Beautiful mountain views from this gorgeous 3-story log cabin where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the Nantahala Forest from its wrap-around porch, where you can unwind and relax grab a drink and enjoy a quiet evening by the gas fire-pit, or cozy up by the wood-burning fireplace in the main living room, on those chilly days. You can have it all at Baloo's Mountain Cabin.
Main Floor has 2 Bedroom with King size beds and 2 Full size bathrooms. Ist story has bedroom with King size bed and half bath. Game room with TV, DVD with DVD movies, Board games, cards, puzzles and Foosball game for your entertainment.
Loft has bedroom with a queen size bed and a twin size daybed, on the other side of the loft is a sitting area for you to cozy up with a good book to relax with a dedicated workspace for those that need to bring work with them.

We loved everything about this cabin. Spacious, comfortable, all the amenities you could need. Super fun decor. Easy to communicate with host. Location conducive to the goal of our trip, chasing waterfalls. Would definitely stay here again!

Vacation 2025

The property was nice. We enjoyed sitting outside in the morning and evening listening to the water. It was a great stay and would most definitely recommend this place.

House Located Near a Very Busy Highway

Lovely house and wrap around porch. Unfortunately, it's in a neighborhood (not really in the mountains) and the noise of the highway is very loud.

Very well equipped for your needs

We enjoyed our visit very much. The mountains out the window, the fireplace ( we bought starters), and they did have other things to use which we just did not have time for like the grill and downstairs recreation area. Beds were comfortable and you really felt like you were into cabinet life. It’s very convenient to the highway so that you can have a view of the mountains without having to drive up high to see it. Not being current with all the latest TV choices like Netflix, Hulu, peacock,etc. we be did not use the TV.

Clean, comfortable

We enjoyed our stay, everything was very clean. We cooked a few nights and every morning and greatly enjoyed the layout of this kitchen!

Pros. Immaculate Huge home Nice, well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bedding Newer construction Cons View not as expansive as expected or depicted. Two older homes close by. Dusk to dawn lights from neighbors very visible from deck at night.

Beautiful cabin

We loved everything about this cabin. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. We’re already wanting to book it again for our next vacation. The owners really take time to make sure it’s an enjoyable stay.

Mountain Getaway

We had a great time at the house. It was very clean and spacious and very comfortable. We loved sitting and relaxing on the porch. The house is a fairly close drive to Highlands and other small towns.

Very relaxing and beautiful

Every need was covered. The location beautiful. The cabin was wonderful. The only thing I regret is that I didn't book the property for longer, I will not make that mistake again.

Attractive cabin but near a busy road

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin and especially the large deck. We can tell the cabin was professionally designed and equipped. Nice beds. Unfortunately the road noise below is distracting.

Beautiful home away from home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was so roomy and comfortable with all the amenities that we needed and more. It was also very well kept and clean. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Lovely, Clean Cabin

My family stayed a few nights at this cabin and we had a lovely time! We have very high cleanliness standards and this house was kept in fantastic condition. From the kitchenware to linens to furniture - everything was very well maintained. It truly felt like staying at a hotel. We will definitely book this cabin on our next trip to NC!

Thanksgiving Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving and overall had a great experience at the cabin. No detail was missed and the Luisa was very accommodating letting us check in early. Franklin is just a short drive away and offers a great small town experience. Lots to do nearby, would definitely stay again.

They provided literature for us making everything easier for us to decide. We would definitely like to visit & stay here again in the future.

Originally from Maryland, where we enjoyed the Blue Ridge Mountains, now living in Florida. We used to vacation frequently in the Smoky Mountains but were not always impressed with homes we stayed in. We bought our home here because we enjoy the outdoors, we love hiking, the views, the waterfalls and all That the Smokies has to offer. When we decided to share our home so others could have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, we wanted to make sure our guests would feel like this is their home away from home. Providing them with a comfortable, clean home, with the amenities we ourselves have come to expect. It is delightful to hear from our guests and read the reviews on how much they enjoy their stay in our home.
