getaway

We had a delightful stay at the Copper Fox cabin. There was so much room for everyone. There was an abundance of fresh clean towels and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you'd need to cook for a family. In fact there were 2 kitchens as the ground floor living area also had a fully equipped kitchen. We used the top one. The deck was peaceful and it was lovely to sit out in the morning with our tea. Our hosts were very welcoming and check in was super easy. The cabin is close to many outdoor activities such as Nantahala white water rafting. We would love to come again.

Best vacation rental in Franklin

My family visited Franklin for a family event this weekend. We often stay close to Clayton when visiting family so VRBO has been my go to for booking a vacation rental. This past week we stayed in Franklin for the first time. My family was impressed with the home. The beds were super comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. The home was very clean and very well maintained. The hosts were also very helpful with the check in process which was very helpful since we arrived at the location im the evening.

Great Place to Stay with Friends

My family and I shared this property with my best and her family. Originally, we were going to be a total of 8 people. The house was a perfect set up for this as the downstairs was practically like an apartment that could be separate or part of the main house. The house is easy to get to from the town of Franklin. The property is gorgeous. Although it's in a neighborhood, it felt secluded and was always very quiet. The inside was wonderfully comfortable and had all the amenities. In fact, it is one of the best stocked VRBO homes I've ever stayed in. There was plenty of paper goods, including napkins (I feel like most rentals never have enough of this), the laundry was easy and accessible, plenty of towels and other linens. It is open, bright and airy. The only downside is there's really no yard so if you have younger ones who want to run around they really can't do that at this property. The house is a really easy drive into Franklin for groceries, gas, entertainment, etc. It's also very close to the waterfalls, gem mining hiking trails. There's a wonderful binder with great information about nearby attractions. The location was central and easy to everything we wanted to due. The owner is very kind. We had a little hiccup with check in but she corrected it and made it right so it was no big deal. Our favorite part of staying here was the ready to go s'mores kit that was on the kitchen counter. Our dual family campfire and s'mores chats were the best part of our week.

College friends trip

We enjoyed talking in the living room, at the dining table, and on the deck! Some of us enjoyed yoga! We were happy to have plenty of beds and bathrooms!

Well appointed house

We had an easy and streamlined process from the booking of this house all the way through to checkout. Owners were very communicative and helpful. Everything was as noted in the listing and it was a perfect place for 4 siblings and some spouses to gather and stay with each having their own space. We were able to cook together and sit and visit in an accommodating and welcoming space. Highly recommended!!

Great House - Great Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at the Copper Fox. Debbie and Rich are great hosts, very responsive. The house was exactly as described, and very clean. The house has everything needed for cooking and baking, which we did both. We all enjoyed our time in the Smoky Mountains and we would love to stay again.

Great vacation and stay

Debbie and Rob have a beautiful home that has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Franklin is centrally located and just a short drive to many area attractions. The view from the home was beautiful and very well kept. Every member of the family said their beds were very comfortable. We will stay here again if available on our next trip.

Spacious Beautiful Home

Our family of ten (4 adults and 6 children ages 7-17) stayed for three nights. There was plenty of room for everyone, beds were very comfortable, and house was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make several meals. Grocery store is close. We made a day trip out to Deep Creek in Bryson City (45 min drive) for a picnic and tubing on July 4th. Our family enjoyed the fireworks in downtown Franklin. We went rafting on the Tuckaseegee River in Silva (30 min drive). I especially enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning. It is very quiet and peaceful. Check in was easy and communication with Debbie and Rob was great. We left a couple things behind and we were notified and items mailed back to us. Great trip! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Great property. Well equiped. Close to town. We were on motorcycles and the driveway is a little steep and the turnarount area was a little small so we parked at the top of the driveway. Would use again.

Beautiful!

This is a beautiful home, clean, well stocked and spacious. Our group of 9 which included 3 generations had plenty of space. The driveway was spacious enough for several vehicles but there is no turn around space. Check-in was easy, and the owners communicated with us to ensure we had everything we needed. The neighborhood was very quiet, and we saw deer from the deck. The kids appreciated the 2nd living room, and the 2nd kitchen made meal prep a breeze. The house is located near the top of the mountain but downtown Franklin is just a couple of miles. If you have 2 vehicles, we recommend bringing your our own tubes and kayaks and get in the river at Webster Baptist Church, and get out at the CJ Harris Access in Sylva, the float down river is about 3 hours.

One of the nicest mountain homes we've rented!

This was a lovely home! The view is as great as the pictures suggest. The layout of the place was great - different levels for privacy and noise when some folks stay up later than others. The kitchens available on both the bottom and middle floors was convenient for the size of our group. The washer and drying being in the INCREDIBLE master bath was also helpfully central to everything, especially for washing the towels at the end of our stay. Also of note: the WIFI/internet was better than average than many mountain rentals, which was important since a couple of us did some online work when we first arrived. Debbie & Rob were very communicative and welcoming! We felt like things were well in hand without being intrusive. Everything was decorated, arranged and well-kept, but if anything was needed, we all felt confident that they would have helped quickly and thoughtfully. Will definitely keep this place on the very short list for future visits to the area! Thanks to both of you!
