OUTDOOR LIVING — THE HEART OF STARFISH BAY
The outdoor living at Starfish Bay is exceptional. With three distinct zones totaling over 2,000 sq ft, your group will spend most of their time outside and never feel crowded.
Zone 1 — Covered porch (~600 sq ft):
Large sliding doors from the master, living room, and waterfront guest room open onto a spacious covered porch. This is the transition space between indoors and out—shaded, breezy, and furnished for lounging. Perfect for reading, napping, or escaping the midday sun while staying close to the action.
Zone 2 — Upper deck (~1,000 sq ft):
The main event: a massive uncovered deck with infinity ocean views in every direction. Furnished with four cushioned chaises, four Adirondack chairs, an outdoor dining table that seats six, and a high‑top table for four. A cornhole set is always out for friendly competition. A large outdoor A/C unit helps keep the covered areas cooler on hot summer days. This is where sunsets happen, dinners are shared, and memories are made.
Zone 3 — Lower deck with ocean access:
Below the upper deck, a lower platform with wide stairs leads directly into the crystal‑clear Sea of Abaco. An outdoor shower on this level lets you rinse off after swimming, snorkeling, or a day on the boat.
Outdoor kitchen:
A full outdoor cooking setup sits on the deck level—Weber gas grill, outdoor sink, and prep counter. Grill today’s catch, prep sides, and serve everything without leaving the waterfront. The chef stays part of the group.
Hammock:
Strung on the upper deck, the hammock is a guest favorite—sway in the sea breeze with a direct view over the water.
Water toys launched directly from the lower deck:
4 watercraft (mix of kayaks and stand‑up paddleboards)
Large floating water mat
Snorkel gear (fins, masks, snorkels) for up to 6 guests
Wide deck and stairs make launching easy, even for younger guests
All water toys are also available for use on the marina/canal side—giving you a protected, calm‑water option when northerly winds make the ocean side choppy.
YOUR PRIVATE DOCK & MARINA
Starfish Bay includes access to a private, protected boat slip in our on‑site marina for vessels up to ~60 ft. The marina is located on the calm canal between the property and Sugarloaf Cay—a south‑facing waterway that provides sheltered dockage in most weather, including strong northerly winds that can make other docks in the Abacos uncomfortable or unsafe.
Dock amenities:
Reverse osmosis fresh water at the dock
30‑amp and 50‑amp shore power
Comfortable Adirondack chairs and shaded seating area for relaxing
Fish‑cleaning station—clean your catch steps from your boat
A completely different water view from the marina side: south‑facing over the Sugarloaf Canal and lagoon with spectacular sunsets
The marina gives your stay a second waterfront. While the house faces north over the open Sea of Abaco, the dock faces south over the protected canal. Two different experiences, two different views—and you have access to both. Whether you bring your own boat, rent one locally, or simply want a quiet spot to sit and watch the boats go by, the marina is always yours to enjoy. Please inquire about dockage at the time of booking. No liveaboards.
OFF‑GRID LUXURY — POWER & WATER
Starfish Bay is part of a self‑sufficient private property. You will never worry about power outages or water quality—a genuine concern at many Abaco rentals, but not here.
Solar power plant provides reliable 24/7 electricity. Two diesel generators stand by as backup only. This is a true “green” power system—you are staying at one of the most sustainably powered vacation rentals in the Bahamas.
Rainwater harvesting collects and stores fresh water on‑site. Reverse osmosis and a quadruple filtration system with UV treatment ensure every faucet delivers clean, drinkable water. No need to buy bottled water.
High‑speed Starlink satellite internet delivers fast, reliable WiFi to every corner of the property—indoors, on every deck, and at the docks. Stream, video call, or work remotely without interruption.
PRIVACY, SECURITY & EXCLUSIVITY
Starfish Bay sits within Eastern Shores, a private gated peninsula at the very tip of Marsh Harbour. Water surrounds you on nearly every side—the Sea of Abaco to the north, Sugarloaf Cay channel and lagoon to the south—creating a uniquely private and scenic setting.
Gated community entrance with private road access
Ring security cameras monitor the road entrance and marina only—no cameras inside the home or in any private spaces
Quiet, upscale residential neighborhood ideal for walking, jogging, or simply enjoying the peace
Your home has its own private parking, entrance, decks, and ocean access—completely separate from any other structure on the property
THE MOST CENTRAL LOCATION IN THE ABACOS
Unlike rentals on the outer cays—where you are confined to one small island and dependent on ferries—our location on the main island of Great Abaco, at the hub of Marsh Harbour, gives your group unmatched flexibility to explore by land and sea.
By water (approx. from your dock):
Hope Town / Elbow Cay — 3.5 miles
Man‑O‑War Cay — under 3 miles
Mermaid Reef (snorkeling) — 1.5 miles
Lubbers Quarters / Tahiti Beach — short ride south
Fowl Cay National Park — nearby
Montage Cay — less than 1 mile across the bay; a 53‑acre private island being developed as a luxury Montage resort (inn, spa, deep‑water marina, and multiple dining venues) that you can see from your deck
Treasure Cay — ~20 miles north
Green Turtle Cay — ~20 miles north
Little Harbour / Pete’s Pub — to the south
By land (from Starfish Bay):
Marsh Harbour Airport (MHH) — minutes away
Albury’s Ferry Dock (Hope Town, Man‑O‑War, Guana Cay) — less than 1 mile at the entrance to Eastern Shores
Maxwell’s Supermarket and Price Right grocery — minutes
Liquor store, pharmacy, clinic — minutes
Local restaurants — minutes
Boat Harbour Marina (full‑service with fuel, diesel, and restaurants) — ~1.5 miles by car or boat
Marsh Harbour is the hub of the Abacos—the airport, main supermarkets, ferries, and essential services are all here. You get the privacy of a waterfront estate and the convenience of being minutes from everything. A rental car is recommended for getting around and exploring the mainland. Taxis are always available at the airport.
BOATING IN THE ABACOS
The Abacos are widely regarded as one of the best boating destinations in the world, and Starfish Bay puts you at the center of it all. The Sea of Abaco provides naturally protected waters between the outer barrier cays and the mainland, creating ideal conditions for day trips in every direction.
From our dock you can:
Island‑hop to Hope Town, Man‑O‑War, Great Guana Cay, Green Turtle Cay, and smaller cays
Access offshore and bonefishing grounds
Anchor at pristine, uninhabited beaches and sandbars
Snorkel coral reefs and underwater parks like Fowl Cay
Visit Tahiti Beach on the southern tip of Elbow Cay
Cruise to Pete’s Pub at Little Harbour for a waterside lunch
Reach Treasure Cay and Green Turtle Cay to the north for extended day trips
Being centrally positioned on the Sea of Abaco means you avoid long open‑water crossings. Day trips in every direction are short, safe, and enjoyable—even with children aboard. If you plan to rent a boat, we strongly recommend booking early—rentals fill up fast in peak season. If bringing your own vessel, please provide details when requesting your booking so we can prepare your slip.
ACTIVITIES FROM THE PROPERTY
You do not need to leave Starfish Bay to have an incredible day on the water:
Swim directly off the deck into the clear Sea of Abaco—sea turtles, starfish, and tropical fish are regularly spotted in front of the house
Snorkel along the shoreline with the included gear
Kayak or paddleboar
