Great communication from the host. The weather prior to our arrival impacted a couple of things related to the space over the garage and a damaged tree, but the steps being taken were clearly communicated and our stay was not impacted. The location on the Narrows was great, we caught a couple of beautiful sunsets on the bench, and had easy access to Acadia.

The setting for the rental house was beautiful. There are woods all around the property, which had grass and beautiful flower gardens around the house. The window porch is so nice for the kids to play and to eat breakfast overlooking the Mount Desert ocean tides move in and out. For an nostalgicb touch there is even a VHS tape player on the TV in the main bedroom. The path down to the water is tricky after a rain, and a rope railing would help a lot. For our group of two generations of adults and 2 grandchildren it was a nearly perfect week.

Upon arrival I noticed that the yard was unkept and the listing pictures were deceiving. The house itself had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom with an odd odor throughout house. The apartment over the garage also had mold in the bathroom along with roaches and only one night was spent in the apartment. The air conditioning wouldn’t cool during the night, water pressure was terrible and the drainage was slow. There are no kayaks, the walk to the water was downhill, the fence gates don’t shut all the way and the yard wasn’t kept and everything was overgrown. Will be the first and last stay. Do not recommend!

The house was amazing. It was clean and comfortable. It had an amazing location with private access down to the shore of Taunton Bay. The management responed promptly with any concerns we had. We would definitely stay here again. Just mind your speed on the gravel road.

Comfortable stay with all the needed utensils for cooking and grilling. Washer, dryer and fully fenced yard were very much appreciated. The enclosed sun porch was a great place to start the day.

This is our second year staying at Mariners Reach. We absolutely love it and so do the dogs! The kitchen has everything you need. I would say high chairs at the peninsula would be good!! The house is always clean. Our favorite place is the sunroom for having coffee and breakfast in the morning. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect getaway

Great place and location

After a long day of adventure, this place is wonderful for a relaxing, wonderful family get together. Only drawback is one bathroom for all.

We are glad you had a great time. And yes, we agree this is the perfect family gathering spot -- ideally situated for numerous day trips. And yes, unfortunately, you did stay with us while the guest suite (with a FULL bath) was being repaired so it was offline. But we told you that in advance and adjusted the rate accordingly. I don't want future guests to be mislead or confused as this property is listed with TWO FULL BATHS. There are two full baths. The second bath is in the guest suite -- along with a bedroom, small living room and kitchenette over the garage. This is all included in the rental. I hope we welcome the Gutierrez family back again so they can enjoy the full experience! Liz

We rented this property at 500/night anticipating an amazing trip. From the beginning it became an absolute nightmare. My son was supposed to be staying in the guest suite. It was a 1 bed 1bath with a kitchenette and a living room. Within hours of checking in I got a message saying that there was a leak and somebody would be coming to look at it the am. “It wouldn’t impact us if we weren’t using it”. We 100% planned on it. We hadn’t gone up yet and did asap. It was really really bad. We took all my son‘s belongings out immediately. Had to wait till 10 AM the next morning to go out since we had to speak with the contractor. Our dog was in the main house and we didn’t want anybody just coming in. We found the damage was so much worse than we thought. The mold was absolutely everywhere. The bathroom/kitchen were covered in mold. Find out it had been going on long enough for the ceiling underneath in the garage to completely collapse. Not one day that we didn’t have an issue. We went out on Thursday and came back to no power. I informed the property manager and was told there really wasn’t anything they could do. No generator or anything. What she failed to tell us was that the house was on a well. She knew this and did not let us know that we were going to lose water as well. We had to spend the last night sweltering. And use all the water we had left to brush our teeth and use the toilet. And we left ASAP. Only offered a partial refund and still haven’t fulfilled. STAY AWAY
