Bellagio Retreat is a charming apartment in Limonta, a quite village 1,5 km from Bellagio. It is a 2 floor apartment situated on the second and last floor of a previous private villa converted into apartments. It is at 3 minutes walking from the beach and ferry dock where the ferry going to Bellagio, Varenna and Lecco stops. It has 2 double bedrooms (1 double,1 king) with AC and 2 full baths (one with tub/shower w/curtain and the other one witjh crystal shower box). On the main floor: living area with open kitchen, double bedroom , bath w/tub& shower, balcony overlooking the stunning Villa Pozzi garden with lake view, gallery w/village view. In the open space attic w/ skylights & lake view: king size bed, bath w/shower , TV/office area with sofa bed. Private parking & condominium garden inside the property. 3 folding tables on the balcony allow to sit comfortably 5 persons
It has been remodeled in 2020. The two bedrooms have air conditioning, the balcony has a large sun curtain, the kitchen is equipped with tools, pans, pots, coffe machine, boiler, toaster, dish washer, microwave oven, washing machine, fridge.
Behind Limonta there is a mountain where there are nice paths to walk to hike to Bellagio
In Limonta there are no services like restaurants, groceries and pharmacy for which you have to go to Bellagio (8 minutes drive) or to Vassena (5 minutes drive), therefore it is strongly reccomanded to reach it by car since bus and ferry run till 7 PM. The whole property is below the street level. The surrounding garden on the back and the lake on the front allow total privacy and silence at night and you will bring extraordinary memories back with you

Lovely lake view stay

This property was beautifully situated with an amazing view of the lake, two comfortable bedrooms and a very generous welcome basket including Prosecco and other tasty treats.

Nice place

The view and location are superb. The downstairs shower is difficult to use, but overall, we really enjoyed our time there.

Thank you Craig for taking the time to review your stay. The view and the location are for sure the most appealing features of this property for persons who appreciate being isolated from the crowd. No stores, restaurants or cafes but a small beach and sunsets to bring back nice memories. I am sorry for the downstairs shower. That's a converted tub that is used by some persons during rainy days to relax and I am very torn about replacing it but I will think about it. Thank you again

Amazing Place!

Quiet and relaxing place in beautiful location. The place was extremely clean with everything you needed to enjoy your stay in Limonta! Will be rebooking next time we are back in the area

The accommodation is wonderful plenty of room for 4 adults or 4 adults plus three children. Lovely view with no road between this property and the water, only another property below that is a private villa and beautiful to look down on. The appliances are quirky compared to what I’m used to but google search cleared up any questions. There is plenty of kitchen stuff, dishes, glasses, flatware and pans. The driveway is a bit steep and a sharp turn to the assigned parking space. The host, Carla, is awesome, and very responsive. Trust her directions as GPS is not quite right. As stated there are a lot of stairs up to the unit and the spiral stairs inside the unit. Carrying suitcases up is a bit of a challenge so if you’re not in good shape maybe this isn’t the place for you. If you are fit then this is a great choice. We loved the location in Limonta and how close it is to Bellagio. Giving us a quiet haven after exploring the busier villages. Nearby beach and boat rental. The closest ferry near the property doesn’t have as frequent a stop as the three main ferry stops, Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio so we used the ferry out of Bellagio. Having a car is necessary for staying at this location so that you can get to the store and drive to Bellagio. Parking in Bellagio is free or low cost depending where you park. However there are “no drive zones” so you can’t drive to the center or to the ferry. You will likely walk 15-20 minutes from where you park in Bellagio to the center.

We stayed for 7 nights and the location of the property is outstanding; situated approx. an 8 minute drive from Bellagio and with direct views of Lake Como as the apartment is sandwiched between the open space of 2 Villas and the Ferry Dock. The apartment also comes with a Parking spot and a wonderful Restaurant "Laconda Limonta" is a 5 minute walk. Having said this, the check-in process could be improved. The A/C and TV were not working upon arrival and there was some un-necessary back/forth with the host that could have been avoided had they checked the apartment for arrival. Also, although the main level bathroom is lovely the tub/shower combo is much too narrow to use as a shower. The upstairs bedroom is spacious but with vaulted ceilings a little uncomfortable for tall people. The shower upstairs could also benefit from grout cleaning as there is some mold. There is a washer but no dryer so you need to take your laundry down a narrow set of stairs and hang outside to dry. The neighbour hood is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Bellagio and the Ferry Dock being so close by is a bonus. If you're looking for Cheap and Cheerful this property is a great option! The Welcome basket was also very lovely and the host was responsive.

Hello Anita, grazie per le tue parole di apprezzamento sulla location della proprietà. Ci sono tanti dettagli che devono essere controllati ogni volta e trattandosi di una struttura ricettiva senza un manutentore fisso alcuni dettagli possono sfuggire. Mi spiace se i 2 messaggi per spiegare che probabilmente si erano allentati i cavi abbiano disturbato il suo soggiorno così come quello in cui suggerivamo di controllare che la programmazione dei due split dell'AC fossero programmati entrambi su "freddo". In genere l'intervento tempestivo su piccoli difetti viene molto apprezzato. Mi scuso se ha trovato muffa nella doccia, controllerò. Sarei intervenuta subito se me lo avesse detto, perchè questo non deve accadere. Il prezzo della casa considerata la posizione e la vista non la posizionano in un range di lusso o di particolare comfort e penso che il punteggio finale (4 stelle) rispecchi comunque il buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Grazie. Questa casa è particolarmente apprezzata da famiglie con figli o coppie di amici che ci soggiornano in 4 persone

Fantastic trip!

This place was more than we expected! Quiet, beautiful, roomy, and comfortable. There’s even a ferry stop pretty much steps away (not a frequent one, but you can plan ahead with the schedule). Communication with Carla and Erica was outstanding. They both helped immensely on everything from check-in to directions to ferry and bus schedules. And the boat trip! If you have the chance to a boat tour with Carla and Carlos’ company - absolutely do it! It was the highlight of our trip. I’m actually thinking about coming back with my dad to do it all again!

Lovely quiet location with stunning view

We stayed at Carlo’s place with another couple to explore Lake Como. It was wonderfully set up with all things needed for an apartment self catering stay with a stunning view across the north eastern wing of the lake in Limonta and only a short drive into Bellagio. A welcome pack of nibbles and provisions were a lovely surprise on arrival. Parking was secure and within the apartment grounds which in this part of Italy is a must. I would recommend as a lovely place to stay if you have your own transport and enjoy waking up to beautiful vistas without the crowds and their noise

Nice except

The apartment is in a perfect location and the check in process was easy. The parking is also extremely convenient. The only complaint is the cleanliness. There is an overpowering odor of cats and the ants are an issue. After we cleaned, it helped control the ants but the place needs a good overall deep cleaning.

Every spring ants wake up and since the property is completely surrounded by gardens it is very possible that they look for food or water. Please do not leave any food or drinks outside. We always place ants traps to prevent them but with food and drinks they may show up anyway. Please do not waste your vacation time cleaning the property , that's our responsability. When we welcome you and you say "Whaooo" we do not call you in order to be descreet and not bother you since we assume you are happy about the property.....but will hurry up to help and let you spend the vacation you had planned if you let us know that there is an issue that needs to be addressed. Please call before leaving the property to get help.

Peaceful retreat out of Bellagio bustle

Beautiful views, lovely to have morning coffee out on the balcony overlooking the lake. The welcome basket of food/snacks was appreciated as I had a long day of driving to get here and didn’t feel like going into town to find a restaurant the first evening. Very comfortable and clean. A little unusual to be asked to take out trash but I did upon departure (didn’t have much anyway). American style coffee maker and coffee was nice! Accommodated my later than expected arrival time with alternative check in. Carla provided helpful hiking, biking and restaurant options too! Enjoyed my stay and would love to return!

Thank you Jill for your nice review. You are a very independent woman and a perfect host. Reactive in communicating and very tidy. Thank you for the opportunity you give me to talk about the request we make to throw out the garbage, even if it is necessary to drive toward Bellagio. Unfortunately, not everyone stays so short and very often the house is occupied by 4-5 people. We often find up to 5 large bags of very heavy garbage if there are up to 10 glass bottles inside. We also find diapers and other things that make it impossible to load them onto the public transportation that the cleaning lady takes to get home. Leaving the property in good condition is a gesture of respect that everyone deserves, but when renting a house, instead of a hotel, you must be a little proactive. Asking to turn on the dishwasher and throw away your own garbage is very common in this area. Thank you again for coming, we appreciate guest as you are

Bel appartement avec vue superbe

Très bel appartement, très propre et bien équipé. Beaucoup de charmantes attentions de notre hôte: nécessaire pour le souper et le déjeuner avec une bouteille de vin. Souplesse pour l’arrivée.Vue magnifique sur le lac. Attention, plusieurs marches pour arriver à l’appartement et escalier en colimaçon étroit pour atteindre la deuxième chambre à l’étage.

Unsere erste Urlaubswoche verbrachten wir in Limonta und am Comer See. Das Quartier war ausgezeichnet geeignet: Sehr gute Betten, traumhafter Blick vom Balkon, sogar bei leichtem Regen und eine voll ausgestattete Küche, in der wir gerne zusammen gekocht haben. Durch die Klimaanlage konnten wir auch bei tropischen Temperaturen gut schlafen. Unbedingt empfehlenswert ist ein Spaziergang ins Obere Limonta über die kleinen Wege, die man fast nicht sieht. Für weitere Spaziergänge sollte man allerdings mit dem Auto in die größeren Städte fahren. Die Fähranbindung (ohne Auto) nach Bellagio/Lecco ist zwar vorhanden, aber teuer und dauert lange. Mit dem Auto sind beide Städte gut erreichbar, wenn auch auf engen Straßen. Das Bellagio Retreat ist ein guter Ausgangsort, um den See zu erkunden. Unbedingt empfehlenswert ist auch ein Bad im See, gleich neben dem Fähranleger. Danke Carla für die unkomplizierte Kommunikation und die wertvollen Tipps bei der durch ein Unwetter gesperrten Straße! Wir empfehlen das Bellagio Retreat gerne weiter!

What a view for our first time to Lake Como!

We went as a couple omfor our anniversary. What a beautiful view. Somewhat restricted by trees, but nonetheless gorgeous. A couple minutes walk to the ferry in Limonta. Just one stop over to Bellagio. Hated home, parking available. The property manager was helpful, polite and punctual to meet us. Great if you have a family with amenities for kids. Taxis are pretty rare in September, so you need a car or use of ferry as there's no dining in town. Enjoy it , we did!!

Lovely little stay

We stayed with our sweet 4 year old and almost 2 year old. Stunning view from balcony to enjoy while sipping wine at sunset. Well appointed for kids with pack and play/high chair and baby gates. There is a tricky staircase for kids, but it has a baby safety gate. Very easy to get in and out of Bellagio by boat, bus or ferry. You do need to change at Bellagio to go to most other places on the lake.

Beautiful view and welcoming host

Welcome food basket and Prosecco waited for us at Carla’s place. 2 bathrooms a big plus even for just 3 people. We were able to cook light meals - oil, salt and peppers all provided by host. Beautiful views both up and downstairs but the balcony is amazing. A car is recommmended getting into Bellagio though bus/ferry is available but we never tried, very short walk to both. Upstairs is a loft with slanted ceilings so watch your head. Washing machine and parking space make it very convenient for travelers. We thoufroufhly enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Carla.
