The room was clean and check in was very easy. The only bad thing -which is minor - was the elevators and parking garage. When we first arrived on the weekend, the elevators had a little bit of a wait to get on and the parking garage is fairly tight. I know this is not RealJoys fault and more so the actual resort itself, but be weary during busy season. We learned when the busy times were for the elevators and managed to avoid a wait more than half the time. We did go during “off season” so I’m sure that also helped our case. Overall, the beach/pool view was amazing. The room was supplied with plenty of pots/pans for cooking in. The dryer is a little slow to dry clothes if you do big loads, I would have to run it a couple times if I wanted to get everything completely dry, but that’s my only complaint about the room itself. Once we arrived, RealJoy gave me a phone number to message if we had any questions during our stay and they were pretty quick to respond.

The check in process was great, very easy and seamless. The elevators on the weekend were bad, long wait times, and too many people on them. Reports of people getting stuck in them for 4 hours because of having more than 10 people on them. Our room was not as described, stated it sleeps 6 comfortably. The 2nd bedroom was tiny, not a lot of room to move around. The sleeper sofa had no bedding to it, and the 2nd bathroom was in the 2nd bedroom, so anyone sleeping on he couch does not have access to a bathroom without going through a bedroom and possibly waking someone up. The pots and pans in the kitchen are so old and need to be updated. I did ask to be moved to a different room as it was stated that it slept 6 comfortably and didn’t state how tight the 2nd bedroom is or that there wasn’t access to the 2nd bathroom without going through a bedroom. They wouldn’t accommodate anything and told me that there wasn’t nothing they could do. I do feel that this unit is not privately owned and although they said they could understand my complaints, but that there was nothing they could do. I wouldn’t recommend this unit.

Would not recommend

Me & my significant other stayed here, and it was very outdated! The TV’s said no signal on them & could not even watch Netflix or anything. It was also confusing because they had three remotes for each Tv. The table in the kitchen was broken. Then the curtains in the shower had yellow must everywhere. I feel like we got catfished!!

Would not return

The elevators were terrible. We tried to make trips to and from the room minimal as possible. This made trips to the beach harder since we had to pack so much and we tried to only leave the resort for dinner due to elevators and parking. The reserved parking and garage itself were chaotic. I feel like we didn’t do as much because of the accessibility of the property. The instructions given in the email vs a binder we’re not the same. I hope we followed directions properly regarding check out. Our floors were not very clean, carpet stained, towels stained but otherwise appeared clean. The location is wonderful with great beach access if you can ever get there. The resort had the potential to be a lovely spot but I will likely not return.

The perfect place to stay to get away!

The room was very clean and had a perfect view of the pool and beach. I’d definitely stay in this room again…. If it was on a different floor. The only problem we had was the elevators. This resort has 22 floors and only 2 sets of elevators, totaling 4. during our stay only 3, sometimes 2 were working. So during peak hours it would take a lot of patience waiting to get on. Many times we had to wait a second or third time for our turn on the elevator. We waited so long after we first got there we actually walked the 18 flights of steps with 4 kids. I thought I was going to die in the hot stairwell lol. Checking in was a bit of a strain as well because on line it said our wrist bands would be in the room and they were not. I also read online that our wrist bands where included but they were not and I paid around 80 bucks for them. I also see on the fridge that the price was 50 for them so idk if that was out of date or I got ripped off and had to pay for something that was supposed to be cheaper and included. But the room itself was awesome. Very clean and well stocked of essentials. They could use some updated cookware but we managed. Over all I’d stay again but maybe on a floor closer to the parking garage, a lower level.

Megan, we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with some feedback regarding your rental experience. We are happy to know that you thought this awesome one-bedroom, two-bath condo was very clean and well stocked with a perfect view. Please accept our apology for any discomfort or frustration endured during your stay. As mentioned on RealJoy and Vrbo websites, "*Shores of Panama Resort charges a flat fee of $85 at check in. This one-time charge will provide your party with pool wristbands and 1 parking pass. The fee is subject to change as it is set by the onsite HOA.*" Unfortunately, the elevators are property amenities that we do not have control over. We will forward your comment regarding the cookware to property managers so that they may provide any suggestions to the owner of this rental. Thank you for your patience and for choosing RealJoy.

It was not that bad

The good: clean condominium in very good condition, clean hotel pool and clean beaches. THE BAD: ok I'll start with THE SECURITY STAFF OF THE WHOLE HOTEL ""VERY BAD"" they think they own the entire hotel, they are foolish, arrogant and do not help, the elevators are CRAP A REAL HEADACHE, the parking lot is ANOTHER CRAP, ANOTHER REAL HEADACHE, the hot tub is only for 25 people, for a hotel with 796 condominiums I think the tub is a mockery, I THINK I'M A SADOMASOCHIST because every year I go to the same hotel but for next year IT'S TIME TO CHANGE, if you like queuing up in elevators and in your car in the parking lot and if you like bad treatment by the staff THEN THIS HOTEL IS GOOD FOR YOU.

Do yourself a favor and keep browsing....

First of all, I am disappointed that VRBO would even list this place. The actual complex is nice, but they literally only have 3 sets of 2 (total of 6) elevators in this entire complex, only 4 of them were working during our stay. I called the management line to request a blanket (I know, such a difficult request) since there were NO BLANKETS in the ENTIRE unit!! There were bedspreads, which smelled like someone else's body odor, on all the beds, but no blankets. The lady was really nice, and said that no one could bring me a blanket that night, but could at some point the next day. Ok, no problem. Never heard from them again, nor was I able to get them on the phone again, so we never had blankets. Luckily, I am going through "the change" and gave my body odor bedspread to my son, who slept on the couch, while I simply folded two flat sheets in half and covered up that way. Very luxurious on my mini vacay. The unit was dirty; there was still sand and dirt on the floors and when I got in bed ( I slept in the full size bed that was in the bunk room), there was still sand all in my bed. I gave my parents the master, and they said that someone tried to put a queen size fitted sheet on a king bed. There were no more fitted sheets in the unit. Overall, the stay itself was a complete nightmare. It was the week of the 4th, and I paid a lot of money for less than mediocre conditions. I will never stay here again. I will also never rent from RealJoy Rentals again. There was ZERO joy in this unit. As for VRBO, as a frequent traveler, I'm very disappointed.
