Great Private Pool and Access to Walkover B

My Brother and I’s families were able to utilize this for a week of vacation. Great size, amenities, and access to beach, restaurants, and shopping for everyone

Dejarnette Cottage

We absolutely loved this location and the house. The pool was great to have as well. The house needs a little upkeep and the cleaning crew could have done a better job getting it ready but other than that our stay was lovely.

Amazing house

House was amazing! Had everything we needed. Internet was super slow for those who still had to work a little but other than that is was perfect! Close to the beach and everything else you would need!

It is a very attractive home in a great location but when we arrived at check in time we found that another family was swimming in our “ private pool”. . I told the father of the family that we had rented the house and this was our pool. He said they were allowed to swim in the pool, and were staying in the carriage house next to our rental home. I immediately called the rental company and was told it was after hours and the property manager was unavailable and would call me in the morning. I called the other numbers listed on the check in instructions and got nowhere. Finally, after two hours of calls, one of the agents told me that the family was checking out the next morning at 10:00am. “They were friends of the owner. “ Those“ friends” swam in our pool from 4:00pm - 8:15 pm. We couldn’t use the pool and we had to listen to them laughing, shouting and splashing in the pool, the entire evening while we unpacked. The rental company was no help whatsoever. The next day, I called again and asked if any other family would be staying in that carriage house next to ours during our stay. They assured me that it wasn’t rented. Two days later another couple moved in. It was obvious that that the rental company had either no knowledge or power over who was renting that carriage house. They made no effort to makeup for our very disappointing first night. No dinner gift card for that night or credit was offered to us. No apology either. Terrible public service.

The pool is reserved exclusively for guests of the main house. As soon as the issue was reported, our team contacted the guests staying in the Carriage House and instructed them to vacate the pool. A last-minute reservation was also made for the Carriage House during your stay, which is why additional guests arrived after you had been advised that it was vacant at that time. We understand how frustrating this must have been upon arrival and regret that the situation affected the start of your getaway. Our team was glad to assist with additional linens and other requests throughout your stay, and we hope those efforts helped make the remainder of your visit more comfortable. We appreciate your feedback and would welcome the opportunity to provide you with a smoother stay in the future.

Sisters Fun

Loved the home! It was very clean and well laid out and stocked well. Bikes were super handy and very fun! Was a bit surprised to see pool was shared with another cottage though. Too chilly to get in pool and we were on different schedules, so it was not an issue. Just didn't expect that (and nor did the other folks as they were equally surprised to see us when we met on the pool deck).

The Dejarnette Cottage is in a great location and worked well for three couples. The bathroom for the bedroom on the first floor closest to the road is a poor design. It has a window in the shower at waist level which was flooded with water each time the shower was used and clearly showed it had sustained water damage over the years. This same bedroom has two large windows facing the pool and two smaller windows facing the street. The blinds did not work on the smaller windows so we couldn't open them. We didn't open the blinds on the windows facing the pool because it is in the direct path of the walkway to the front door, so there is no privacy with the shades open. This made the room very dark. I have stayed in Rosemary Beach many times over the years and was disappointed in the comfort of the furnishings and the supplies in the house. The dining room chairs are very uncomfortable (they need cushions on the wicker seats). The kitchen had minimal supplies (a few dishwasher tablets, paper towels and dish soap). There were no seasonings (salt, pepper, etc) and not even a welcome pack of coffee. Every house I've stayed in at Rosemary Beach has these basic kitchen staples. We enjoyed the four bikes that came with the house, but it would have been nice to have 6 bikes since there were 6 of us. We had to rent two bikes in Rosemary. Overall, we had a wonderful time in Rosemary, but I would look for other accommodations before I booked Dejarnette again.

This cottage consistently receives high praise, and guests love both the private pool and the community amenities. Still, we’ve reviewed the specifics you passed along to our property care team, and we’ll take them under consideration as we continue improving the home. Regarding kitchen supplies, we keep only non-perishables in the house. Seasonings, oils, and other food items aren’t left behind for sanitary reasons and to avoid attracting any unwanted beachside “guests.” As for the starter supplies, the home is stocked to standard with basics to get you through arrival until you can shop for your preferred supplies. It truly sounds like this property just wasn’t the best match for your group’s preferences, and that’s okay—sometimes even a great home isn’t the right home. We’d be glad to welcome you back for another stay in a place that fits your style a bit better next time you’re in Rosemary.

Was great but the outside grounds could have been cleaned up, looked like a lawn service started cleaning up but left piles of leaves and debris in the yard

Perfect for Families

We enjoyed a week here with our two teens and their friends. The location to the beach and our own private pool was perfect. Each group having their own bathroom was great too. I can see this property being really nice for 2-3 families to share. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable but my only complaint is not having a regular shower head in the upstairs master. The rain shower is nice but we missed having another option.
