Escape to a serene, private beach with breathtaking views and everything you need for the perfect vacation.

Welcome to Big Blue, where you can go barefoot from front door to your private beach and your unforgettable memories await.

Fully stocked kitchen, board games, comfy beds, modern bathrooms, modern outdoor patio, gas bbq grill, well lit space, extra home amenities, beach gear, gym and very attentive hosts.

It’s also centrally located between historic Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, VA Beach, Norfolk Naval Station and more.

One or two dogs are welcome with pre-approval and $100 pet fee.

This beach front condo style home is 1 of a 3 unit property. This particular unit is 2,071 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms on the 2ndd floor of a 3 story building. There is an identical 2,071 sq. ft. 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms condo unit on the 3rd floor. These units have separate doors connected by 2 flights of stairs. The first floor has a foyer entrance to the stairs and a garage. There is also another separate third unit, a 1 bedroom 2 bathroom beach cottage that is not connected to this building.

This unit is an open floor plan connecting the kitchen, dining room, mini office space and living room with beach views. The kitchen has a large island flanked by two bar stools and it comes fully stocked. It also comes with complimentary coffee, hot cocoa, cream and sugar.

The master bedroom has a king size bed with comfy memory foam mattress and 43 inch Smart TV. The newly updated large master bathroom has a rain fall shower, large bath tub and an extra vanity. The second bedroom is roomy with a queen size bed, memory foam mattress. The third bedroom has a bunk bed with 2 full size memory foam mattresses and a large bean bag to lounge in. The newly renovated hallway bath has a double vanity with stand up shower.

For the security of our guests and the safety of our home and beach amenities, we have external security cameras located at the front door, foyer, and beach pathway.

The absolute best VRBO we have ever stayed! The house was stocked with anything we might have needed from laundry pods to phone chargers, towels, shampoo and conditioner, even coffee and creamer in the fully equipped kitchen! The beach view and easy access were amazing. The house was immaculate and has a very calm, relaxing feeling. I can’t say enough good things. We ran into some rainy weather and the host notified us while we were out to stay safe! 1000% would recommend! Our special request to meet the most handsome 4 legged host was the high-light of our trip. Such considerate hosts for our Showgirl is a Wife Weekend!

My family and I had a great stay. The house was comfortable, very clean and well-equipped. The proximity to the beach was very nice and convenient. We enjoyed all the beach equipment and the gym area. The hosts were very accommodating and communitive with our changing plans.

One of the best beach rentals we've ever rented. From the personal message welcoming us on the parking spot sign, to all the amenities, our stay was excellent. Everything you need is provided: toiletries, coffee, tea, fully stocked kitchen, complimentary snacks, and everything, I mean EVERYTHING, you need for the beach! The owener greeted us when we got there, and were quick and attentive to all our questions. Very clean and modern. Only con was we could hear every time the guests walked above us. Otherwise, we definitely recommend the Dolphin Suite!

Great Place to Stay

We rented for a visit with our son at NAS Norfolk. This was the perfect place! Close to the base, on the beach, and great kitchen to cook meals and hang out. Thank you!!

Big Blue Paradise

We enjoyed our stay at Big Blue with the whole family. This was our pups first visit to the ocean. She loved it! The beach was peaceful....very few people. The house was comfortable and very clean. Thank you for everything!

Nice stay, thank you

The condo was really nice and clean and had so many extra touches by the owners. They literally thought of everything! They were also very accommodating allowing us to check in a little early which was great since we had our dog. The second floor where we were had a slightly obstructed view which you can see in the pics if you look closely but it didn’t bother us since you can look to either side unobstructed. I didn’t realize there was a top floor to rent as well even though it clearly says that in the description the mermaid suite probably has a little better view. The only thing I was wishing was an outdoor deck or patio to sit on to enjoy coffee in the mornings but you can easily go down and access the beach to do that. We did have a family with kids check in to the suite above us our last night and you could hear them running around But it was just here and there and couldn’t be helped. Just mentioning it for awareness for others. Overall it was a great stay and the place was very Very nice. Thank you,

Great stay and awesome hosts

Stayed for a long weekend for a family birthday get together. Communication with the hosts was flawless, always answered the messages via the app. The house was easy to get to in a nice neighborhood. The area was safe and quiet. The house was ready when we arrived and it was spotless. Everything was clean and in order. The kitchen is fully stocked and we found complimentary snacks and drinks waiting for us. The beach is just a few steps away and it was nice to take the dog for a walk along the water. The house is in a nice location, about 15 minutes to downtown Norfolk and a quick 30 minutes to Virginia Beach. Many things to do around the area. Private parking on the property was convenient. The property is spacious with three large bedrooms, plenty of beds, comfortable seating in the living room, fireplace and a view of the water. The TVs were good size and fully functional, HVAC kept the temperature comfortable. It was a truly enjoyable stay without a single complaint. We will definitely return to the Dolphin suite when we return to Norfolk.

I will be back Big Blue!

The pictures are 100% the location but when you get there your expectations are exceeded. VERY spacious, cozy, and accommodating. Our Hosts were prompt in response and helpful. We even extended our stay one more night because the stay was so perfect! It was only my husband and I but we will be bringing our children back next time! Depending on what side of town you would like to frequent you are right in the middle - great location and stay!

Family weekend trip

We greatly enjoyed our stay in the Dolphin suite at the Beachfront Getaway! The condo is very spacious, equipped with all the basics, and convenient location for lots of sightseeing!! The beachfront access is perfect with beautiful sunrises/sunsets. The owners were reachable about accommodations and very welcoming to our stay.

Amazing stay!!!

The property owners are actually the neighbors of this property. They were very accommodating when we arrived ahead of schedule and made sure we had a place to sit out of the heat until our rental was ready. Messages were responded to within minutes. The house was modern and very clean! Probably the cleanest rental we’ve ever had. The street was very safe and perfect for families with children. All the basic necessities were provided. I cannot overstate how perfect the location and the property was. This side of the ocean had calm waters, again perfect for small children and kayaks, which we used extensively.

This property is absolutely beautiful! The owners have spared no expense on ensuring your stay has all the comforts of home. Super clean, well stocked with everything you could need and steps away from a super private beach. The owners were extremely quick to respond to any questions - we will definitely stay here again!

Class of '85 Girls from Ohio

Our girls trip getaway was everything we were hoping for! The condo was very clean and offered every amenity we needed. We enjoyed the private beach, beach chairs and umbrellas. There was more debris on the beach than anticipated but the city did have equipment trying to pick it up. That would not prevent us from returning again to Norfolk. Rick & Merlyn are the perfect host & hostess! We highly recommend this condo!

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at your stunning beachfront vacation rental, and I wanted to express our heartfelt thanks for providing such an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with elegant and comfortable furnishings that made us feel right at home. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds incredibly comfortable, ensuring we all had a restful night's sleep. The bathrooms were stocked with plush towels and high-quality toiletries. The kitchen was a dream to cook in, fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. We particularly enjoyed the open-concept living area, where we spent our evenings relaxing and taking in the breathtaking ocean views. The board games were great. The private beach access was a true highlight of our stay. The secluded stretch of beach with its calm waves provided the perfect setting for our daily activities. Our children were thrilled with the variety of beach toys available, from the paddle board, kayaks, chairs, to the sandcastle building kits. We spent hours playing in the sand and surf, knowing we had all the equipment we needed for a fun and safe experience. In summary, our stay was perfect. Great Getaway

We had a great week staying at Big Blue! The owners checked in on us and made the arrival and departure very easy. They even made a special visit to help latch a stubborn window! Beautiful property and very clean. Easy to get to the beach and attractions. Highly recommend!

Rick and I met in 2017 and from day one, we loved going out and travelling. In our first year of dating, we visited the Florida Keys, the ancient Bristlecone trees of the Inyo National Forest, Cartagena, Columbia and El Nido, Philippines. In addition to our love of travel, we found that we enjoyed bringing those experiences into our home. In the following years, especially during COVID, we attempted several DIY home projects and interior design upgrades to our home.

Halfway through the COVID years, we thought about where we could be happiest while we telework, and the beach was on the top of our list. Eventually, we found the perfect place in Willoughby Spit, Norfolk, VA where we blended our passion for travel, home projects and interior design into our home and our vacation rentals. And from the start, we have truly enjoyed sharing our beach experience with others and hope to do more in the future.
